Objective To study the current cases of Keshan disease aims at providing scientific and basic evidence for prevention and control of the disease. Methods In accordance with historical cases, in 2009, an investigation was conducted in the permanent resident population in seriously infected representative villages of landscapes and ways of living such as Xujialeng, Zhuping and some other adjacent villages in Wudu district, Longnan city. People in those areas were examined and carefully observed based on the scheme of Keshan disease surveillance. Then they were enquired about their medical history, given normal clinical examinations and electrocardiogram(ECG) examination, the suspected cases were chest X-rayed. At the same time, some samples of their hair of some children under 12 and adults were collected to be examined for the selenium content. Results Among the total number of 515 subjects, 20 were diagnosed with Keshan disease with a total detection rate of 3.9% (20/515), among whom 13 were potential patients with a detection rate of 2.5%( 13/515), 7 were chronic patients with a detection rate of 1.4%(7/515). In the total number of 515 ECG, 48 were found with abnormal ECG at a detection of 9.3%(48/515). In the 20 patients, the potential patients were mostly featured with incomplete right bundle-branch block(5 cases), complete right bundle-branch block(3 cases), frequent ventricular premature beat (2 cases) and left ventricle high voltage(2 cases), while the chronic patients were mostly featured with incomplete right bundle-branch block(2 cases). Of the 29 chest X-ray films, 17 cases had heart enlargement with a detection rate of 58.6%( 17/29). The selenium content in the hair of 10 adults and 10 children were (0.38±0.09), (0.31±0.12) mg/kg, respectively. Conclusion There are still existing some cases and obvious virulence factors of Keshan disease in Wudu district, Longnan city.

The sensor of naringin(NG), a non-electroactive substance, was prepared based on the molecular imprinting technique.Using cyclic voltammetry technique (scan rate is 100 mV/s), the naringin imprinting sensitive film, poly-o-aminophenol was coated on the surface of a graphite electrode in the presence of naringin which was considered as the template, and characterized by SEM and X-ray reflective spectrophotometry (XRR).Using K_3Fe(CN)_6 as an electroactive marker, the electrochemical properties of the NG sensor were investigated by CV, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), differential pulse voltammmetric and chronoamperometric.The results showed that the imprinted electrode was significantly different from the non imprinted electrode in morphologies and electrochemical properties, and a linear relationship between the peak current and the naringin concentration was found in the range of 6.0 × 10 ~(-5)-1.4 × 10 ~(-4) mol/L with a detec tion limit of 1.6 × 10 ~(-5) mol/L.Moreover, the imprinted electrode exhibited a good selectivity and rapid response to the naringin template molecules, as well as an excellent reproducibility(RSD = 1.8 %, n=5).

Objective To determine the effects of 1320 nm non-ablative laser on the proliferation of human dermal fibroblasts,and the secretion of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)and transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1)in vitro.Methods Human dermal fibroblasts were cultured,and irradiated three times by 1320 nm laser at a dose of 15,20 and 24 J/cm~2,respectively.The levels of bFGF and TGF-?1 were examined by ELISA at 0,24,48 and 72h after the irradiation.The number of fibroblasts before and after irradiation were determined.Results The number of fibroblasts and the secretion of bFGF both in- creased after the irradiation at the doses of 20 J/cm~2 and 24 J/cm~2(P

Objective To analyze the relations between medical students' burnout and some related factors for providing some suggestions for educational practice. Methods A total of 80 medical students were investigated and assessed by organizational justice questionnaire and Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey(MBI-GS). Results Some subjects were found to experience job burnout.Means of total distributive justice were significantly lower than medians.Means of participation and complaint mechanism were not discrete to medians.Means of motional exhaustion and cynicism were significantly lower than medians.Means of reduced professional efficacy were significantly higher than medians.Conclusion Job burnout existed among interns from non-211 and 211 Project universities.Medical students should establish scientific view of profession through psychological lessons,lectures,simulated diagnosis,clinical practice and self-sentience.

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of combined therapy for amblyopia in children by making use of pattern visual evoked potential ( P-VEP) game.
METHODS: This was a prospective case control study. These asthenopic children were divided into two groups. The control group ( 66 eyes of 49 patients ): occlusive therapy with glasses, cover, precision work, red light treatment and so on, later the stereo vision training was added. The experimental group (72 eyes of 52 patients):conventional methods mentioned above with P - VEP games.
RESULTS: The total effective rate and cure rate of experimental group in 6mo were higher than those of control group. The overall effective rate was 94. 4% in the experimental group and 83. 3% in the control group. There was a statistically significant difference between them (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: The comprehensive therapy by making use of P-VEP game is an individualized effective new way in treating amblyopia.

Objective To explore the relationship between the CHADS2 score and short-term prognosis in acute ischemic stroke patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Methods Consecutive ischemic stroke patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation who were hospitalized within 7 days after stroke were registered.Patients were divided into 3 groups on the basis of CHADS2 pre-stroke score (0 to 1,2,3to 6).And recovery was assessed by modified Rankin Scale (mRS) at 3 months follow-up (mRS ≤ 2reflected good prognosis,and mRS ≥ 5 implicated unfavorable outcome).After screening the risk factors affecting prognosis using univariate analysis,the relationship between CHADS2 score and prognosis was estimated using logistic regression model.Results Of 203 patients enrolled,the CHADS2 score of 0-1,2,3-6 were present in 72,53 and 78 respectively.Patients with the higher CHADS2 score had a higher initial NIHSS score (9.8,12.6,13.0,F =3.404,P =0.008 ),more likely to receive nosocomial pulmonary infection( 12.5％,34.0％,39.7％,x2 =14.643,P =0.001 ),negatively related to good prognosis (x2 =28.542,P =0.000 ) and positively related to unfavorable outcome ( x2 =23.575,P =0.000 ).Logistic regression model results suggested that CHADS2 score was an independent predictor of good prognosis and unfavorable outcome. Compared with CHADS2 score 3-6, CHADS2 score 0-1 was independently associated with good prognosis ( OR =5.018,95 ％ CI 2.055-12.560 ).And compared with CHADS2 score 0-1,CHADS2 score 3-6 was independently associated with unfavorable outcome ( OR =6.197,95％ CI1.670-22.996 ).Conclusions CHADS2 pre-stroke score appears to be useful in prediction of stroke outcome for patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.After acute ischemic stroke,the patients with the lower CHADS2 score (0-1) are more likely to achieve good prognosis,inversely,the patients with the higher CHADS2 score (3-6) are more likely to achieve unfavorable outcome.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Jingui Shenqi pill (JGSQP) with various concentrations at different time points on pituitary adrencorticotropic hormone (ACTH) gene expression level in Shen-Yang deficiency rats.

METHODSThe Shen-Yang deficiency rats were randomly divided into the model control group and the high, medium and low dosage of JGSQP groups. Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction was used to observe the effect of JGSQP on the ACTH mRNA of pituitary tissue in rats treated at different time points (10 d, 20 d, 30 d).

RESULTSAs compared with that in the model group, the ACTH gene expression level was significantly higher in the high dose JGSQP group (P < 0.05), and the increment in the medium dosage group was significantly higher in comparing with that in the high and low dosage groups (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThrough up-regulation on ACTH gene expression is possibly one of the mechanisms of JGSQP in treating Shen-Yang deficiency.

AIMTo establish a new and simple flow injection method for the rapid determination of acetylspiramycin (ASPM).

METHODSASPM was determined by chemiluminescence (CL) method combined with flow injection (FI) technology, which was based on the inhibitive effect of ASPM on the chemiluminescence reaction of the luminol-K3Fe (CN)6 system.

RESULTSThe decrease of chemiluminescence intensity was proportional to the logarithm of ASPM concentration (0.1-100) microgram.L-1, the detection limit was 40 ng.L-1 (3 sigma). The whole process, including sampling and washing, could be completed in 0.5 min with a RSD less than 3.0% (n = 5).

CONCLUSIONThe FI-CL method is of both high sensitivity and good selectivity giving a throughput of 120 h-1. The proposed method was applied successfully to the determination of ASPM in pharmaceutical preparations and human urine without any pre-treatment. It was found that the ASPM concentration reached its maximum after being orally administrated for two hours.
