BACKGROUND:Until now, it is stil unclear whether the stem cel transplantation triggersadverse effects on the myocardial electrical activity, resulting in the emergence of arrhythmia.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of intracoronary transplantation of umbilical cord blood stem cels on arrhythmia score and incidence of ventricular arrhythmia.
METHODS:According to therapeutic strategies, 73patients with coronary heart disease were assigned to receive drug therapy in control group (n=38) and umbilical cord blood stem cel transplantation in observation group (n=35). Arrhythmia score, incidence of ventricular arrhythmia and adverse reactions were recorded and analyzed before and 1, 4, 8 weeks after transplantation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After treatment, arrhythmia scores were significantly reduced in the two groups, especialy in the observation group, to exhibit a continuous decline trend (P< 0.05). Compared with the control group, the incidence of ventricular arrhythmia was significantly lower in the observation (P< 0.05). However, there were no significant changes in the blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation before and after transplantation, and no acute heart failure and death occurred in thetwo groups. These results suggest that the intracoronary transplantation of umbilical cord blood stem cels exhibits superiorities in the treatment of coronary artery disease, significantly reducing the arrhythmia score, reducing the incidence of ventricular arrhythmia, and resulting in less adverse reactions.

The functional framework of information management system for regional medical and health institutions was established according to the 5 application systems (public health, medical service, medical support, drug supply support and general management ) and the target to develop 2 databases ( a resident electronic health records data-base and a resident electronic medical records database ) and an operational network put forward in the overall framework of health information construction during The National Twelfth-5 Year Plan Period, based on the functional position of health institutions at different levels. The difficulties to realize the target of the national 3521 project and its prospects were pointed out.

Objective To analyze Chinese oncology papers included by Chinese biomedical literature database (CBM) and science citation index (SCI),and to comprehensively and objectively reflect the current situation of Chinese oncology literatures published in domestic and international journals. Methods Chinese oncology papers were retrieved by using CBM and SCI.A comparison analysis was made from the respects of subject distribution, district distribution, organization distribution and high citation situation. Results 67 071 papers of 2012 were retrieved from CBM database, while 9226 papers were indexed by SCI.In terms of district distribution, the first three districts were Jiangsu (6707),Guangdong (4897) and Beijing (2214) in CBM database, while in SCI database, they were Beijing (2214),Shanghai (2008) and Guangdong (1393).The institute with the most amount of literature is university, respectively 9725 and 5755.Moreover,the mostly funded project is National Natural Science Foundation (4710,35.38% ; 3290,35.68%).Conclusion The 2012 Chinese oncology literatures published in domestic journals has advantage with respect to quantity, compared with the international published journals. However, there exists a bigger difference in terms of quality.Through the comparative analysis, the medical researchers in our country will have some implications in the research orientation.

Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in synovium of rats with adjuvant arthritis and the relationship between the histopathologic score and the expression of VEGF.Methods Adjuvant arthritis was established in Wistar rats by inoculating complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA). We calculated the arthropathologic score and the expression of VEGF mRNA and protein at different stages after CFA inoculation. Results In model group the arthropathologic score and expression of VEGF protein in synovium increased significantly all the time (P

Objective To explore the characteristics of human plague using a sero-epidemiologic method in the source of the three rivers area in Qinghai for possible plague control strategies. Methods Investigate human plague sero-epidemiologically in the source of 4 counties in the three rivers area in Qinghai. The human serum would be tested to confirm the sew-positive rate for plague F1 antibody using indirect hemagglutination assay(IHA). Results A total of 2508 local participants were tested in 4 counties, the overall plague sero-positive rate was 2.31%(58/2508). This represents a statistically significant difference with 4 counties(X2=19.30,P<0.01). The sew-positive rate for males and females were 2.54% (32/1261) and 2.09% (26/1247), respectively. There were no statistically significant differences between males and females(X2= 0.65,P 0.05). The sero-positive rate in herdsman, cadre, Tibetan, Hart nationalities were 3.54% (44/1243), 6.47% (11 / 170), 2.40% (56/2335) and 1.47% (2/136), respectively. The sero- positive rate increased with age. The highest titre for human plague serum antibody was 1 : 640. Conclusion There were occult infections of plague in the population on source of three rivers area in Qinghai. Sero-epidemiologic data revealed that the human plague sero-positive rate was closely correlated with the local animal plague.

OBJECTIVETo explore pathogenesis of post-transplantation diabetes mellitus (PTDM) in renal transplantation recipients.
METHODSA total of 40 renal transplantation recipients were divided into three groups based on oral glucose tolerance test results: normal glucose tolerance (NGT) group (n = 10), impaired fasting glycaemia + impaired glucose tolerance (IFG + IGT) group (n = 16), and PTDM group (n = 14). Insulin resistance (IR) and beta cell function were assessed by homeostasis model.
RESULTSThe differences of the immunosuppressive agents used in these groups were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Compared with NGT group, insulin area under curve and homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance index were significantly higher in IGT + IFG group and PTDM group (P < 0.05). Compared with NGT group and IGT + IPG group, insulin secretion index at 30 min and homeostasis model assessment-insulin secretion index were significantly lower in PTDM group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONInsulin resistance and beta-cell dysfunction may play a key role in the pathogenesis of PTDM.
