Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2009;28(5):548-550
Objective To understand current prevalence of fluorosis, of drinking tea type in Pengyang County of Ningxia to offer scientific basis for preventing and curing, monitoring, health education. Methods Four towns were chosen as investigating spots in Pengyang County of Ningxia in 2007, from each 50 children aged 8-12 year old and 50 adults who either had tea or did not were investigated. Dean method was used to measure dental fluorosis of children and adult; meanwhile fluoride content in water, urine and drinking tea was tested using the fluoride ionic electrode method and that in brick tea using water immersion electrode method. χ2 testing, analysis of variance, u test, q test were performed. Results In adult drink tea group, control group, and children, the detaction rate of dental fluorosis were respectively 24.75%(99/400),9.5%(38/400)and 15.96%(71/445), obviously higher in drink tea group than the control group(χ2= 32.73, P<0.05). Urine average concentration of fluoride was (3.38±2.37), (2.09±1.33 ). (1.41±0.67)mg/L, obviously higher in drink tea group than the control group(u= 9.49, P<0.05). In 4 investigation spots tea fluoride averaged at (3.63±2.05)mg/L, fluoride content in drinking water was averagely (1.01±0.49) mg/L, with that of Wangwa Town [(1.31±0.33)mg/L] exceeding the national standard for drinking water (1.0 mg/L), where dental fluorosis rate was higher and fluoride content was higher than that in 3 other investigation spots (P<0.05). Conclusions Residents in Pengyang County in Ningxia who drink brick tea can cause accumulation of fluorine to poison in Ningxia, leading to fluorosis of drinking tea type; Wangwa Town have both drink tea and water fluorine poison.

Objective: To observe the changes of blood coagulation factors and inflammatory factors and the regulatin effect of Omegaven. Methods: Thirty ICU patients were randomly allocated into two groups: Omegaven group and control group.Serum concentrations of NF-κB、PGF1α、Eselectin、sICAM-1、TAT、D-dimer、TMD、PF1+2 were measured before and after parenteral nutrition. Results: Patients in control group had significantly higher NF-κB、Eselectin、sICAM-1、TAT、D-dimer、TMD、PF1+2 concentration, lower PGF1α concentration.Patients treated with Omegaven had significantly lower NF-κB、Eselectin、sICAM-1、TAT、D-dimer、TMD、PF1+2 concentration, higher PGF1α concentration. Conclusion: Omegaven can suppress inflammatory reaction and improve coagulopathy.

Aim To observe the improved effects of Shuangshen Ningxin capsule on ventricular remodeling and wall motion in myocardial ischemic miniature swine induced by thrombus. Methods Myocardial ischemic model miniature swine induced by self-thrombus via cardiac catheter in left anterior descending coronary artery(LAD)were administrated Shuangshen Ningxin capsule for 6 days. The changes of cardiac form, left heart systolic and diastolic function, left ventricular wall motion were observed by the technology of conventional ultrasound and Doppler tissue imaging. Results 6 days after myocardial ischemia and administration, miniature swine of model group showed ventricular wall thinning, chambers heart dilating, ventricle remodeling and wall motion weak, but Shuangshen Ningxin capsule obviously lowered left ventricular internal diameter at end-diastole(LVIDd),left ventricular internal diameter at end-systole(LVIDs),end-systolic volume(ESV),end-diastolic volume(EDV)and isovolumic relaxation time(IVRT),and increased ejection fraction(EF),tissue velocity and tissue trace of left ventricle anterior wall cardiac apex segment. Conclusion Shuangshen Ningxin capsule has anti-myocardial ischemia effect by improving left ventricular remodeling, increasing left cardiac work, improving left heart systolic and diastolic function and increasing left ventricular wall motion.

Objective To observe the efficacy of combinated inhaled glucocorticosteroid and long- ?2 - agonist for asthmatic children. Methods Forty- seven children with moderate or severe persistent asthma were treated with inhalation of the fluticasone pro-pionate and salmeterol. The PEF value and the mark according the symptom of asthma before and after treatment( week and month respectively) were recorded. At the same time the days of treatment the patient with the short - ?2 - agonist in the first week and the forth week respectively were noted. The subjective feeling and accident of patients also should be paid attention. Results There was significant difference (P

Objective To explore the therapeutical effects of enteral nutrition (EN) combined with panaxoside Rb1 on mouse modles of postoperative fatigue syndrome. Methods Totally, 72 male Sprague-Dawley mice were randomly divided into control group, model group, EN group, EN associated with high/middle/low dose panaxoside Rb1 groups (EHP group, EMP group, and ELP group, n = 12 in each group). Changes in body weight were measured before and after interventions. Learning and memory playback abilities, physical strength, and vim state were evaluate by Morris Water Maze test and Improved Tail Suspension test. Serum transferrin, prealbumin, fibronectin, and interleukin-2 levels were measured with ELISA. Serum albumin level was assayed with Bromcresol Green colorimetric technique. CD4 + and CD8 + proportions were assayed by flow cytometry. Results The body weight grew alternately in each group without significant differences ( P > 0.05 ) except for model group. The latency period was significantly shorter in EN combined with panaxoside Rbl group than that in model group ( P < 0. 05 ) , and the frequencies of crossing platform in EHP group and EMP group were significantly higher than those in model group ( P < 0. 01 ). The areas of struggling above domain in EHP group and EMP group were significantly larger than those in model group ( P < 0. 05 ), and the accumulated static time of rest in EHP group, EMP group, and ELP group was significantly shorter than that in model group ( P < 0.05 ). Serum transferrin, prealbumin, fibronectin levels in EN combined with panaxoside Rb1 group were significantly higher than those in model group ( all P < 0.05 ). The CD4 + T proportion and interleukin-2 level in EHP group, EMP group, and ELP group were significantly higher than those in model group (both P <0.05 ); however, CD8 + T proportion was not significantly different between three panaxoside Rbl groups and model group (P > 0. 05 ). Conclusion EN combined with panaxoside Rb1 can improve postoperative fatigue syndrome in a dose-dependent way, which may be explained by the fact that it can strengthen the postoperative nutrition, restrain hypermetabolism, and increase immunity.

Objective To prepare quercetin liposomes and establish a method for determination of its entrapment efficiency. Methods The film dispersion-homogenizing method was used to prepare quercetin liposomes. The formulation was optimized on the basis of orthogonal design and its entrapment efficiency was performed by the protamine sedimentation method. Results The optimal conditions were found to be cholesterol-egg phospholipid=1:3,quercetin-vehicle = 1:40,homogenization pressure 103.4 MPa for three times. The average entrapment efficiency of the optimized nano-liposomes was 92.1%.Conclusion The film dispersion-homogenizing method could be used to prepare quercetin liposomes. The protamine sedimentation method is convenient, accurate, and suitable for the determination of the entrapment effi- ciency of quercetin liposomes.
