Objective:To determine the in vitro release of two kinds of Changankang Pellets (Radix Astragall, Rhizama coptid) coated with Surelease and Eudragit respectively and verify their colon-targeted release in vivo through X-ray photography. Methods: Changankang Pellets were made by mixing the medical BaSO 4 powder and appropriate drugs together according to original produce and coat methods. After determining their in vitro release, they were tested in vivo by 2 volunteers. X-ray films were taken after appropriate time and analyzed to determine the location and status of these pellets inside healthy objects. Results: Pellets made by this way can carry drugs through stomach, intestine and targeted-release them in colon; the coating combined with pH-dependent and time-dependent Eudragit thin layer has better results. Conclusion: X-ray radiography applying BaSO 4 powder could be taken as a quality control method for colon-targeted release drugs. The preliminary results showed that Changankang Pellets met the requirements of colon-targeted release.

To explore the new method of discriminating Cistanche deserticola, Cynomorium songaricum and Orobanche pycnostachya by using PCR amplification of specific alleles. 30 samples of the different C. deserticola, 21 samples of C. songaricum and O. pycnostachya were collected. The total DNA of the samples were extracted, the ITS sequences from C. deserticola, C. songaricum and O. pycnostachya were amplified by PCR and sequenced unidirectionally. These sequences were aligned by using ClustulW. Specific primer was designed according to the ITS sequences of specific alleles, and PCR reaction system was optimized. Additionally, compare with the identification of specific PCR method and DNA sequence analysis method. The result showed that the 331 bp identification band for C. deserticola and the adulterants not amplified bands by a single PCR reaction, which showed good identification ability to the three species. PCR amplification of specific alleles can be used to identify C. deserticola, C. songaricum and O. pycnostachya successfully.

The Journal of Practical Medicine 2015;(13):2134-2137
Objective To explore the etiopathogenisis of fungal infections induced by systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods One hundred and forty-seven SLE patients with fungal infections during 2004-2013 were assigned as experimental group and the same number of SLE patients without infections were randomly selected as control group. Clinical and laboratory documents of these patients were comparatively analyzed. Results The fungal infections in SLE patients affected oral mucosa , lower respiratory tract and skin , and the pathogenic bacteria were mainly candida albicans. The wide application of glucocorticoid, immunosuppressants and antibiotics pushed the rise of incidence of fungal infections in SLE patients significantly. Conclusions The patients′ use of glucocorticoid , immunosuppressants and antibiotics attributes to a higher risk of fungal infections , especially infections by candida albicans. Fungus infection may raise the level of C4.

Objective To establish a new rat model of biliary atresia by pure ethanol injection into the common bile duct. Methods A catheter was inserted and fixed in the common bile duct in male SD rats .Saline (8 rats) or pure ethanol (16 rats) was injected through the catheter ,respectively, and the biochemical and pathological changes in the rats were examined .Results SD rats in the experimental group were divided into a persistent injury and a restoration of liver dysfunction groups according to pathological and biochemical detection .In the persistent injury group , biochemical impair-ments were significantly higher at 8 weeks after ethanol injection than those in the control group and restoration group .Dis-tinct pathological changes in the liver were observed using HE , SMA, and Masson staining .Conclusions It is a reliable animal model of biliary atresia induced by injection of pure ethanol into the common bile duct in the rat .It will provide a useful tool in future studies of biliary atresia .

The stems and branches of Hypericum petiolulatum were extracted by alcohol and liquid-liquid extraction. Seven furofuran lignans were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of ethanol extract of H. petiolulatum by using silica gelchromatography, Sephadex LH-20 chromatography, medium-pressure liquid chromatography and preparative HPLC. Their structures were identified by the spectroscopic methods as pinoresinol (1), medioresinol (2), 8-acetoxypinoresinol (3), epipinoresinol (4), (+)-syringaresinol (5), (+)-1-hydroxysyringaresinol (6) and erythro-buddlenolE (7). All the isolates were firstly found in H. petiolulatum. In the bioassay, compound 7 showed remarkable antioxidative activity inhibiting Fe(+2)-cystine induced rat liver microsomal lipid peroxidation with inhibitory rate 38% at a concentration of 1 x 10(-6) mol · L(-1) (positive control Vit E with the inhibitory rate of 35% at the same concentration).

Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2016;31(12):940-942
Objective To investigate the learning curve of laparoscopy-assisted anorectoplasty in the treatment of high imperforate anus. Methods Sixty patients with high congenital anal atresia who were treated with laparoscopy-assisted anorectoplasty in the Capital Institute of Pediatrics from December 2008 to October 2015 by one experience surgeon were selected as observation group.Based on the criteria, the patients were divided into 4 groups(15 cases in each group) according to the sequence of the operation and every 15 cases served as a learning phase. The operating time, frequency of operation, complication rate, conversion rate to open surgery, blood loss, the rates of blood transfusion and hospital stay were compared among the 4 phases. Results The mean operation duration was (176.3 ±41.6) min,(128.8 ± 36.1) min,(127.3 ± 35.2) min,(124.0 ± 30.1) min in group A,B,C and D,respectively. The operation duration of 4 groups showed a declining trend.Group A has longer operation time than group B,C and D,the difference were statistically significant (P < 0.05).In detail, the comparison of operation time between group A and group B was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Furthermore,group A had significantly more median blood loss than group B,C and D,the differences were statistically significant [the 4 groups of data, respectively, group A:(17.5 ±6.5) mL,group B:(15.0±5.0) mL,group C:(14.5 ±5.5) mL,group D:(8.5 ±6.5) mL,P<0.05].The mean capacity of blood loss was 12.7 mL.No significant difference was found in surgical complications, the rates of blood transfusion, total hospital stay, and postoperative hospital stay among the 4 groups(P > 0.05).But the postoperative hospital stay decreased from 9.8 d (group A) to 7.4 d (group D).Conclusions For a well-trained surgeon in imperforate anus surgery. The learning curve of laparoscopy-assisted anorectoplasty in the treatment of high imperforate anus on about 15 cases helps to make a skillful surgeon.

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2015;(6):493-496
ObjectiveTo explore the clinical application of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency thermocoagulaion in brachial plexus block.MethodsC5-C7 brachial plexus block was performed by 6-13 MHz high-frequency ultrasound probe in 65 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Visual analogue scale (VAS) score were compared before and after treatment.ResultsThe brachial plexus was showed clearly in 62 patients; however, 3 patients had to be confi rmed by nerve stimulation positioning. The percentage of successful rate is 100%. There was no operation related nerve injury and other complications. The VAS score of preoperation and 1st, 4th and 12nd week after treatment was 8.67±0.76, 3.58±0.62, 2.46±0.2 and 1.77±0.28, respectively. There were significantly difference between before and after treatment (t=58.71, 6.23, 107.72, allP<0.01).ConclusionThe brachial plexus block using radiofrequency thermocoagulaion combined with ultrasound guidance is a safe and radiation-free treatment and warrants to be promoted in clinical practices.
