Objective To explore the relationship between general self-efficacy sense and psycho-logical health of nursing staff. Methods 230 healthy nursing staff were investigated with self-rating de-pression scale, serf-rating anxiety scale and general serf-efficacy scale. Correlation analysis and t test were adopted to analyze the data. Results There was a negative correlation between the scores of general self-efficacy scale and the scores of self-rating anxiety and depression scale. Moreover, the scores of anxi-ety and depression of nursing staff with higher self-efficacy were higher than those with lower self-effica-cy. Conclusions Self-efficacy sense has positive effects on the level of psychological health of nursing staff. The higher self-efficacy sense will help maintain higher psychological health state.

When the glomerular mesangial cells of rats were cultured in vitro at high glucose concentration, the activity of extraeellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK),the expression of transforming growth factor-?_1(TGF-?_1)mRNA and the content of typeⅣcollagen in the supematant were higher than those at normal glucose concentration. These effects were inhibited by fluvastatin. The results showed that the activation of ERK signal transduction pathways appeared to play a role in the onset and progression of diabetic nephropathy. Furthermore, fluvastatin could protect the kidney by inhibiting ERK signal transduction pathway and TGF-?_1 expression.

Haizao Yuhu decoction (HYD) is a formula that has been used for approximately 500 years and famous for its efficiency in treating thyroid-related diseases in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). HYD was first presented by Chen Shi-gong in a famous surgical monograph named Waike Zhengzong during the Ming Dynasty. We conducted the research to investigate the possible pharmacokinetic profile of different prescriptions of HYD in rats, in order to reveal the interactions of Haizao and Gancao drug pair with other herbs in HYD. Liquiritin, naringin, besperidin, peimine, peiminine liquiritigenin, glycyrrhizic acid, hergapten, nobiletin, osthole, glycyrrhetinic acid in blood samples were determined by UPLC-MS/MS. The result revealed tbat Haizao could enhance the peak concentration of glycyrrhizic acid. The other herbs in HYD may promote'the absorption of flavonoids in Gancao in normal rats, but inhibit the absorption of saponins and accelerate their metabolism. Gancao and Haizao drug pair could enhance the bioavailability of hesperidin, peimine, bergapten, nobiletin and osthole and prolong the elimination of peimine and naringin.

The present study aims to investigate the lignan constituents from Sambucus williamsii and their proliferation effects on osteoblast-like UMR106 cells. Seven compounds were isolated and purified by macroporous resin D101, silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, Toyopearl HW-40, ODS column chromatographies and Preparative HPLC(C-18). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods as threo-guaiacylglycerol-beta-0-4'-conifery ether (1), lirioresinol A (2), 1-hydroxypinoresinol (3), 5-methoxybalanophonin (4), balanophonin (5), 5-methoxy-trans-dihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol (6), and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (7). Compounds 3-7 were obtained from this genus for the first time. The proliferation effects of all isolated compounds on osteoblast-like UMR106 cells were determined. Compounds 1-7 (1 x 10(-12)-1 x 10(-7) mol x L(-1)) increased UMR106 cell proliferation to some extent.

OBJECTIVETo report the application of medial neurocutaneous flap with perforator vessel in upper arm.
METHODSBased on the perforator vessel of medial deep main blood vessel in upper arm and blood supply of neurocutaneous flap, as well as their interrelation with vascularity of fascia skin, we designed the medial neurocutaneous flap with perforator vessel in upper arm to repair skin defects in shoulder, arm and elbow joint in 5 cases.
RESULTSAll the flaps survived completely with primary healing. The patients were followed up for 6-12 months. The contour of flaps and the function of shoulder and elbow joint were satisfactory.
CONCLUSIONThe neurocutaneous flap has a reliable blood supply and easily performed. It is very desirable for repairing skin defect in upper extremity.

BACKGROUND: Particulated juvenile cartilage allograft is simple and easy to obtain, and relevant clinical studies are underway in the USA. However, how the transplanted juvenile cartilage fragments exert biological effects through biochemical mechanisms and genetic signal transduction is still unclear. There is as yet no report on this technology in China. OBJECTIVE: To explore the feasibility of articular cartilage defects repaired with particulated juvenile cartilage allograft. METHODS: The cartilage fragments were obtained from juvenile Pitman-Moore strains (provided by the Laboratory Animal Center of the Army Medical University in China) and cultured in vitro. Brdu immunofluorescence assay was performed at 1, 3, and 7 days of culture. The particulated juvenile cartilage allograft/fibrin gel composites were subcutaneously transplanted into the SCID rats (provided by the Laboratory Animal Center of the Army Medical University). The specimens were taken for hematoxylin-eosin staining, safranin O staining and immunohistochemistry after 1 month. Cartilage defects of 8 mm in diameter were made in the knee joint of 10 adult Pitman-Moore strains (Laboratory Animal Center of the Army Medical University), and were randomized into two groups, which were then transplanted with the particulated juvenile cartilage allograft/fibrin gel composites (experimental group) or nothing (control group). The specimens were taken for hematoxylin-eosin staining, safranin O fast green staining, toluidine blue and immunohistochemistry at 3 months after transplantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Little Brdu incorporation was detected in juvenile cartilage fragments at 1 day of culture, some Brdu incorporation was defected at 3 days of culture. At 7 days of culture, a progressive increase in the Brdu signal was detected in chondrocytes within the cultured cartilage fragments, which seemed to localize along the tissue edge. At 1 month after subcutaneous transplantation, the particulated juvenile cartilage allograft still survived and were surrounded by few proliferative chondrocytes. There was no obvious tissue repair in the control group at 3 months after transplantation. In the experimental group, there was obvious tissue repair, the color of the newly formed tissues was similar to the normal cartilage tissue, which integrated well with the surrounding normal cartilage tissue, and the cells distributed evenly. These results imply that particulated juvenile cartilage allograft can achieve good results in repairing articular cartilage defects.

Tibet orbivirus (TIBOV) was identified as a novel orbivirus in 2014. Antibodies against TIBOV were detected in cattle, Asian buffalo, and goats, while all the sequenced TIBOV strains were isolated from mosquitos and Culicoides. The known TIBOV strains have been classified into four putative serotypes. In this study, two TIBOV strains isolated from Culicoides spp. in Shizong County of Yunnan Province, China, were fully sequenced. The phylogenetic analysis of outer capsid protein 2 (VP2) indicated that these two viral strains belong to two novel putative serotypes of TIBOV. The updated putative serotypes may help in an investigation of the distribution and virulence of TIBOV.

Objective To explore the clinical skills and curative efficacy of endovascular embolization on dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF). Methods A total of 50 patients with DAVF,admitted to our hospital from 2000 to 2009, underwent endovascular embolization with different materials through a microcatheter under DSA. After embolization, imaging examination was applied and clinical manifestations were noted during the clinical follow-up to evaluate the clinical efficacies. Results Immediate postoperative angiography indicated that the fistulas were totally occluded in 43patients, occluded evidently in 6 and occluded partially in 1. The 6-84 months follow-up found that clinical symptoms of 34 patients disappeared, 6 alleviated evidently, 7 relapsed, and 3 worsened; no complications were noted. Conclusion The endovascular embolization for DAVF is effective; and choosing the right embolic approach and material and improving the technology are the keys of successful treatment.
