PurposeTo evaluate the advantages and limits of different diagnostic imaging modalities for adrenal neuroblastoma diagnosis in children. MethodsImaging manifestations of 26 pathologically proved cases of adrenal neuroblastoma were retrospectively reviewed. Results37.5% of the cases were revealed by IVP, 82% were found by US, while 90% of the cases were demonstrated by CT. ConclusionUS should be considered as the first choice for diagnosing the adrenal neuroblastoma, while CT seems superior to US.

Objective: To study the influences of electrolytic voltages on chromatics of anodized titanium. Methods:Titanium specimens were anodized in 0.5 mol/L sulfuric acid and 0.2 mol/L phosphate acid electrolyte using different voltages. The colors of anodized titanium were measured with a computer controlled spectrophotometer, and then evaluated in the CIE1976L*a*b* uniform color scale and Mussell notation. Result: One given volt created one distinguished color. The chromatic values expressed in L*a*b* were fluctuated in different voltage conditions. The hues in Mussell notation were distributed widely within R,Y,G,P of 5 basic colors and YR,GY,BG,PB of 5 interspace colors in the range of 5 to 80 volts. Anodizing with 10 or 45 volts, the specimen's colors appeared two kinds of brilliant goldish yellow, the former reddish slightly and latter greenish a little. The spectrums of the two colors were in the range of wavelengths of yellow to red. Conclusion: The color of the anodized titanium is dependent upon the volts applied. The goldish yellow may be used to improve the esthetics of titanium dentures.

Objective To investigate the CT manifestations of recto-endometriosis. Methods Three pathologically proved cases of recto-endometriosis were reported, the CT features and clinical manifestations were investigated retrospectively with review of literatures. Results The patients were all menstruating females (28, 34, and 45 years old, respectively), and anal pain emerged during menses in one case. Rectal examination revealed stiff immobile mass along the rectal wall in all three cases. All the cases showed solid masses on CT scan with moderate enhancement after contrast administration. Two of them confined to the rectal walls, another involved the rectum and peri-rectal aspect. One case was misdiagnosed as well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of rectum in frozen section by biopsy specimen. Conclusion A solid mass was always found in recto-endometriosis. No characteristic CT feature was manifested. Attention should be paid to the differentiation from rectal tumors when making the diagnosis.

ObjectiveTo explore the viability, security and the curative effect of ultrasonic guided percutaneous portal vein puncture on autologous stem cells transplantation for patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis.MethodsSixty-four patients of decompensated liver cirrhosis with ascites were treated by autologous stem cell transplantation through ultrasonic guided percutaneous portal vein puncture. The clinical symptoms after transplantation, postoperative adverse reaction, the results of liver function tests were observed. Results After stem cells transplantation, patients' liver function got better obviously, laboratory indicators were better, postoperative adverse reaction and complication were less than those of 87patients treated with autologous stem cell transplantation into hepatic artery multilevel branch by pipe(P<0.05).Conclusions Ultrasound guided percutaneous portal vein puncture on autologous stem cells transplantation is the viability, security, less side effect and effective for treatment patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis. It can be used as the clinical treatment methods for patients with middle-late liver cirrhosis.

Methods:
Total 106 diabetic patients who had undergone PKP and had received anti-osteoporosis treatment for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture were enrolled and allocated into the following two groups: group I (n=52, zoledronic acid) and group II (n=54, zoledronic acid plus teriparatide). The operating time, bone cement volume, and complications related to anti-osteoporosis treatment or PKP, if any, were recorded. The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were assessed at admission, at discharge, and at the final follow-up. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan of the hip for the measurement of the bone mineral density (BMD) was performed preoperatively and at the final follow-up for all the patients.
Results:
There was no significant difference in the age, body mass index, bone cement volume, or follow-up time of the groups. The mean follow-up duration was 22.5±1.6 months. All the patients had improved VAS and ODI, and group II had significantly better clinical outcomes than group I. All the patients had increased BMD at the latest follow-up, while group II exhibited significantly more improvement. The prevalence of NVF was lower in group II (11.5% vs. 7.4%, p=0.523). Male patients had a higher prevalence of NVF although the difference was not statistically significant.
Conclusions
Combination therapy with zoledronic acid and teriparatide could improve the clinical outcomes, and BMD and had the potential to reduce NVF in diabetic patients following PKP.
