1.Classification and evolutionary analysis of pollen allergens
Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2010;30(1):56-59
Objective To classify all the plant pollen allergens, each allergen sequence available was compared with protein family database. After that, the appearance and taxonomic distribution of each protein family could be known. When made reference to evolutionary analysis, a regular rule of the distribu-tion of all plant pollen allergens could be concluded. Methods Protein family memberships of each allergen were assigned by comparing the sequences with the Pfam database. Representative members of the most a-bundant pollen allergen families were compared with the Uniprot database using the BLAST server. Acces-sion number of all the interesting homologous could be obtained and all the sequence information could be ac-quired by Batch Entrez. Finally, the evolutionary trees were drawn with the help of MEGA4.0 software. Re-sults One hundred and sixty-eight pollen allergens were classified into 26 protein families. Profilins, pollen _allerg_1 and EF hands constituted the most abundant pollen allergen families. Profilins and EF hands oc-curred in almost all allergenic plant families, whereas allergenic Expansins, FAD_binding proteins, Amb_V allergens and Thaumatins were confined to single taxon. Conclusion It is concluded that the highly con-served sequences of allergens families such as Profilin may be one of the most important reasons of the cross reactivities in allergic diseases. The classification of pollen allergens may be helpful to clinical practice and basic research.

Difference in measurements between methods was assessed using the variance analysisi. Consistency was assessed using Bland-Altman.RESULTS:The ACD measured by lOL Master was 2. 31~3. 90mm, the mean was 3. 03 ± 0. 38mm. The ACD measured by contact A- scan ultrasound was 1. 51 ~4. 06mm, the mean was 2. 88 ± 0. 56mm. The ACD measured by immersion A-scan ultrasound was 1. 99 ~4. 17mm, the mean was 3. 17±0. 38mm. The results of lOL Master and contact A - scan ultrasound had statistical differences (P=0. 022<0. 05). The results of lOL Master and immersion A - scan ultrasound had statistical differences (P=0. 031<0. 05). The results of contact A-scan ultrasound and immersion A-scan ultrasound had statistical differences (P=0. 000<0. 05). The consistency between three methods was poor. CONCLUSlON: The rank of ACD of patients with cataract is immersion A-scan ultrasound, lOL Master and contact A-scan ultrasound. The consistency is poor, and the three methods can’t be interchanged clinically.

6.Application Value of Thyroid Function Screening in Early Pregnancy in Diagnosis of Pregnancy Complicated with Subclinical Hypothyroidism
Journal of Kunming Medical University 2014;(2):86-89
Objective To investigate the incidence of abnormal thyroid function in pregnant women and explore the significance of thyroid function screening in early pregnancy. Methods We randomly selected 630 cases of pregnant women who received routine inspection in the obstetric clinic in our hospital, and gave them five items of thyroid function screening besides routine check at the same time. Then we statistically analyzed the test results, and followed up 61 cases of pregnant women with hypothyroidism or subclinical thyroid function (hypothyroidism) to learn the treatment and adverse pregnancy outcomes,so as tto explore the correlation between hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Results In 630 cases of pregnant women, there were 8 cases of hyperthyroidism (1.3%),61 cases of hypothyroidism or subclinical hypothyroidism (9.7%),including 5 cases of hypothyroidism (0.8%), 56 cases of subclinical hypothyroidism (8.9%) .There was statistically significant difference in TSH and FT4 between hypothyroidism group and normal control group ( <0.01) .There was statistically significant difference in TSH,FT4 and TT4 between subclinical hypothyroidism group and normal control group ( <0.05) . In 61 cases of hypothyroidism and subclinical hypothyroidism, 39 patients received levothyroxine therapy,22 received no treatment. The incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in the treatment group was significantly lower than the untreated group ( <0.05) . Conclusion Thyroid function testing in 6-20 weeks in early pregnancy has important significance in timely founding gestational thyroid dysfunction, so it should be as routine examination project.
7.Molecular targets of tea polyphenols and its roles of anticancer drugs in experimental therapy.
Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2013;48(1):1-7
Tea polyphenols (TPs), major biological active constituents of green tea, exert moderate and selective anticancer effects. Molecular mechanisms of TPs in cancer prevention and treatment involve multiple potential molecular targets. TPs inhibit growth factor receptor-mediated signal transduction pathway, decrease the activities of mitogen activated protein kinases and activator protein transcription factor-1, block nuclear factor-kappaB signaling pathway, reduce proteasome activity, lower overexpression of COX-2, subside dihydrofolate reductase and telomerase, and inhibit DNA methylation and matrix metalloproteinases. Furthermore, TPs enhance the inhibitory effect on the growth of cancers by traditional anticancer drugs or targeted antitumor drugs in vitro and in vivo and reverse multidrug resistances of cancer cells to vincristine, doxorubicin, and 5-fluorouracil. Besides, TPs reduce the nephrotoxicity induced by cisplatin, ameliorate irinotecan-induced side effects in the small intestine of mice, and decrease bleomycin-caused DNA damage in human leukocytes. TPs also increase antitumor activity of vaccine through immunological modulation. TPs play roles of the augmentation of antitumor effects, the reversal of multidrug resistance, and the reduction of side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs. TPs could be used as biochemical modulators in cancer therapy.
