1.The relationship between carotid intima-media thickness and coronary atherosclerosis plaque in asymptomatic individuals

Objective To investigate the relationship between carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and coronary atherosclerosis plaque through coronary CT angiography (CTA) in asymptomatic individuals.Methods Two hundred and fifty cases with CTA screened were selected in asymptomatic individuals,and according to the inspection result they were divided into no plaque group (detection of no coronary atherosclerosis plaque,180 cases) and plaque group (detection of coronary atherosclerosis plaque,70 cases).All cases were checked carotid IMT with B-ultrasonic.Results ANOVAs analysis showed that age and body mass index (BMI) had significant correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P < 0.05).x2 test was used to show the smoking and family history of coronary heart disease had significant correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P < 0.05).Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that carotid IMT,systolic pressure,diastolic pressure,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,fasting serum glucose and creatinine had significant correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P < 0.05).Multifactor Logistic regression analysis showed that carotid IMT had correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P < 0.05).Conclusion There is significant relationship between carotid IMT and coronary atherosclerosis plaque in asymptomatic individuals.
2.Endoscopic intraluminal closure of colon perforation with metal clip: a study in porcine model

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and safety of endoscopic intraluminal closure of small colon perforation with metal clips in porcine model.Methods A 2 cm full-thickness colon perforation was made in 4 bama mini-pigs.One did not receive local closure as a control, while 3 others underwent closure with bi-and tri-arm clips, one of which received additional fibrin glue injection after closure.Necropsy was done on day 14 after the procedure, and dye leak test, peritoneal fluid bacteria culture and histological examination were performed.During the 2 week observation period, the body temperature and blood leukocytes count were recorded and compared.Results Endoscopic closure of the colon perforation was technically successful in all 3 pigs.The body temperature and blood leukocyte count of these pigs were both lower than those of the control.Necropsy showed that the perforation in control pig was not completely closed and with multiple adhesions around.Perforation complete closure and pathological healing without adhesion were observed in 2 pigs with clip closure only, while adhesion and incomplete pathological healing was detected in the other one with clip closure plus fibrinogen injection (P<0.05).Conclusion Endoscopic intraluminal closure of a 2 cm colon perforation with metal clips is feasible and safe, while further study is needed to evaluate the effect of combined local fibrinogen injection.
3.The primary experience of an entire QA workflow management in radiotherapy

Objective To retrospectively review the history and development of radiotherapy quality assurance ( QA) in the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Fudan University, and to report the primary experience and evolvement of an entire QA workflow management. Methods The multidisciplinary QA team has implemented an entire QA workflow management process in the Radiotherapy Center using the failure modes and effects analysis ( FMEA) and plan?do?check?act ( PDCA) tool since April 2015. Treatment data of approximately 6000 patients before and after implementation were compared. Results The error rate was reduced from 17% to 09% after using the entire QA workflow management. Conclusions Entire QA workflow management effectively improves the accuracy and safety of radiotherapy.
4.Polymorphism of KIR gene family in Korean ethnic group of Jilin area.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the polymorphism of natural killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR)gene and the characteristics of its genotypes and haplotypes in Korean ethnic group of Jilin area, and to compare with that of Han nationality.
METHODSDNA samples randomly collected from 214 Han and 160 Korean populations were genotyped with PCR-SSP method, and KIR genotypes and haplotypes were assigned according to the standard model by Hsu et al.
RESULTSAll individuals contain KIR 3DL3, KIR 2DL4, KIR 3DL2 with the genotype frequency of 100%; the most common genotypes were 2DL1, 2DL3, 3DL1, 3DP1(*)003 and 2DP1; the genotypes with low frequency were 2DL2, 2DS2, 2DS3, 3DP1(*)001/002/004. Thirty-nine different KIR genotype and 16 haplotypes had been found in Korean and Han individuals. The most common KIR genotypes were AJ and AF with frequency of 18.1%, 19.4% and 31.8%, 19.6%, respectively. The most common KIR haplotype was haplotype 2 with frequency of 41.8% (n = 127) and 51.2% (n = 216) (P < 0.05), respectively.
CONCLUSIONKIR gene distribution in Jilin Korean ethnic group showed some common features of KIR gene polymorphisms in Chinese Han population, but also showed this nation's unique characteristics of KIR gene polymorphism.

5.Relationship between features of defense style and clinical symptoms of eating attitude in patients with ano-rexia nervosa

Objective To investigate the relationship between the characteristics of psychological defense style and clinical symptoms of eating attitude in patients with anorexia nervosa patients. Methods Totally 92 ca?ses ( 46 cases of restricting type,46 cases of binge?eating/purging type,48 cases of early onset before 16 years old, 44 cases of late onset after 16 years old) meeting the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,Forth Edition ( DSM?4) for anorexia nervosa (AN) were collected.92 gender?marriage?and education?matched normal cases in a psychiatric hospital were selected as the healthy control group(HC) .All were assessed with defensive style questionnaire(DSQ) and eating attitude test?26(EAT?26).DSQ and EAT?26 were compared between AN and HC,between early onset of AN( before 16 old years) and late onset of AN( after 16 old years) ,and between AN?R and AN?P.Then correlation study was done for the AN. Results Compared with HC,AN showed higher scores in the immature defense,neurotic defense ((4.49±1.13)vs (3.55±0.93),(4.33±0.76)vs (3.88±0.69), P<0.001), and higher EAT?26 median total and factor scores of dieting scale items,bulimia&food preoccupation scale items, oral control subscale items (P<0.01).Compared with AN?R,AN?P showed higher scores in the immature defense ((4.49±1.03)vs (4.79±1.13), P=0.01),and higher EAT?26 median total and factor score of bulimia&food pre?occupation scale items (P<0.05, P<0.01).The correlations between immature defense and EAT?26 total score,be?tween neurotic defense and EAT?26 total score were significant( r=0.472, P<0.001;r=0.315, P=0.002). The correlations between immature defense and EAT?26 dieting score, between neurotic defense and EAT?26 dieting score were significant( r=0.343, P<0.001, r=0.257, P=0.014).The correlations between immature defense and EAT?26 bulimia & food preoccupation score,between neurotic defense and EAT?26 bulimia & food preoccupation score were significant( r=0.523, P<0.001, r=0.267, P=0.010).The correlations between immature defense and duration were significant( r=0.375, P<0.001).The correlations between all defense factors and BMI were not sig?nificant( r=-0.15?0.25, P>0.05) . Conclusion AN patients tend to use more immature defense and neurotic de?fense compared with HC,and AN?P patients use more immature defense compared with AN?R. Immature defense and neurotic defense are related to the eating attitude,and the immature defense is related the duration.
6.Extract of Herba Siegesbeckiae on mouse rheumatoid arthritis induced by anthrogen-CIA monoclonal antibody.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of Herba Siegesbeckiae extracts on mouse rheumatoid arthritis induced by arthrogen-CIA monoclonal antibody.
METHODSThe rheumatoid arthritis was induced by arthrogen-CIA arthritogenic monoclonal antibody in mice. The sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the concentration of IL-1βin mouse serum,and the content of IL-6,IL-17 and MMP-3 in supernatant of tissue homogenate of hind limb below the stifle of mice. One-way ANOVA was used for data analysis.
RESULTSThe toe swelling was attenuated in Siegesbeckiae group than that in model group [(0.218 ± 0.0307)cm(3) compared with (0.2545 ± 0.0179)cm(3), P<0.05]. The serum IL-1β level in Siegesbeckiae group was lower than that in model group [(63.74 ± 21.74)pg/ml compared with (104.96 ± 31.22)pg/ml, P<0.01]. The contents of IL-6, IL-17 and MMP-3 in tissue supernatants of Siegesbeckiae group were all lower than those of model group [(171.10 ± 48.35)pg/ml compared with (249.64 ± 75.08)pg/ml, P<0.05; (115.42 ± 56.52)pg/ml compared with (208.40 ± 88.54)pg/ml, P<0.05;(3660.31 ± 1680.99) pg/ml compared with (5420.79 ± 1201.43)pg/ml, P<0.05, respectively].
CONCLUSIONThe extract of Herba Siegesbeckiae has anti-inflammatory effect on mouse rheumatoid arthritis induced by mixed arthrogen monoclonal antibody.

7.Manipulative reduction and percutaneous K-wires fixation for treatment of supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children.

OBJECTIVETo explore clinical effect of manipulative reduction and percutaneous K-wires fixation in treating supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children.
METHODSFrom July 2010 to December 2012, clinical data of 52 children with supracondylar fractures of the humerus, which treated with manipulative reduction and percutaneous K-wires fixation, were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, there were 35 males and 17 females with an average age of 6.7 (ranged from 2.5 to 12) years old. All fractures were type Garland II - III fractures, and 51 cases were extension type and 1 case were flexion type. Flynn evaluation standard of elbow performance score were applied to evaluate clinical effects.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 12 to 18 months with average of 16 months. According to Flynn evaluation standard of elbow performance score, 41 cases obtained excellent result, 8 good and 3 moderate.
CONCLUSIONManipulative reduction and percutaneous K-wires fixation for the treatment of supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children has many advantages, such as minimally invasive, rapid recovery, stable fixation. It could prevent osteofascial compartment syndrome, Volkmann Contracture and cubitus varus.

8.Study on process conditions of Forsytiae Fructus.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of different processing methods on the content and biological activity of main chemical constituents of Forsytiae Fructus, in order to provide the basis for rational processing of Forsytiae Fructus.
METHODThe content of extracts was determined by the extract determination method of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The effects of chemical constituents of Forsytiae Fructus under different processing conditions were compared by HPLC method. Furthermore, free radical scavenging DPPH method was used to assess the antioxidation effect, and the antibacterial effect of Forsytiae Fructus was evaluated according to the inhibition effect on staphylococcus aureus.
RESULTConsidering various factors, the optimum boiling process is that adding six-fold water and boiling for 8 min.
CONCLUSIONThe content and activity of chemical constituents of Forsytiae Fructus are significantly different under different processing conditions.

9.Fire-needle therapy for deglutition disorders in post-stroke pseudobulbar palsy:a randomized controlled trial

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of fire-needle therapy in treating deglutition disorders due to pseudobulbar palsy in the remission stage of stroke.Methods:Sixty-two eligible subjects were divided into a fire-needle group and a rehabilitation group by a simple randomization method at a ratio of 1:1.The two groups received same basic intervention;in addition,the fire-needle group received fire-needle treatment,while the rehabilitation group received rehabilitation training.The two groups of subjects all received a 3-week treatment and were evaluated by the dysphagia severity rating scale (DSRS),modified Mann assessment of swallow ability (MMASA) and Kubota Toshio swallow test (KTST) before and after the intervention.The complications and adverse events occurred during the trial were recorded.The data were statistically analyzed.Results:At the third week,the DSRS,MMASA and KTST scores changed significantly compared with the baseline in both groups (P<0.05),and the changes in the fire-needle group were more significant than those in the rehabilitation group (P<0.05).The between-group comparison at the third week showed that the therapeutic efficacy in the fire-needle group was superior to that in the rehabilitation group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Fire-needle therapy can obviously change the DSRS,MMASA and KTST scores in pseudobulbar palsy in the remission stage of stroke,and significantly enhance the therapeutic efficacy of the treatment of deglutition disorders in this stage.
10.Molecular identification of Mycobacterium clinically isolated strains of bacteria

ObjectiveTo establish the methodology for identification of clinical isolates of Mycobacterium and to identify the distribution of Mycobacterium species in hospitalized patients with tuberculosis in Heilongjiang province.It would provide the basis for accurate diagnosis of infections with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and non-tuberculous Mycobacterium (NTM) as well as for effective therapy.Methods Three hundred and thirty Mycobacterium isolates from 330 tuberculosis patients hospitalized and clinically diagnosed in Harbin Chest Hospital from May 2007 to December 2008 were collected.Genomic DNA from the isolates was extracted after inactivation of Mycobacterium.Molecular identification was carried out using PCR,PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and sequencing.ResultsAmong 330 clinical isolates,328 were identified as MTB complex (MTBC),accounting for 99.4% (328/330); 2 were NTM,accounting for 0.6% (2/330).Among 328 MTBC isolates,326were MTB,one was Mycobacterium Africanum(M.African) and one was Mycobacterium microti(M,microti),accounting for 99.4% (326/328),0.3% (1/328) and 0.3% (1/328),respectively.It was found that the homology between the two NTM isolates and Mycobacterium avium intracellulare (MAC)was 99% and 93%,respectively,suggesting that the two NTM isolates were MAC.The homology between the two NTM isolates was 93%.ConclusionsPCR plus PCR-RFLP and sequencing provides an ideal method for precise identification of Mycobacterium species.In the clinically diagnosed tuberculosis patients,the predominant Mycobacterium species is MTB,however M.African,M.microti as well as NTM are also found.
