Purpose:To assess the security and efficacy of mechanical recanalization and stenting of lilac arteries with complete occlusions without preceding thrombolytic therapy. Materials and methods:During a 3-year period,Eighteen consecutive patients underwent mechanical reeanalization and stenting for complete occlusion of the iliac artery.The method involved recanalizition with a guide wire and a catheter advanced as a while unit through the occluded segment(snowplow technique).Results The occluded segments were successfully traversed and dilated and 32 stents were placed in 18 patients.The mean ankle-brachial index (BAI)increased from 0.39?0.33 before the procedure to 0.86?0.13 after the procedure(P

Objective: To observe the effects of zinc deficiency on peripheral blood lymphocyte phenotypic distribution and the balance between Th1 and Th2 cells in growing rats. Methods: Two-color cytofluorometric analysis was used. Results: Compared with zinc adequate (ZA) and paired-fed (PF) groups, peripheral blood lymphocytes in zinc deficient (ZD) rats had higher percentage of CD8+ cells (cytolytic T cells), lower percentage of CD4+ cells (T helper cells) and lower percentage of CD45RA+ cells (pure B lymphocytes).In addition, zinc deficiency selectively caused reduction of Th1-like CD45RC+CD4+ cells , but Th2-like CD45RC-CD4+cells had no significant changes in weanling rats. Zinc supplementation could reverse these changes. Conclusion: Dietary zinc deficiency leads to changes of lymphocyte phenotypic distribution and the imbalance of Th1 and Th2 subsets. These changes are reversible.

Objective: To study the mechanism and effect of Chinese medicine Yiqi Tongyang Huatan prescription(益气通阳化痰方,YQTYHT) on hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis(AS).Methods: The rabbit′s model was established by feeding the food containing high cholesterol,and 32 rabbits were randomly divided into four groups(each n=8): normal group,model group,Huoxue Huayu prescription treatment group(活血化瘀方,HXHY group) and YQTYHT treatment group(YQTYHT group).Before the experiment,at the end of 6 th and 12 th weeks after the experiment,the following items were measured: blood lipids platelet aggregation rate,platelet adhesion rate,malondialdehyde(MDA),endothelin-1(ET-1),nitric oxide(NO),the ratio of the lipid plaque area and the thickness of the endothelial plaque.Results: After feeding the food containing high cholesterol,the blood lipids,platelet aggregation rate,platelet adhesion rate,MDA,ET1,the ratio of lipid plaque area and the thickness of plaque were elevated significantly,while serum NO3-/NO2-decreased significantly in model group.Compared with the model group,the blood lipids were lower in the two treatment groups,and the blood lipid regulating effect in YQTYHT group was significantly better than that in HXHY group.Platelet aggregation rate and platelet adhesion rate of YQTYHT group and HXHY group were lower than those in the model group,but the degree of lowering in YQTYHT group and HXHY group had no significant differences.The serum MDA of YQTYHT group and HXHY group was lower than that in model group,and the lowering effect in YQTYHT group was better than that in HXHY group.YQTYHT group and HXHY group had a significant increase on the level of serum NO3-/NO2-and a decrease on the content of plasma ET-1,furthermore,the effects in the former group were significantly better than those of the latter group.The area of atherosclerotic plaque coverage in aorta and the thickness of plaque of HXHY group were larger than those in YQTYHT group(both P

Objective To improve the selection of flying cadets of the Air Force of People′s Liberation Army of China ( PLAAF) by analyzing the differences of medical identification of lumbar spondylolysis between PLAAF and the US Air Force ( USAF) .Methods Flight crew who had been checked for lumbar spondylolysis during hospitalization at the Air Force General Hospital between 2013 and 2015 were chosen.The results of their medical identification were compaired according to PLAAF and USAF Medical Standards Directory, and their differences and possible reasons were analyzed accordingly.Results The qualified rate of PLAAF was about 85%, which was very close to the standards of USAF, but the difference was not of any statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion The standards of our medical identification of lumbar spondylolysis was similar to those of USAF, suggesting that the selection of flying cadets can be improved.

Objective To investigate the prognostic value of preoperative neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST).Methods The clinical-pathological data from 85 GIST cases were collected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and retrospectively analyzed from June 2009 to December 2013.According to the exclusion criteria,79 cases were enrolled.Preoperative neutrophil and lymphocyte count was collected and NLR was calculated.According to the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of NLR,GIST patients were divided into low NLR group (NLR ＜ 2.30) and high NLR group (NLR ≥ 2.30).Clinic-pathological features and five year disease free survival (DFS) were compared between the two groups.Results There was a statistical significant difference in tumor size and tumor risk between high NLR group and low NLR group (respectively,x2 =9.517,12.411,all P ＜ 0.05).Univariate analysis showed that the five year disease free survival rate of low NLR and high NLR group were 78％ and 32％ (x2 =18.749,P =0.000).By multivariate analysis a high NLR was identified as an independent risk factor of poorer prognosis for patients with GISTs (RR:3.516,95％CI:1.453-8.506,P=0.005).Conclusion A high preoperative NLR is an independent risk factor for the prognosis of GISTs.

Objective To explore the shape change characteristics of Oncomelania hupensis snail shell after the snails being passively migrated into Shandong intake area of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Methods The snails raised on the Dushan island in Weishan Lake region were captured,and 115 the first filial generation snails and 107 the second filial generation ones were selected. The length and width of shells and apertures,and the labial ridge thickness of those snails were measured,the longitudinal rib number of snail spiral was counted,and 107 parental snails were chosen as controls. Results The labial ridge thickness of the filial generation snail was significantly reduced with the increase of algebras,and the labial ridge thickness among the 3 generations had a significant difference(P<0.01). Both the length of snail shell and the width of snail apertures were de-creased,while the width of snail shell,the length of snail apertures,the multiplication product of snail aperture’s length and width and the longitudinal rib number of snail spiral were all increased. Conclusion The body size of Oncomelania snails in Weishan Lake region becomes smaller,and their shells become thinner,which indicates that the environment of the lake region is not suitable for snail breeding,and the snails have natural decay tendency with the extension of time.

The effects of Cinnamon granules on pharmacokinetics of berberine in Rhizoma Coptidis granules in healthy male volunteers, and the compatibility mechanism of Jiao-Tai-Wan (JTW) composed of Rhizoma Coptidis granules and Cinnamon granules were investigated. The concentration of berberine in plasma of healthy male volunteers was determined directly by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) after an oral administration of Rhizoma Coptidis granules alone or combined with Cinnamon granules (JTW). The plasma concentration-time curves of berberine were plotted. The data were analyzed with Drug and Statistics (DAS) 2.0 pharmacokinetic program (Chinese Pharmacology Society) to obtain the main pharmacokinetic parameters. The results showed that the plasma concentration-time curve of berberine was described by a two-compartment model. The C(max), T(max), t(1/2) and CLz/F of berberine in Rhizoma Coptidis granules were 360.883 μg/L, 2.0 h, 3.882 h, 119.320 L·h(-1)·kg(-1) respectively, and those of berberine in JTW were 396.124 μg/L, 1.5 h, 4.727 h, 57.709 L·h(-1)·kg(-1) respectively. It was suggested that Rhizoma Coptidis granules combined with Cinnamon granules could increase the plasma concentration of berberine, promote berberine absorption and lengthen the detention time of berberine in healthy male volunteers.

Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of photoselective green laser vaporization of bladder tumor (PVBT). Methods A total of 522 patients with bladder tumor were enrolled in present study from January 2010 to May 2015, including 405 cases of non muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and 117 cases of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). All of patients were treated with PVBT and intravesical instillation of epirubicin. Patients with MIBC received intravenous chemotherapy (kisi-hama and cisplatin). Results The hospitalization time was (7.32±1.28) days, the operation time was (27.08±5.36) min, and the indwelling urinary catheter was (2.42±0.34) days for patients in NMIBC group. During the follow-up period (12-60 months), 38 cases (9.4％) relapsed, of which 3 cases underwent radical cystectomy, and other 35 cases underwent PVBT again. All 405 patients were alive at the end of follow-ups. The hospitalization time was(26.18 ± 1.92) days, the operation time was (38.32 ± 6.54) min, and the time of indwelling urinary catheter was (2.72 ± 0.85) days for patients of MIBC group. During the follow-up period (12-60 months), 19 cases (16.2％) relapsed. Among them, 4 patients underwent radical cystectomy, and other 15 cases underwent PVBT. Six patients died from distant organ metastasis (including 2 cases of pulmonary metastasis and 4 cases of bone metastasis), and other 111 patients survived. Conclusion PVBT is safe and effective in the clinical application, especially for NMIBC and MIBC patients who are unable or unwilling to undergo radical cystectomy.

Objective To improve and determine the Medical Standards Directory of the Air Force of People′s Libera-tion Army of China( PLAAF) by analyzing the differences in lumbar spondylolysis and scoliosis between PLAAF and the US Air Force( USAF) .Methods All candidates of flying cadets participating in the final radiographic selection between 2013 and 2015 were chosen.They were judged to be qualified or not according to PLAAF and USAF Medical Standards Directory. Results The average morbility of lumbar spondylolysis and scoliosis in PLAAF was 47%and 30.3%respectively.Arnong those who were eliminated in China,86.0%and 92.5%could be regarded as qualified according to the standard of USAF in 2015.The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion Our selection standards for lumbar spondylol-ysis and scoliosis should be improved based on this study.
