1.Question discussion on Theories of Different Schools of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, "the twelfth five-year plan" teaching material.

The several questions in Theories of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of Different Schools, "the twelfth five-year plan" teaching material, are analyzed and discussed. The expression of DOU Han-qing on "playing a role of meridians, collaterals, qi and blood" is not so accurate, which is suggested to modify as "attaching the importance to needles". "Theory of heaven, human being and earth" "theory of acupuncture on qi regulation" and "the eight therapeutic methods in treatment of disease" in Jinzhenfu (Ode to Golden Needles) are valuable academically and suggested to be supplemented. The expression of XI Hong on "reinforcing and reducing technique by following or against the running course of meridian" and the expression of XU Feng on "the magic turtle eight techniques" are not concrete. It is required to elaborate them in detail. These questions are put forward and needed to discuss with the editors so as to perfect the teaching material.

2.Reservation of shelves for relocation of books

Calculation and reservation of shelves are the key issues to the relocation of books.In order to provide evidence for the relocation of books, shelves for the books to be relocated were calculated by deriving their classifi-cation number, pages, binding and layout from the automatic management system in combination with the growth of books and their added length in the past 5 years, which thus helped us successfully remove the books from the old library to the new library .
3.The effects of isoflurane anesthesia on the medium-and long-term cognitive function in mice at different months of ages

Objective To study the effects of isoflurane anesthesia on the medium- and longterm cognitive function in mice at different months of age. Methods Male C57BL/6J mice at ages of 4 month (n =45)and 20 month (n 45) were randomly assigned to control group,short- term anesthesia and long term anesthesia groups,respectively (n=15 per group).Inhalation anesthesia was applied with 3% isoflurane for induction and 1.2 % isoflurane for maintain in 30 % oxygen,and control group received 30% oxygen only for 60 min.Short- and long- term anesthesia group anesthesia was maintained for 30 min and 60 min,respectively.Cognitive function was determined by alternative behavior and water maze.Alternative behavior was assessed at 1 d before ancsthesia and 7,14 and 28 d after anesthesia,and water maze was assessed from 7 d to 8 d,9 d,10 d,11 d and 28 d after anesthesia. Results The correct rate of alternative behavior at age of 4 month in long-term anesthesia group [(58=6)%] was lower than relative control [(69±9)%] (t=4.26,P<0.01) at 28 d.The number of arm entries at age of 20 month in short- term anesthesia group (31 ± 6) was increased than control(24±6) and long-term anesthesia group (24±8)(F=5.34,P<0.01) at 14 d after anesthesia,while the number in long-term anesthesia group (24± 6) was decreased than control (29±7) and short term anesthesia group(30±6)(F=3.29,P<0.05) with no significant difference in correct rate at 28 d after anesthesia.There was no difference in latent time of water maze between groups at age of 4 month.The ratios of spent time in the target quadrant to the whole time at age of 4 month at 11 d and 28 d after anesthesia in short-term anesthesia group[( 36.6 ± 14.4)%,(34.7 ±9.5)%] and long term anesthesia group [( 36.8 ± 16.4)% ,(31.8± 12.0)%] were reduced as compared with control [(49.5±8.8) %,(42.8±12.2) %] (F=3.31,3.30,all P<0.05).The latent time of mice at age of 20 month at 11 d after anesthesia in short-term anesthesia[(31±6)s] and longterm anesthesia group [(30±7)s ] were longer than control [(23±6)s](F =3.34,P<0.05).There were no differences in the ratios of spent time in the target quadrant to the whole time and the number of cross -platform among the groups. Conclusions Isoflurane anesthesia may impact the mediumand long- term cognitive funclion in mice at ages of 4 month and 20 month.

6.Differential diagnosis and treatment of hyponatremia after the tumor resection in the region of sella turcica

Objective To study the etiology, differential diagnosis and effective treatment of hyponatremia after the tumor resection in sellar area. Methods 25 patients with tumor in sellar area which have suffered hyponatremia after surgery were retrospectively analyzed. Among them 14 cases were underwent a whole resection, 6 cases great part resection, and 5 cases partial resection. Water and blood sodium and central vein pressure in these patients were daily examined after surgery. Methods of treatment were adopted according to the results of examination. Results All the patients have suffered hyponatremia after surgery, accounting for 21.4% of all patients with tumors in sellar area in the same period. There are 10 of syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) and 15 of cerebral salt wasting syndrome (CSWS). Twenty-four patients were cured, one died of pneumonia(ARDS). Conclusions After surgery, the hyponatremia is prone to emergence in the patients with tumors in sellar area and simultaneously invading the hypothalamus. SIADH and CSWS are easily confused in clinical diagnosis, so a careful differentiation should always be done and followed a right therapy.
7.Changes of serum vascular endothelial growth factor levels in a rat model of acute myocardial infarction

AIM and METHODS: To study the changes of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels in a rat model of acute myocardial infarction (MI) and its significance. Eighty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats were used in this study. MI was produced by left coronary arterial ligation in 80 animals, and eight rats undergoing thoracotomy but not coronary ligation served as controls (sham).Blood samples were drawn from the right atrium before (sham animals) and 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 hours and 2, 3, 5, 7, 14 days after MI( n =8,respectively). Serum VEGF concentrations were measured by a sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with a rabbit polyclonal antibody specific for VEGF. 8.Development of a grinding instrument for the dental enamel polishing

Objective: To develop a grinding intrument for removing the remaining bonding material and polishing the dental enamel after orthodontic treatment. Methods: A dental griding instrument was made based on ultrasonic principle with the frequency of 25~45 kHz. 60 premolars extracted for orthodontic purpose were used in the experiment, before treatment the surface roughness was measured and recorded as Ra 1. Brackets were adhered to the premolars, and then debonded. The surface enamel of 30 teeth were polished by the ultrasonic grinding instrument (group of GI), that of another 30 by conventional technique(group of CT) , the roughness was measured and recorded as Ra 2. Objective: To study stress distribution and displacement by different distract directioos on mandibular corpus with finite element method. Methods:A three-dimensional finite element model of mandibular distraction osteogenesis was established.Von Mises stress as well as the displac ement of gnathion and gonion under different loads were measured. Result s:The stress and displacement were positively related with distract forc e. Von Mises stress primarily accumulated in distracted areas and were higher un der bilateral distraction parallel to the occlusial plane. Gnathion and gonion w ere positively displaced on X and Z axes and negatively displaced on Y axis. Distraction parallel to the mandibular body induced positive displaceme nt of mandible on X and Y axes and negative on Z axis. Concl usion:Transversal displacement to the opposite side is greater during un ilateral distraction, while displacement on the saggittal plane is greater durin g bilateral distraction.
10.Investigation of the resistant mechanism of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae

Objective To investigate the molecular mechanism of Klebsiella pneumoniae resistant to imipenem.Methods Anti-microbial susceptibility was evaluated by disk diffusion test,Seven imipenem-resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae were select-ed.And PCR was used to amplify so as to detect eighteen resistant genes.Results Seven imipenem-resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae were more sensitive to aminoglycosides and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim.The positive rates of KPC,ant(3′′)-Ⅰ, SHV,CTX-Mand ant(2′′)-Ⅰin these imipenem-resistant strains were high.Conclusion Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumon-iae isolated from our hospital carries several kinds of resistant genes.Carrying KPC may be the main resistant mechanism of Kleb-siella pneumoniae resistant to carbapenem,but other mechanisms also exist at the same time.
