To evaluate the efficacy of a variety of lacrimal duct obstruction diseases treated by Nd: YAG laser lacrimal duct forming surgery using Meta analysis.
●METHODS: Relevant database in 1995 - 2012 and other network resources were retrieved by computer and manual, using MetaAnalyst software on the Meta analysis. Analysis of indicators: disease prevalence between men and women, the prevalence of various lacrimal duct diseases and the effective rate of Nd: YAG laser lacrimal duct forming surgery to treat a variety of lacrimal duct obstruction diseases.
●RESULTS: According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 38 subjects were selected, the cumulative number of patients included 4638 cases, the men combined prevalence was 23%; the women combined prevalence was 77%; lacrimal punctum occlusion combined prevalence was 6. 0%, combined treatment efficiency was 88. 1%; lacrimal canaliculus obstruction combined prevalence of 17. 9%, combined efficiency was 85. 6%;lacrimal common canaliculus obstruction combined prevalence was 14. 0%, 92. 7% of the combined effective rate; nasolacrimal duct obstruction combined prevalence of was 43. 6%, 93. 3% of the combined effective rate;chronic dacryocystitis combined prevalence was 18. 4%, 76. 6% of the combined efficiency. All study has heterogeneity. Selection of random effects model combined effect size. Model was statistically significant (P<0. 001).
●CONCLUSlON: The prevalence of lacrimal duct obstruction diseases of women are higher than men, lacrimal canaliculus obstruction in the lacrimal duct obstruction is in the lowest prevalence, nasolacrimal duct obstruction is the main type of lacrimal duct obstruction disease, Nd: YAG laser lacrimal forming surgery has slightly efficacy different in various lacrimal duct obstruction diseases.

BACKGROUND:It is reported that gelatin sponge particles and chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres have high application prospects in the treatment of hemoptysis of pulmonary tuberculosis.METHODS: Forty SPF Kunming mice were selected to make animal models of pulmonary tuberculosis hemoptysis using aerosolized inhalation device and randomly divided into two groups undergoing embolization for hemostasis using gelatin sponge particles and chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres, respectively. Body mass changes, hemostasis time, effective rate of hemostasis, related indexes of myocardium and pathological changes of pulmonary tuberculosis were observed at 15 and 30 days after treatment.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Mice in the chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres group had higher body mass than those in the gelatin sponge group at 15 days after treatment (P < 0.05). (2) Compared with the gelatin sponge group, the hemostatic efficiency was higher and the time of hemostasis was shorter in the chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres group (P< 0.05). (3) There were no significant differences in the levels of BNP precursor, creatine kinase isoenzyme and creatine kinase between the two groups (P > 0.05). (4) The lymphocyte infiltration and necrotic lesions were found around the microspheres, necrotic lesions were found, and there were a lot of active cells on the microspheres. There were a few lymphocytes in the gelatin sponge group. These results show that that the chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres have better hemostatic effects in comparison with gelatin sponge particles in a mouse model of pulmonary tuberculosis.

Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between phosphotyrosine interac-tion domain containing 1 ( PID1 ) gene and variation in intramuscular fat ( IMF ) content and the possibility to generate transgenic animals by testicular injection .Methods Expression vector pIRES2-acGFP-PID1 carrying pig PID1 gene was incubated with transfection reagents and injected into the testes of male New Zealand rabbits .We examined the F1 genera-tion by fluorescence detection , PCR, Western blotting and measuring the IMF content .The F1 generation gave birth to the F2 generation.Then we examined the F2 generation through detecting the positive rate and the IMF content .Results The exogenous PID1 gene and fluorescent protein gene were expressed at different levels both in the F 1 generation and the F2 generation, and the positive rates were 35.88%and 34.33%, respectively.The IMF content was significantly elevated (P<0.05) in the transgenic positive individuals compared with the negative ones and the control group , and the PID1 protein expression was similarly higher .Conclusions The results of this study demonstrate that PID 1 gene affects intramuscular fat content significantly .Moreover, the results of our analysis provide further evidence that transgenic animals can be gener -ated by testicular injection , and the exogenous gene can be inherited steadily .

The changes of carotid intima media thickness (cIMT) in type 2 diabetic patients with vitamin D insufficiency and subclinical macrovascular disease after 12 months' intervention therapy with calcitriol were observed.86 patients with vitamin D insufficiency [25 (OH) D＜30 ng/ml] and subclinical macrovascular disease were randomized to group A (n =44,treated with 0.5 μg/day calcitriol) or group B (n =42,blank control) for 12 months.40 patients in each group completed the follow up.After 12 months of therapy with calcitriol (0.5 μg.qd.po.),levels of high sensitive-Creactive protein,sCD36,and cIMT were significantly decreased,while 25 (OH) D and ankle brachial index were significantly increased (P＜0.05) in group A,suggesting that calcitriol could improve cIMT in patients with vitamin D insufficiency and subclinical macrovascular disease.

Objective · To evaluate the surgical outcome of RPR composite technique for complex hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Methods · From June 2009 to December 2015, 9 complex HOCM patients received RPR procedure. There were 6 males and 3 females with age from 22 to 63 years old and the average age of (43±19) years old. Transthorax echocardiography (TTE) showed systolic anterior motion (SAM) and at least moderate mitral valve regurgitation (MR) in all patients before operations. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) was used to evaluate the results of procedures during operation. All the patients had been followed up since one week after operation and examined by TTE. Results · All the patients were discharged without complications. Intraoperative TEE indicated that left ventricular outflow tract pressure gradient (LVOTPG) significantly decreased from (92±14) mmHg before operation to (9±3) mmHg after operation (P<0.01). SAM in all the patients disappeared. One week after operation, TTE demonstrated remarkable reduction in the thickness of ventricular septum, LVOTPG and MR than those before operation (P<0.01). Mean follow-up was 26 months. All the patients became asymptomatic. LVOTPG remained low and MR remained mild. There were no deaths, reoperations, or any other adverse consequences. Conclusion · RPR technique is an effective surgical method to relieve LVOTO and MR of complex HOCM to lead a better life.

Objective To investigate the relationship of BPH in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus with age,weight,blood glucose levels.Methods Totally 141 cases with type 2 diabetes and BPH in elderly patients were discussed.Glucose level,the international prostate symptom score (IPSS),prostate volume (PV) and maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax) were determined.Results The levels of IPSS(10.9±2.5 vs.16.4±3.0,P＜0.01; 10.9±2.5 vs.19.4±3.3,P＜0.05) and PV(43.3±7.7 vs.47.9±10.5,43.3±7.7 vs.48.1±8.6,both P＜0.05) were increased in age group of 70-79 years and age group ≥ 80,Qmax in age≥ 80 years was decreased (12.0±2.6 vs.8.5±1.4,P＜0.05) compared with age group of 60-69 years.In contrast to BMI ≤ 24 kg/m2 group,IPSS score,PV and HOMA-IR were increased in BMI ≥ 28 kg/m2 (9.8±3.4 vs.18.8±4.1,P＜0.01; 41.1±10.8 vs.49.1±11.4,1.87±1.1 vs.3.89±2.0,P＜ 0.05).IPSS and PV were higher (12.6±5.7 vs.16.9±4.2,42.9±9.7 vs.48.3±10.6,P＜0.05),Qmax was lower (11.7±1.9 vs.9.0±1.6,P＜0.05) in patients with HbA1c ≥7％ versus HbA1c＜7％.Conclusions Age,obesity,high blood glucose and insulin resistance can promote the progress of BPH in the elderly newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients.Therefore,control of weight,and lowering the glycosylated hemoglobin may inhibit the progress of BPH.

Pig copper zinc superoxide dismutase (CuZnSOD) is an important antioxidant enzyme. Some studies focused on the function of CuZnSOD gene, but the transcriptional regulation of the CuZnSOD gene is not yet fully elucidated. Therefore, the aims of the study were to determine the core promoter region and to explore its mechanism of transcriptional regulation. The 853 bp DNA sequence of 5'-flanking promoter was amplified by performing PCR. A series of CuZnSOD promoter fragments with gradually truncated 5'-end were produced by nested PCR and inserted into pGL3-Basic vector. The activities of the promoters were measured by the dual-luciferase assay system after transient transfection into the NIH/3T3 cells. The results demonstrated that there were 2 potential transcription start sites in the regions from initiation codon to -87 bp and -266 bp, respectively. The region from -383 bp to +67 bp in CuZnSOD gene promoter showed higher activity than other regions, and further deletion analysis demonstrated that the region from -75 bp to -32 bp contained an essential promoter sequence for pig CuZnSOD gene transcription. In addition, several potential transcription factor binding sites were predicted with bioinformatics method. These results suggest that these transcription factor binding sites may be involved in the transcriptional regulation of CuZnSOD gene.

Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of notifiable infectious diseases reported in Zhejiang Province in 2020 for prevention and control. Methods: Data of notifiable infectious diseases reported in Zhejiang Province in 2020 were extracted from China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. The incidence and death of notifiable infectious diseases were analyzed and compared with the averages from 2015 to 2019; then the characteristics of some key diseases such as coronavirus disease 2019 ( COVID-19 ), influenza and other infectious diarrhea were summarized. Results: Totally 487 271 cases of 30 kinds of infectious diseases were reported. The incidence and mortality rate was 832.94/100 000 and 0.615 4/100 000, which were 7.05% and 14.60% lower than the average value of 2015-2019.The weekly morbidity of Class A and Class B infectious diseases fluctuated between 1.24/100 000 and 3.68/100 000, and hit the bottom in the sixth to eighth week. The morbidity of Class C infectious diseases was 154.19/100 000 in the first week, then dropped to 4.83/100 000 in the second to sixth week and maintained at a low level. High morbidity of infectious diseases were reported in Hangzhou ( 1 412.62/100 000 ), Jinhua ( 960.35/100 000 ) and Ningbo ( 921.25/100 000 ). The morbidity of class C infectious diseases in Hangzhou was 1 248.80/100 000, which was far higher than that of other ten prefecture-level cities. The diseases with high reported morbidity were influenza (438.45/100 000), other infectious diarrhea (140.29/100 000 ), hand-foot-and-mouth disease ( 99.64/100 000 ), pulmonary tuberculosis ( 41.92/100 000 ), syphilis (41.37/100 000) and viral hepatitis ( 30.48/100 000 ). More deaths were reported in AIDS and pulmonary tuberculosis, and the mortality were 0.482 1/100 000 and 0.116 2/100 000. A total of 1 306 confirmed cases, 302 asymptomatic infections and 1 death of COVID-19 were reported. Conclusion In 2020, the incidence rate of notifiable infectious diseases in Zhejiang decreased compared with the average value of 2015-2019. Pulmonary tuberculosis, syphilis and hepatitis B still have high morbidity, and the COVID-19 epidemic spread widely. The morbidity of some respiratory infectious diseases and imported infectious diseases have dropped significantly compared with previous years.

In order to observe the damaged nerve successively, we used superficial magnetic stimulation motor evoked potential (MEP) in the pathological model of chronic compressed nerve of the cervical nerve roots of cats. We synthesized various change of the pathomorphology of the nerve damaged to different degrees, and discussed the relationship between the MEP and the pathomorphologic change of chronic compressed nerve roots. The results showed that the initial pathologic change of nerve with myelin was degeneration of myelin shealth. The MEP of the nerve also showed increased latency and dispersed wave forms. After that the axon of the demylinated nerve degenerated, splitted and had a peripheral Wallerian Degeneration. The MEP showed an increased latency along with decreased amplitude. The degree of the MEP's change accompanyed with pathologic change. So we believe that the magnetic compressed nerve. It has some reference value in figuring out the damage by analysing factors.
