Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1992;0(11):-
To study the relationship between the different pulse conditions and photoplethymograms, the photoplethysmogram of 432 subjects, including normal pulse condition and 10 commonly - seen abnormal pulse, was examined at Cun - kou area with a BC - 4 quantitative photoplethysmograph. Meanwhile hemodynamic parameters were analysed. As compared with the normal pulse, photoplethysmograms of different pathological pulse conditions at Cun - kou area showed their specifical parameters and the changes of hemodynamic parameters reflected features of cardiovascular pathophysiology formed by different pulse conditions. It suggests that photoplethysmograms at the Cun -kou area can supply objective basis for clinical diagnosis of different pulse conditions.

This study was aimed to find out the relationship between the serum total cholesterol ( TC ) and coronary heart disease ( CHD ) of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome . Meta -analysis was used on the comprehensive analysis of ten research literatures on TC content of CHD patients with phlegm-turbid syndrome, blood-stasis syndrome and normal control . The results showed that the content of TC was 0.99-2.426 times h igher standard deviation in the blood-stasis syndrome patients than in the normal control, Totalcombined = 0.71. And the 95% confidence intervals of Totalcombined was 0.16-1.25. And the content of TC was 1.019-3.761 times higher standard deviation in the phlegm-turbid syndrome than in the normal control, Totalcombined= 1 . 05 . And the 95% confidence intervals of Totalcombined was 0 . 43-1 . 68 . It was concluded that there were significant variations of TC content in CHD patients with blood-stasis and phlegm-turbid syndrome compared to normal control . Therefore , abnormal changes of TC content can be used as one of the objective CHD diagnostic criteria of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome .

Objective To investigate the therapeutic mechanism of the recipe of effective components from Yangxin Tongmai Formula (YTF) for myocardial ischemia by observing its effect on angiogenesis. Methods The breeding egges were divided into 6 groups: YT Ⅱ group treated with serum containing the recipe of effective components from YTF, YT Ⅰ group treated with serum containing YTF, SBW group treated with serum containing Shexiang Baoxin Pill, bFGF group treated with serum containing recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor, KX group treated with blank control serum, and blank control group, 25 eggs in each group. The survival rate of chicken embryo, growth shape and vessel count of CAM model in each group were observed after 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. Results After treatment for 96 hours, the survival rate in b-FGF group and YT II group was higher than that in the other groups. The vasculature growth was rapidly in the medication group after culturing for 72 hours, and more apparent after 96 hours, especially in the b-FGF group and YT-Ⅱ group. The vessel count in b-FGF group, YT-Ⅱ group, YT-Ⅰ group and SBW group was in-creased as compared with that in KX group and blank control group (P < 0. 05), and ranged in the order as follows: b-FGF group > YT-Ⅱ group > YT-Ⅰ group > SBW group > KX group > blank control group. Conclusion YT-Ⅱ has the sim-ilar effect on improving angiogenesis as YT-Ⅰ, SBW and b-FGF, and its effect is better than that of YT-Ⅰ and SBW.

BACKGROUND:During culture of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs),a certain serum is commonly added in the basic medium, such as calf serum and fetal bovine serum, but there are potential biological safety risks.OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of different serum microenvironments on in vitro culture of rat BMSCs.METHODS:BMSCs were harvested from adult rat bone marrow, and cultured in vitro by whole bone marrow adherence method. The cells were cultured under the following serum microenvironment. The primary cells of autoserum group were cultured with autoserum, changing the medium with fetal bovine serum after passage. The primary calls of homogeneity foreign serum group were cultured with homogeneity foreign serum, changing the medium with fetal bovine serum after passage. The primary cells of fetal bovine serum group were cultured with fetal bovine serum, and cultured with fetal bovine serum after passage. The primary cells of Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium(DMEM)group were cultured with serum-free DMEM,changing the medium with fetal bovine serum after passage. The morphologic changes in BMSCs were detected under an inverted phase contrast microscope.Attachment rate and growth curve were measured.Surface marker CD11b,CD45 and CD90 expression was analyzed by flow cytometry.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In autoserum and homogeneity foreign serum groups, the homogenicity and degrees of fusion of call morphology were improved in comparison with other two groups and the day of first passage was less than other groups. The attachment rate was greater in the autoserum, homogeneity foreign serum and fetal bovine serum groups than the DMEM group at 24,48,72 hours(P<0.01).Doubling rate was fastest in the growth curve of autoserum group, followed by homogeneity foreign serum group and fetal bovine serum group. However,no doubling phenomenon was found in the DMEM group.Flow cytometry results demonstrated that the rates of CD11b-positive and CD45-positive cells at passage 3 were above 98% under medium containing serum, and CD90-positive rate was less than 2%.We could obtain BMSCs of higher purity.However,CD11b-positive rate was 95.83%,CD90-positive rate was 2.07%,but CD45 positive rate was only 64.79% under serum-free microenvironment.BMSC purity was significantly lower under serum-free microenvironment than under serum microenvironment. Results indicated that the microenvironment of rat autoserum can improve the attachment rate, growth and purification of BMSCs.

ObjectiveTo investigate the influenza vaccination coverage among kindergarten and primary school children in Zhejiang Province in 2023 and analyze the influencing factors, and to provide the basis for improving the effect of influenza vaccination in children. MethodsA multi-stage random cluster sampling method was used to select 3 681 parents of children from 10 primary schools and kindergartens based on economic level and geographical distribution in Zhejiang Province, who participated in an online questionnaire survey, including basic information about the children and their parents, parents’ knowledge about influenza, and their willingness to vaccination. ResultsAmong the 3 681 parents surveyed, 33.82% (1 245/3 681) reported that their children received influenza vaccination in 2023. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that factors contributing to children’s influenza vaccination included both parents [adjusted OR (95%CI): 1.56 (1.32‒1.84)] and children [6.04 (5.04‒7.27)] having a history of influenza vaccination, parents’ conviction the influenza vaccine could protect children from severe diseases [1.43 (1.19‒1.74)], and the willingness of most parents would let their children get vaccinated [1.40 (1.13‒1.74)]. In contrast, vaccine hesitancy among parents [0.55 (0.43‒0.69)] and the belief that influenza is just a common cold [0.80 (0.65‒1.00)] were hindering factors. ConclusionThe influenza vaccination coverage among children is insufficient. Both the vaccination history of parents and children, as well as parents’ correct understanding of influenza and the effectiveness of influenza vaccine, significantly influence the influenza vaccination status in children. Efforts to address vaccine hesitancy and misconceptions about influenza are essential to improve vaccination rates.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy of Huanglian Jiedutang as an adjunctive treatment for acute cerebral infarction complicated with gastric motility disorder. MethodSixty patients with acute cerebral infarction complicated with gastric motility disorder with fire toxin syndrome were randomly divided into a western medicine control group (control group) and a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) combined treatment group (observation group), with 30 cases in each group. The control group received basic treatment for cerebral infarction and relevant western medical symptomatic treatment based on the patients' gastrointestinal symptoms. The observation group received Huanglian Jiedutang in addition to the treatment provided to the control group. The treatment course was 7 days. Neurological deficit scores and gastrointestinal dysfunction scores were assessed in both groups before treatment and on the 4th and 7th days of treatment. Gastrointestinal electrographic parameters, serum citrulline (CIT), and motilin (MTL) levels were measured in both groups before treatment and on the 7th day of treatment. Clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups. ResultCompared with the baseline in both groups, the neurological deficit scores and gastrointestinal dysfunction scores were significantly reduced on the 4th and 7th days of treatment (P<0.05). The reductions in these scores were more significant on the 7th day compared with those on the 4th day of treatment (P<0.05). On the 4th and 7th days of treatment, the observation group showed a significantly greater reduction in neurological deficit scores and gastrointestinal dysfunction scores compared with the control group (P<0.05). On the 7th day of treatment, compared with the baseline, both groups showed a significant increase in gastric antral and gastric body electric wave amplitudes as well as serum CIT and MTL levels (P<0.05), and there were no statistically significant differences in the frequency of gastric antral and gastric body electric waves. On the 7th day of treatment, compared with the control group, the observation group had a significant increase in gastric antral and gastric body electric wave amplitudes as well as serum CIT and MTL levels (P<0.05), and there were no statistically significant differences in the frequency of gastric antral and gastric body electric waves. After 7 days of treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was 90.00% (27/30), higher than 76.67% (23/30) in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant. ConclusionAdjunctive treatment with Huanglian Jiedutang can effectively improve the symptoms of neurological function impairment and gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients with acute cerebral infarction complicated with gastric motility disorder, increase gastric antral and gastric body electric wave amplitudes, improve gastric motility disorder, and increase serum CIT and MTL levels, thereby improving the imbalanced secretion function of the gastrointestinal tract.
