The nutritional and food hygienic character of the new developed soy protein concentrate and soy protein isolate in Heilongjiang province were studied by chemical analysis and rat experiment. These products have not yet been reported in China. The results indicated that the content of protein of soy protein concentrate and isolate was 69.76 and 83.11%(as anhydr-ate basic), the PER 2.00 and 1.34, the apparent digestibility 77.54 and 85.72%, the true digestibility 84.33 and 93.19%, the biological value 79.80 and 62.54%, the NPU 67.39 and 58.28% respectively. The essential amino acid composition of the two samples was the same as the products prepared in the other countries. By the hematological and pathological examination in rats, the contents of serveral harmful substan- ces were allowable or not detected. The authors belived that the nutritional quality of the two soy protein products was nearly the same as those in other countries, and its food safety was satisfactory.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
The apparent digestibilities of two preparations of corn as staples in men were estimated during March and April in 1979. Seven healthy adult men, who lived in this region for many years, were accustomed to eat corn as their staple diets. Each of the two preparations from the same batch of corn was used in the experiment. One preparation was "cooked corn meal" and the other was Jian-bing, the latter was considered the better way of cooking. Other ingredients of food in these two test diets were the same. During the test periods, the volunteers ate the test diets and drank boiled water ad lib, but the quantities were recorded. No other foodstuffs and drinks were allowed. The nutritive values of test diets were sufficient to meet the subjects' physiological needs. The 12 days period was divided into adaptative and testing periods of three days each for the two kinds of test diets. During the test periods, the total foodstuffs and the volunteers' faeces were analysed for the contents of water, anhydrates, total ni- trogen, crude fat, ash and fiber in the samples. From the data obtained, the apparent digestibilities of anhydrates, total nitrogen and crude fat ware calculated. Urine nitrogen was analysed and the nitrogen balance was calculated. The body weight at the beginning and the end of test periods were measured. The apparent digestibility (%) of anhydrates was 93.31?0.393 and 94.79 ? 0.578, total nitrogrn 84.60 ? 0.843 and 87.77 ? 1.080 and crude fat 86.32 ? 1.296 and 94.68 ? 0.838 in cooked corn meal diet and the corn flour Jian-bing diet respectively. The apparent digestibility in corn Jian-bing diet was higher statistically than that of cooked corn diet. Body weights fluctuated within the normal range. The nitrogen balances of all subjects were positive and the difference of nitrogen balance studies between the two test diets was not statistically significant. The results of the experiment suggest that, the differences of apparent digestibility between two diets was mainly due to the methods of preparation, Jian-bing being better than cooked corn diet in human nutrition.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
One hundred and ten college students, 66 males and 44 females, were studied for the evaluation of vitamin C status by use of the ratio of reduced vitamin C to creatinine in a random urine sample. During the experimental period, the dietary source of creatinine was strictly abstained. After voiding in the morning, the volunteers were weighed and their urine were collected at the end of 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, 12th and 24th hr respectively. The contents of reduced vitamin C and creatinine in each collected urine sample were analysed, and then the total amounts in 24 hrs were calculated. The experimental results showed:1. The distribution of the creatinine excretion in 24 hrs was nearly constant.2. The percentage of reduced vitamin C excretion per hour to the total 24 hrs excretion was similar in subjects of different vitamin C status and was lowest in 12 hrs of night urine. A curvilinear regression was given for the percentage of reduced vitamin C excretion in relation to the time.3. The ratio of reduced vitamin C (as mg) to creatinine (as gm) and the ratio of reduced vitamin C to creatinine (as mg) per body weight (as kg) were calculated from their contents in 12 hrs urine in those who exc- reted reduced vitamin C in urine less than 80 mg in 24 hrs. The relationship between these two ratios and the excretions of reduced vitamin C in 24 hrs urine was studied and four equations of curvilinear regressions were given.4. According to these equations, the correlated values of vitamin C/ crcatinine and vitamin C/creatinine/body weight in random urine samples in respect of four different grades of vitamin C excretion of 24 hrs urine were recommended. It was shown to be a new simplified method for evaluating the nutritional status of vitamin C in human body. The practical aspect of its application was discussed.

Objective To explore the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) on osteogenesis during co-culture of bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) with osteoblasts in rats. Methods BMSCs and osteoblasts were isolated from Sprague-Dawley rats and cultured.Sub-cultured osteoblasts and BMSCs were seeded in transwell cell-culture-chamber polyester inserts to establish the co-culture system. The co-cultures were then randomly divided into a normal co-culture group and a group exposed to an EMF.Single-cultured BMSCs and osteoblasts were set as a single culture group. The EMF group was exposed to an EMF for 4 hours per day.On the 14th day, cell culture plates or inserts were randomly selected for total RNA extraction and measurement of the mRNA expression levels of Runt-related transcription factor 2,transcription factor 7,alkaline phosphatase, collagen type Ⅰ,bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) and bone gamma-carboxyglutamate protein (Osteocalcin gene,OC gene) using real-time PCR assays.Cell culture dishes or inserts were also randomly chosen for Alizarin red staining to detect mineralized nodules. Results The level of osteogenic gene expression in single-cultured BMSCs and osteoblasts was low, while it was much higher in the co-culture group. The level of gene expression in the EMF-exposed and co-cultured group was even higher.Alizarin red staining also showed that calcium mineralized modules had increased in the stimulated,co-cultured system compared with the unstimulated,co-cultured cells. Conclusion EMF exposure can promote osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs and osteoblasts when they are co-cultured.BMP2-mediated cellular interaction might play an important role in osteogenic differentiation induced by EMF exposure.

Objective To study the expressions of aggrecan (Agc) Ⅰ and Ⅱ collagen and Sox9 by bone mar-row mesenchymal stem cells exposed to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and it's mechanisms involved. Methods Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were isolated from Sprague-Dawley rats and cultured in vitro. The third passage cells were harvested and exposed to 15 Hz 1 mT EMFs for 8 h/d. The semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polyme-rase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique was used to measure parathyroid hormon receptor related peptide (PTHrp) ,Agc Ⅰ and Ⅱ collagen and Sox9 mRNA. Western blotting was used to measure type Ⅱ collagen expression. After the inhibitor of protein kinase A (PKA) H-89 and the inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC) Go-6976 ( 12 μm) were added, the effects of EMFs on Agc Ⅰ and Ⅱ collagen and Sox9 mRNA expressions were measured again by using RT-PCR, and Western blotting technique. Results The EMFs induced significant increase of mRNA expressions of PTHrp, Agc Ⅰ and Ⅱ collagen and Sox9 in comparison to the controls, and promoted type Ⅱ collagen protein expres-sion. The Agc Ⅰ and Ⅱ collagen expressions decreased after PKA pathway inhibitor H-89 and PKC inhibitor Go-6976 were added, but the mRNA expression of Sox9 was not affected. Conclusion This study shows 15Hz 1mT EMFs can promote mRNA expressions of Agc Ⅰ and Ⅱ collagan and Sox9 of cbondrogenesis differentiation markers in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. The effect is correlated with PKA and PKC pathways.

The clinicopathological data of 125 pairs of donors and recipients who underwent DCD liver transplantation in Xijing Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from January 2015 to June 2021 were collected. Of the 125 donors, there were 93 males and 32 females. Of the 125 recipients, there were 92 males and 33 females, aged 48(41,55)years. According to the last time of serum sodium level of donor liver in the 125 recipients, 9 donor livers with serum sodium level ≥170 mmol/L were divided into group 1 (extremely high sodium), 33 donor livers with serum sodium level ≥150 mmol/L and <170 mmol/L were divided into group 2 (moderate high sodium), and 83 donor livers with serum sodium level <150 mmol/L were divided into group 3 (normal sodium), respectively. Observation indicators: (1) postoperative recover situations; (2) follow-up and survival analysis. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean± SD. Repeated measures were analyzed by repeated measures ANOVA. Measurement data with skewed distribution were represented as M( Q1, Q3), and comparison between groups was analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test. Count data were described as absolute numbers, and Pearson chi-square test or Fisher exact probability were used for data test. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw survival curves and Log-rank test was used for survival analysis. Results:(1) Postoperative recover situations. The changes of alanine transaminase (AlT), aspartate aminotransferases (AST), total bilirubin (TBil), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), prothrombin time (PT), international normalized ratio (INR), albumin (Alb) and creatinine (Cr) from the first day to the 14th day after operation were (736±972)IU/L to (75±46)IU/L, (1 290±1 651)IU/L to (38±20)IU/L, (102±98)μmol/L to (33±11)μmol/L, (66±34)IU/L to (104±54)IU/L, (19.9±3.3)seconds to (11.3±1.0)seconds, 1.76±0.31 to 1.00±0.08, (34±5)g/L to (38±3)g/L and (91±41)μmol/L to (76±19)μmol/L, respectively, in the recipients of group 1. Objective To investigate the application prospect of the most extensive genome engineering pig internationally in preclinical xenotransplantation. Methods Porcine endogenous retrovirus (PERV) knockout combined with 3 major heterologous antigen gene knockouts and 9 humanized genes for inhibition of complement activation, regulation of coagulation disorders, anti-inflammatory and anti-phagocytosis were transferred into a pig (PERV-KO/3-KO/9-TG) as a donor, and the heart, liver and kidney were obtained and transplanted to 3 Rhesus macaque recipients respectively to establish a preclinical research model of pig-to-Rhesus macaque xenotransplantation. The functional status of xenografts after blood flow reconstruction was observed and the survival of recipients was summarized. The hemodynamics of xenografts were monitored. The change of hematological indexes of each recipient was compared. The histopathological manifestation of xenografts was observed. Results After the blood flow was reconstructed, all xenografts showed ruddy color, soft texture and good perfusion. The transplant heart, liver and kidney showed full arterial and venous blood flow and good perfusion at 1 d after operation. The postoperative survival time of heart, liver, and kidney transplant recipients was 7, 26, and 1 d, respectively. The levels of creatine kinase, creatine kinase isoenzyme, and lactate dehydrogenase increased in heart transplant recipient at 1 d after operation, and gradually recovered to near normal levels at 6 d after operation. All indexes increased sharply at 7 d after operation. The level of aspartate aminotransferase increased in liver transplant recipients at 2 d after operation, and the alanine aminotransferase basically returned to normal at 10 d after operation, but the total bilirubin continued to increase. Both aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase increased at 12 d after operation, and reached a peak at 15 d after operation. The kidney transplant recipient developed mild proteinuria at 1 d after operation, and died of sudden severe arrhythmia. Histopathology showed that the tissue structure of cardiac and renal xenografts was close to normal, and liver xenografts presented with patchy necrosis, the liver tissue structure was disordered, accompanied by inflammatory damage, interstitial hemorrhage and thrombotic microangiopathy. Conclusions PERV-KO/3-KO/9-TG pig shows advantages in overcoming hyperacute rejection, mitigating humoral rejection and coagulation dysregulation. However, whether it can be used as potential donor for clinical xenotransplantation needs further evaluation.

Objectives:
This study explored the relationship between weight control and atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after catheter ablation in overweight and obese patients.
Methods:
We prospectively enrolled consecutive 333 overweight and obese patients aged 28 to 87 years old, who underwent catheter ablation for AF in Beijing Anzhen Hospital between October 2015 and February 2016. Data of patients′ characteristics, laboratory examination and treatment were collected at baseline. Each patient was followed up at 3, 6 and 12 months after ablation to collect information on weight, AF recurrence, stroke, major bleeding, hospitalization for cardiovascular reasons and death, etc. Patients were divided into weight controlled group (ΔBMI<-1 kg/m2) and weight uncontrolled group (ΔBMI≥-1 kg/m2), according to the changes in the most recent exposure BMI before AF recurrence in patients with recurrence or the BMI at 12 months′ follow-up in patients without recurrence and the BMI at baseline. Multivariate logistic regression was performed to adjust other known risk factors of AF recurrence and to explore the association between weight control and AF recurrence after catheter ablation.
Results:
There were 54 patients in weight controlled group and 279 patients in weight uncontrolled group. There were no significant differences in age, gender, education level, left atrial size and history of hypertension between the two groups (all

Multivariate logistic regression was performed to adjust other known risk factors of AF recurrence and to explore the association between weight control and AF recurrence after catheter ablation. Results There were 54 patients in weight controlled group and 279 patients in weight uncontrolled group. There were no significant differences in age, gender, education level, left atrial size and history of hypertension between the two groups (all P>0.05). The proportion of patients using angiotensin?converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers was higher in the weight controlled group (50.0%(27/54) vs. 34.8%(97/279), P=0.034). However, there was no significant difference in the proportion of patients with obesity (33.3% (18/54) vs. 29.7% (83/279)), paroxysmal AF (59.3% (32/54) vs. 56.6% (158/279)) and AF duration less than 5 years (76.9% (40/52) vs. 65.4% (178/272)) between the weight controlled group and the uncontrolled group. During 1?year follow?up after ablation, the recurrence rate of AF was significantly lower in the weight controlled group than that in the weight uncontrolled group (14.8% (8/54) vs. 32.6%(91/279), P=0.009). Multivariable logistic regression analysis shows that weight control is independently associated with a lower postoperative AF recurrence rate ( OR=0.40, 95%CI 0.18-0.90, P=0.026). Conclusion Weight control is strongly associated with a lower AF recurrence rate after catheter ablation in overweight and obese patients.
