Objective To analyze the effect of cervical.curvature and intervertebral height on the surgical outcome of posterior decompression in patients with multi-level cervical spondylotic myelopathy.Method A total of 50 patients with multi-segment cervical spondylotic myelopathy (≥ 3 segments),treated with posterior decompression from June 2006 to January 2009 were retrospectively analyzed.Twenty six patients underwent cervical omni-posterior decompression and lateral mass screw internal fixation (group A); 24patients underwent expansive open-door laminoplasty (group B).The effects of changing of cervical curvature and intervertebral height on JOA score and VAS score were analyzed. Results All patients were followed up for 8 months to 4 years (average,24 ±5.5 months). There were statistical differences of cervical curvature angles between preoperative and 3 days postoperatively in group A,while no statistical differences in group B.There were no statistical differences of cervical curvature angles between 3 days,6 months and 3 years postoperatively in group A,while there were differences in group B After further analysis of the loss of cervical curvature and intervertebral height, the result showed that JOA score and VAS score in the low-loss group were better than those in the high-loss group. Conclusion Lateral mass screw internal fixation after cervical omni-posterior decompression had many advantages such as reducing the change of cervical curvature, the loss of intervertebral height and incidence of cervical axial symptoms.

AIM: To optimize the extraction process of Myrrha by SFE-CO 2. METHODS: Orthogonal design was applied and GC was used to determine the contents of ?-Elemene in order to optimize the process. RESULTS: The optimized conditions were as follows: pressure 25 MPa, temperature 45 ?C and extraction time 4 h. CONCLUSION: The method of SFE-CO 2 is rapid, convenient in comparison with conventional methods.

0.05).Our data also showed no significant association between the genotypes and the severity of the disease.One-way ANOVA showed that BDNF genotype had no association to the age of onset for developing AD.Conclusions Our results indicate that Va166Met SNP in BDNF gene is not associated with AD.

Objective A prospective randomized controlled trial was carried out to explore the best time of In-domethacin suppositories administration for the prevention of post-ERCP pancreatitis in high-risk groups. Methods 81 patients were enrolled in the study finally. Patients were randomized into group A (100 mg rectal Indomethacin suppositories was administrated immediately after ERCP), group B (100 mg rectal Indomethacin suppositories was administrated half an hour after ERCP) and group C (ERCP alone group, which did not give Indomethacin supposito-ries). The level of serum amylase, urine amylase, serum CRP, serum IL-6, serum TNF-α were measured before, 3 h, 24 h and 48 h after ERCP, and the incidence of PEP and hyperamylasemia were analyzed. Results There was 1 case (4.00%) of PEP in group A, 2 cases (5.41%) of PEP in group B and 5 cases (26.31%) of PEP in group C;the incidences of PEP of group A and group B were significant lower than that in group C (P < 0.05). There was 1 case (4.00%) of hyperamylasemia in group A, 5 cases (13.51 %) of hyperamylasemia in group B and 6 cases (31.6 %) of hyperamylasemia in group C, and the incidences of hyperamylasemia of group A and group B were significant lower than that in group C ( P< 0.05). Conclusion Administration of 100 mg Indomethacin suppositories immediately or half an hour after ERCP can effectively reduce the incidence of PEP and hyperamylasemia.

Objective To investigate the renal function changes of the children with breast milk jaundice(BMJ) and effect of early interference treatment on renal function. Methods Serum bilirubin and urine - minim protein (?2-MG,?1-MG, Alb and IgG) of the 50 patients with BMJ were measured when they were in hospital within 12 hours and the last day separately , at the same time, 20 healthy newborns had been chosen to serve as control group. Results Compared with control group, the urine minim protein of treatment group increased with the rise of serum bilirubin. When serum bilirubin was 205.2 - 256.5 ?mol/L, urine ?2- MG had mild increasing (P

China Biotechnology 2006;0(01):-
The expression of specific genes in sex chromosomes is the basis of sex-specific membrane protein in mammalian spermatozoa. The gene expression products are shared among spermatozoa through intercellular bridges, however, the phenomena of male transmission-ratio distortion and sex ratio distortion proved that differential proteins exist between X and Y spermatozoa. In addition, the existence of sex-specific proteins was confirmed by the separation experiment of X/Y chromosome bearing spermatozoa and the detection result of sex specific proteins. At the same time, it was also confirmed that the difference of the sex-specific protein is weak . The advance of separation techniques as well as the integration and optimization among these techniques has made it possible to separate sex-specific membrane proteins in mammalian spermatozoa.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate effects of antioxidant stress protein heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) of rat hepatocytes.
METHODS:
The BRL cells (rat hepatocyte cell line) were cultured. The hepatocytes were treated with LPS, LPS+HO-1 siRNA, HO-1 siRNA and PBS solution, respectively. The cell viability was measured by trypan blue exclusion test. The apoptosis cells were detected by the fluorescent dye Hoechst 33258. Expressions of GRP78, CHOP, caspase-12 and HO-1 were detected by Western blotting.
RESULTS:
LPS caused an increase of HO-1 protein expression of rat hepatocytes in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner, a up-regulation of GRP78, CHOP and caspase-12, a decrease in cell viability, and an increase in apoptosis rate of hepatocytes. Pretreatment of HO-1 siRNA inhibited the up-regulation of LPS-induced HO-1, however, aggravated ERS and cellular injury.
CONCLUSION
HO-1 inhibites ERS-mediated cellular injury of rat hepatocytes induced by LPS.
