Objective: To obtain the data of dental measurements in healthy Mongolia teenages.Methods: Normal dentognathic models were obtained by cephalometric roentgenography in 56 teenages (30 boys and 26 girls) aged 10～17 years. The width of the tooth crown, the size of the dental arch and dental base bone were measured with a vernier. The measurments were statistically analysed.Results: The tooth crown in boys was wider than that in girls( P 0.05). There was no significant difference in Bolton index and Point index between boys and girls.Conclusion: The dental measurments may be refrences for dental clinic and research.

Objective To know the status of microbial contamination in filtrated water and edible ice used in food processing,and to provide experimental basis for the management of HACCP of filtrated water and edible ice. Methods The samples of water and ice were collected from a western style restaurant in Changchun. The microbial indicators were tested based on Standard Examination Methods for Drinking Water(2001). Results Results In the third quarter, 37.8%, 32.4%, 13.5% of total bacterium counts, total coliform counts, feces coliform counts of the water samples was unqualified. Conclusion The filtrated water and edible ice used in restaurants can be contaminated by microbes in degree. It is necessary for HACCP of filtrated water involved coliform counts contamination to carry out dynamic monitoring.

Background Epithelial-mesenchymaltransition (EMT)isamajorcontributortothe pathogenesis of posterior capsular opacification(PCO).Kruppel-like factor 6 (KLF6) is a zinc finger protein,which can be stimulated by high glucose in proximal tubule cells and involved in transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β)induced EMT of diabetic nephropathy.ObjectiveThis study was designed to investigate the effect of high glucose on the expression of KLF6 and its target genes( TGFB1,TGFBR1,COLIA1,HSP47) in human lens epithelial cells (LECs).MethodsHuman LECs(SRA01/04) were cultured and exposed to different concentration of glucose.The expressions of KLF6 mRNA and protein were analyzed by real time polymerase chain reaction( real time PCR) and western blot after treatment with high glucose.The expressions of KLF6 target genes were analyzed by real time PCR to evaluate the EMT of SRA01/04 cells.ResultsCompared with the control group(5.5 mmol/L),the relative mRNA levels of t-KLF6 and wt-KLF6 in SRA01/04 treated with high glucose(22.2,44.4,66.6 mmol/L) increased obviously (F =72.53,42.02,P＜0.01 ).Then,the concentration of 22.2 mmol/L was used in the next experiments.The relative mRNA levels of t-KLF6 and wt-KLF6 increased to the peaks after treatment with high glucose for 12 h,and began to decrease after 24 h until lower levels after 48 h ( F =100.12,125.52,P ＜ 0.01 ).Western blot showed that the expression of KLF6 protein was also upregulated by high glucose treatment.With the promotion of the expression of KLF6 gene,the relative mRNA levels of TGFB1,TGFBR1,COLlAl and HSP47 of treated cells also respectively increased after treatment for 12 h,and began to decrease after 24 h until nearly at the levels of the control groups after 48 h( F=6.73,162.35,64.39,12.05,P＜0.05 ).ConclusionsIt was concluded that high glucose induced the expression of KLF6 in human LECs,and KLF6 transiently stimulated the expression of target genes TGFB1,TGFBRl,COLlAl and HSP47 which were mainly involved in the mechanism of EMT.

In this paper the species of ethnic medicinal plants Orobanche, Cistanche and Boschniakia, and their ethnopharmaceutical uses were comprehensively summarized by field investigation, systematical data analysis and comparison of relevant specimen and references. The results showed that six plants belonging to Orobanche were used as seven kinds of ethnic medicinal plants, two plants attributing Boschniakia were used as ten kinds of ethnic medicinal plants, two plants of Cistanche were used as three ethnic medicinal plants. The same plant was often used as different ethnic medicine in varied ethnic minorities. The effects of the ethnic medicines included yang-tonifying, hemostasis and analgesic activities. Hence, it is necessary to develop the rich plant resource of Orobanche for alleviation of Cistanche resources shortage.

BACKGROUND:How to reduce the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases is an urgent concern in the field of public health.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the influence of adenovirus-mediated NSF-siRNA release from vesoactive substance on the cardiac function of a rat model of myocardial infarction.
METHODS:A total of 36 adult Sprague-Dawley rats were applied to establish acute myocardial infarction models by ligating the anterior descending branch of the left coronary artery. After the model was determined by electrocardiogram successful y, NSF-siRNA adenovirus (experimental group), negative adenovirus (control group) and normal saline (normal saline group) were injected near the infarct area of the left ventricle of rats respectively. After 2 weeks, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was tested with noninvasive ultrasonic cardiogram. Meanwhile, the left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) and maximum pressure rising speed of left ventricular (dp/dt max) were detected by connecting the right external carotid artery place pipe to the BL-420 biological function experiment system, to evaluate the cardiac function. Subsequently, the rat heart was harvested for serial sections to observe the infarcts range.

Objective The CYP19 gene product enzyme aromatase mediates the conversion of the androgen testosterone to es -tradiol.The aim of this study is to investigate whether the CYP19A1 gene single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is associated with the susceptibility to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and serum hormone levels. Methods We conducted a case-controlled study, which included 373 PCOS patients and 313 healthy controls.We genotyped SNP rs2899470 in the subjects using the polymerase chain re-action-restriction fragment length polymorphism ( PCR-RFLP) method and analyzed the frequencies of genotypes and alleles as well as the association of different genotypes with age , menarchal age, body mass index (BMI), and serum levels of hormones. Results The gen-otypic distributions of rs2899470 GG, TG, and TT in the PCOS women were 44.5%, 49.6%, and 5.9%, respectively, significantly dif-ferent from 39.3%, 48.6%, and 12.1%in the healthy controls (P=0.013).The frequency of the G allele was 69.3%in the former, remarkably higher than 63.6%in the latter (P=0.025).The rs2899470 genotypic frequencies were associated with the serum E 2/T lev-els in the PCOS patients. Conclusion SNP rs2899470 in the CYP19A1 gene is associated with the susceptibility to PCOS , and so is the genotype of rs2899470 with serum E2/T levels, which may be attributed mainly to the reduced activity of aromatase .

Objective To investigate the effects of allogenic intra-bone marrow bone marrow transplantation (IBM-BMT) on re-establishing hematopoiesis in mice. Methods Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMNCs) from BALB/ c mice were transplanted into the C57BL/6 mice treated with a lethal dose of ~(60)Coγ-ray radiation through intra-bone marrow injection or intravenous injection. Sixty of the C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into three groups as higher dose intra-bone marrow injection group (IBM1 group), lower dose intra-bone marrow injection group (IBM2 group) and intravenous injection group (IV group). The nucleated cell numbers of whole bone marrow from the tibia of each recipient mouse were counted respectively at the day 1, day 3, day 6 and day 9 after the transplantation. The donor-derived total nucleated cells and myeloid cells were quantified by flow cytometry. Results At 6th day after transplantation, more total bone marrow nucleated cells, total donor-derived nucleated cells and donor-derived myeloid cells in the tibia of injected side in both IBM1 group and IBM2 group were found than that in IV group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Compared with traditional bone marrow transplantation (IV-BMT),IBM-BMT improves the bone marrow hematopoiesis in the early hematopoietic re-establishing stage in allogenic bone marrow transplantation.
