AIM: To study the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in human bronchial epithelial cell treated with TNF-?, ConA and mechanical injury. METHODS: RT-PCR and gelatin zymography were performed to observe the dynamic expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in human bronchial epithelial cell line H292 at different timepoint(2 h, 6 h,12 h, 24 h) after stimulation with TNF-?, ConA and mechanical injury. RESULTS: Human bronchial epithelial cell H292 expressed and secreted matrix metalloproteinase-9 in the presence of TNF-?, ConA and mechanical injury. On stimulation with mechanical injury alone, MMP-9 was initially expressed at 2 h, peaked at 12 h, and decreased at 24 h. Furthermore, on stimulation with combination of ConA and mechanical injury, the MMP-9 mRNA expression was the highest among in all the groups. Zymography show that the MMP-9 activity appeared just at 24 h timepoint, and was highest at the group of combination of ConA and mechanical injury. CONCLUTION: Human bronchial epithelial cell expressed and secreted MMP-9 when treated with TNF-?, ConA and mechanical injury.

Objective To investigate the expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase 9 (MMP 9) in bronchial biopy mucosal tissue and its relation to airway eosinophilic infiltration,lung function and airway hyperresponsiveness.Method 10 subjects with asthma were enrolled,meanwhile,10 healthy subjects and 6 subjects with COPD were as controls.At the same time,immunohistochemistry was employed.Results Immunohistochemistry for MMP 9 was positive in all asthmaticus,and just as such in 2/6 subjects with COPD.On the contrary,immunohistochemistry for MMP 9 was negative in all healthy subjects.The amount of MMP 9 expression was positively correlated with the number of eosinophil infiltrated to airway (r=0 62,P

Objective To summarize the clinical features of mercury poisoning diagnosed by blood and urine tests for improving the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.Methods Poisoning causes,clinical manifestations,diagnosis,treatment and prognosis were retrospectively reviewed in 92 in-patients with mercury poisoning in our hospital from January 2000 to April 2010.Results Of the 92 patients,37 were male and 55 were female with an average age of 33.1(2-65)years old.The mercury poisoning was caused by occupational exposure and non-occupational exposure,such as iatrogenic exposure,life exposure and wrong intake or suicidal intake of mercury-containing substances,mainly through respiratory tract,digestive tract and skin absorption.The most common clinical symptoms were as the followings:nervous system symptom,such as memory loss in 50 eases(54.3%),fatigue in 34(37.0%),numb limb in 25 (27.2%),dizziness and headache in 22(23.9%),cacesthesia in 20(21.7%),fine tremor(finger tip,tongue tip,eyelids)in 15(16.3%),insomnia and more dreams in 12(13.0%);gastrointestinal symptoms:nausea in 16 (17.4%),abdominal pain in 14(15.2%),stomatitis in 5(5.4%);joint and muscle symptoms:muscle pain in 16(17.4%),joint pain in 5(5.4%);cardiovaseular system:chest tightness,hean palpitations in 6(6.5%);urinary system:edema in 9(9.8%);other system:hidrosis in 20(21.7%).After the treatment with sodium dimercaptopropane sulfonate (DMPS),the symptoms were gradually alleviated.Their gastrointestinal,cardiovascular symptoms were alleviated within 2 weeks;neurological symptoms were alleviated within 3 months;kidney damage showed a slower recovery and could be completely'alleviated within 6 months.Conclusions Because of its diverse clinical symptoms,the mercury poisoning was easy to misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis:therefore the awareness of the disease should be further enhanced.Leaving from the poisoning environment timely and giving appropriate treatment with DMPS will lead to a satisfactory prognosis.

Objective: To study the pharmacodynamic effect of Reganling Oral Liquid(RGL) in treating wind heat epidemic syndrome. Methods: After RGL was administered ig to experiment animals, we observed its antifebrile effect by using pathologic hectic rabbit caused by typhoid bacterin and pathologic hectic rat caused by injection of 2,4 dinitro phenol, anti inflammation effect by weighing the tampon acestoma in rat, anti anaphylaxis effect by using delay anaphylactoid mice caused by injection of 2,4 dinitrochloro benzene. The Liquid Tube Observing Method was used to investigate the bacteriostatic activity of RGL on eight kinds of germina in vitro . Results: RGL could evidently inhibit the raising of animal heat caused by bacterin and chemical, and also could markedly restrain the weight of tampon acestoma in rat and delay anaphylactoid in mice. RGL also had remarkably bacteriostatic activity on eight kinds of germina in vitro which mainly caused wind heat epidemic syndrome. Conclusion: RGL had the evident effects of antifebrile, anti inflammation, anti anaphylaxis and bacteriostatic activity in vitro .
