BACKGROUND:Although bone tissue engineering scaffolds made of traditional methods have made certain achievements, the three-dimensional structure, mechanical strength and personalized property of the scaffolds are unsatisfied. 3D printing technology is expected to change these shortcomings. OBJECTIVE:To review the 3D printing of bone tissue engineering scaffolds and to prospect the optimization of the scaffolds. METHODS:A computer-based search of PubMed and Google academic database was performed for articles addressing the 3D printing of bone tissue engineering scaffolds published from 2008 to 2015. Articles concerning the structure design and materials of bone tissue engineering scaffolds and different 3D printing technologies for scaffold preparation were included, and repetitive and old articles were excluded. Final y, 37 articles were summarized. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Currently, 3D printing technologies used for preparation of bone tissue engineering scaffolds include melt laminated molding, stereolithography, selective laser sintering and 3DP technology. 3D printing technologies have unique advantages in mechanics, structure and personalized aspects, but there are stil many problems to be solved, such as raw materials, insufficiency of different 3D technologies, and improvement of 3D printer. Under the multi-disciplinary co-operation, 3D printing technology is expected to prepare suitable bone tissue engineering scaffolds and bring benefit to the mankind.

Objective To investigate the chromosome damage in peripheral lymphocytes of underground gold miners.Methods Conventional method and cytokinesis-block micronuclens assay were used to analyze frequency of chromosome aberrations and micronucleus in peripheral lymphocytes in 58 gold miners,respectively.Results Frequencies of chromosome-type aberrations,ehromatid-type aberrations and total aberrations were higher in the miners than those in the control group(0.72%,0.41%,1.16% vs 0.14%,0.18%,0.33,X2=44.322,9.501,50.476,P＜0.01).Both micronucleated cell rate and micronucleus rate were higher in the miners group than those in the control group(10.8‰ and 11.6‰ vs 8.7‰ and 9.0‰,X2=8.672,12.546,P＜0.01).Frequencies of chromosomal aberrations and micronucleus proportionally increased with underground working years.Compared with those miners who had worked underground 6 years or shorter,both frequencies were statistically higher among the miners who had worked underground for more than 21 years(P＜0.05).No difference was found among other groups of working years(P＞0.05).Compared with the control group,both frequencies increased in the miner group,and the differences were statistically significant(X2=2.395,P＜0.05 for chromosomal aberrations and X2=2.319,P＜0.05,respecfvely).The common types of chromosome aberrations were acentrie fragments,while chromatid break and dicenrics were subordinate.Conclusions Chromosomal damages were observed in the gold workers who exposed high radon in the underground mining.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects,adverse effects,and patterns of failure of elective irradiation of lymphatic drainage area (extended-field) and involved-field irradiation in three-dimensional radiotherapy (3DRT) in patients with esophageal cancer via a Meta-analysis.Methods The databases Wanfang Data,CNKI,VIP,CBM,PubMed,Embase,and Cochrane Library were searched to collect the controlled clinical trials on extended-field irradiation and involved-field irradiation in 3DRT in patients with esophageal cancer.Stata 11.0 was used for data analysis.The odds ratio (OR) with 95％ confidence interval was used to describe the differences between two groups.Results According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 12 controlled clinical trials involving 1 095 patients with esophageal cancer were included in this meta-analysis.The results of the meta-analysis showed that compared with the involved-field irradiation group,the extended-field irradiation group had a significantly reduced rate of out-field failure in patients with esophageal cancer who received 3DRT (OR=3.727,P=0.007),but showed significantly higher rates of grade ≥ 3 acute radiation pneumonitis and radiation esophagitis (acute radiation pneumonitis:OR =0.348,P =0.001;radiation esophagitis:OR =0.385,P =0.000).The two groups had similar 1-,2-,and 3-year local control rate and overall survival rate (local control rate:OR=0.966/0.946/0.732,P=0.837/0.781/0.098;overall survival rate:OR=0.952/1.149/0.768,P=0.756/0.422/0.120),as well as a similar distant metastasis rate (OR=0.986,P=0.937).Conclusions Compared with involved-field irradiation,extended-field irradiation can reduce the rate of out-field failure in patients with esophageal cancer who receive 3DRT.However,it does not have significant advantages in local control rate and overall survival rate and has an increased incidence rate of adverse effects.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and analyze relevant prognostic factors of simultaneous integrated boost intensity-modulated radiation therapy ( SIB-IMRT ) for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods A total of 101 patients diagnosed with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma received SIB-IMRT from 2009 to 2015. The prescribed dose of PTV was 5040 cGy/28 times ( 180 cGy/time) and the dose for planning gross tumor volume (PGTV) was 6020 cGy/28 times (215 cGy/time) or 6160 cGy/28 times ( 220 cGy/time) simultaneously. The total treatment time was 5. 5 weeks ( once a day, 5 times a week).The adverse events, mode of treatment failure,l-,3-and 5-year local control (LC) and overall survival ( OS) rates were observed. Results The quantity of patients who completed the 1-,3-and 5-year follow-up was 101, 84 and 45, respectively. The 1-,3-and 5-year LC rates were 81. 6％,70. 4％ and 68. 4％, respectively. The 1-, 3-and 5-year OS rates were 72. 3％, 49. 4％ and 45. 2％, respectively. The median survival time was 36 months. Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that clinical staging ( stageⅠ/Ⅱ/Ⅲ) and tumor response ( complete remission/ partial remission/no remission ) were the prognostic factors of OS (P=0. 016,0. 000,0. 005,0. 000).There were no significant differences in the LC and OS between the two groups of 215 cGy and 220 cGy (P=0. 283,0. 951).The incidence rates of grade 1,2,3 acute pneumonitis were 10. 9％(11/101),2. 0％(2/101) and 2. 0％(2/101), respectively. The incidence rates of grade 1, 2, 3 acute esophagitis were 63. 4％( 64/101 ) , 10. 9％( 11/101 ) and 4. 0％( 4/101 ) , respectively. No acute esophageal perforation or hemorrhage occurred. Five patients experienced late pneumonitis ( two died) . One case developed late lemostenosis, two cases developed esophageal perforation and hemorrhage, and two patients experienced esophageal hemorrhage. The patients treated with a fractionated dose of 220 cGy had a higher incidence rate of acute pneumonitis and upper gastrointestinal adverse reactions than those receiving 215 cGy ( P= 0. 062, 0. 024 ) . The local failure and recurrence accounted for 62. 5％ of all treatment-related failures. Conclusions SIB-IMRT yields high long-term clinical efficacy and tolerable adverse events in the treatment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Compared with the dose of 215 cGy, the fractionated dose of 220 cGy fails to improve LC and OS rates, whereas enhances the risk of adverse events. The clinical staging and short-term clinical efficacy are the prognostic factors of survival rate.

Leaves of Chrysanthemum morifolium were potential medicinal resource. The present study aims to estimate the main bioactive components: total flavonoids (TF), galuteolin (GA), quercitrin (QU), chlorogenic acid (CA) and 3 ,5-O-caffeoylquinic acid ( CQ), which were considered to be the main effective components, in leaves of C. morfolium cultivars in China. The TF content was estimated hy UV-VIS spectrophotometry, while GA, QU, CA, and CQ were quantitatively determined by HPLC. The highest TF content (7. 13% w/w) was found in cultivar Wan Cong (Shexian county). Cultivar Da Bo ( Bozhou county) had the highest GA content (33. 45 mg - g-1); Cultivar Hong Xin (Sheyang county) contained the highest QU content (29.25 mg · g(-1)); Cultivar Chang Ban (Sheyang county) had the highest CA content (13.14 mg ·(-1)). The maximum CQ content (7.35 mg · g(-1)) was observed in culti- r Da Yang ( Tongxiang county). Different cultivars of C. morfolium had significant difference in components, but the leaf and capitulum of C. morifolium. were found to possess similar chemical compositions. The high content of bioactive components in several cultivars suggested the potential utilization of C. morifolium leaves.

The first genetic linkage map of Salvia miltiorrhiza was constructed in 94 F1 individuals from an intraspecific cross by using simple sequence repeat (SSR), sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) and inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers. A total of 93 marker loci in the linkage map, consisting of 53 SSR, 38 SRAP and 2 ISSR locus were made up of eight linkage groups, covered a total length of 400.1 cm with an average distance of 4.3 cm per marker. The length of linkage groups varied from 3.3 -132 cm and each of them included 2-23 markers, separately. The result will provide important basis for QTL mapping, map-based cloning and association studies for commercially important traits in S. miltiorrhiza.

Objective To investigate a more perfect method for a nice outward appearance of the thumb(finger) reconstructed.Methods An artery pedicle composite flap from fibular side of the great toe is inlaid in the tibial(ventral) side of the free second toe for thumb reconstruction and the same free second toe with a distal part of metatarsal bone with a double-wings flap for finger reconstruction before transplantation. Results The reconstructed thumb(finger) gets a nice looking and normal function while no blight to the great toe occurred.Conclusion It is an effective new procedure in ameliorating outward appearance of the recon- structed thumb(finger) by transferring the free moulded second toe.

OBJECTIVETo develop an HPLC method for determination of two polyacetylenes, lobetyolin and lobetyolinin, in Herba Lobeliae Chinensis.

METHODC18 column was used with the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile and water. Linear gradient elution from 10% to 40% acetonitrile in 25 min was applied, at the flow rate of 1.0 mL x min(-1), the detection wavelength was at 267 nm.

RESULTLower contents of lobetyolin and lobtyolinin were found in collected samples of Herba Lobeliae Chinensis. The highest amounts of lobetyolin and lobetyolinin were found to be 0.461 and 0.436 mg x g(-1) in a sample procured from Hong Kong. However, there were no lobetyolin and lobetyolinin in some of the samples.

CONCLUSIONA simple and effective HPLC method to analyze the two polyacetylenes in Herba Lobeliae Chinensis was established. It could be applied for the quality control of this herb.
