1.INQUIRY ON THE APPRAISABLE STANDARD OF THE FAT OF CHILDREN AND JUVENILE
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
Based on the state of the development of the body and the subcutaneous fat of 4314 students (includidg boys and girls) at four middle schools in Zibo City, the fat was appraised and analyzed by the body-block indexand the thickness of the subcutaneous fat. The stand-ard-proposal value was also put forward by using y+1.645 Sy.x as the dividing-line value of the groups of different ages and the fat of both sexes. The comparison with foreign standards concerned showed that tally rate of the musculus triceps brachii and the shoulder-blade region of the fat sufferers was 76.87% and 51.7%. The tally rate of the sum of the above two terms reached 100% among the male and the female groups, from 15 to 18 years old. According to the current appraisable standard, the rate of fat children and juvenile for male was 2.86%, while for female, 4.0%. It was obvious that the rate of occurrence for female is higher than that for male(P

Objective To assess the influence of different processing technique on the quality of Exocarpium citri grandis. Methods The RP-HPLC method was adopted to determine the naringin content in Exocarpium citri grandis. The chromatographic conditions were: Kromasil ODS column(250 mm?4.6 mm),mobile phase being methanol-water-acetic acid(35∶61∶4),flow rate 1.0 mL/min,detection wavelength at 283nm and column temperature at 25 ℃.Results There were obvious differences in the naringin content of Exocarpium citri grandis which was processed by different methods: the naringin content processed by electro static drying method was much higher than that by bake drying method, natural drying method and vacuum drying method. Conclusion The electro static drying method is the best way for drying Exocarpium citri grandis.

Objective:To investigate the distribution of polymorphism of estrogen receptor (ER) gene in postmenopausal Han women in Beijing as well as its relationship with bone mineral density (BMD).Methods:Xba Ⅰ,and Pvu Ⅱ polymorphisms of ER gene were studied by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms (PCR-RFLP) and BMD were determined by DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry). The relationship between BMD and polymorphism of ER gene was studied by variance analysis. Results:Pvu Ⅱ polymorphism of ER gene was not associated with BMD of spongy and compact bone of radius;while Xba Ⅰ polymorphism of ER gene was associated with BMD of spongy and compact bone of radius. The lowest BMD was found with XX genotype while the highest BMD was found with xx genotype. Conclusion:There is high correlation between of Xba Ⅰ polymorphism and BMD of spongy and compact bone of radius. Our study suggested some bases to explore the pathogenesis of osteoporosis and to prevent the development of osteoporosis.

Objective. The aim of the study was to determine whether bronchial asthma was associated with increased levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(Sicam-1) in serum, which might be valuble data for the effective therapy of these patients.Patients and methods. The concentrations of Sicam-1 were determined in sera of healthy donors and asthmatic patients using a sensitive enzyme immunoassay.Results.The mean(±SD) levels of serum Sicam-1 of 26 asthmatic patients (205±72.0 μg/L)was significantly higher than that of the 30 healthy volunteers (154±63.9 μg/L,P<0.01). There was no much difference between the serum levels in 12 patients suffering from atopic asthma and the levels in 14 patients with nonatopic asthma. The serum concentrations of Sicam-1 were higher during asthma attacks than that during remissions in the same patients (P<0.05).Conclusion.These results suggest that Sicam-1 may play a certain role in the pathophysiology of bronchial asthma, and might be signals for successful treatment.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of age factor on the potency of cisatracurium-induced neuromuscular block in the obese patients. Methods:American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status classification Ⅰ-Ⅲ obese patients, with a body mass index of 30-35 kg/m 2 and waist circumference (female ≥ 80 cm, male ≥ 90 cm), 40 elderly patients (age 65-75 yr) and 40 young and middle-aged patients (age 18-64 yr), scheduled for elective surgery with general anesthesia, were included in this study. Based on the random number table method, the patients were assigned into dosage groups of 40, 50, 60 and 70 μg/kg, served as OF1-4 groups and YF1-4 groups, with 10 patients in each group. The consumption of cisatracurium was calculated based on fat-free mass using a single-dose method. The neuromuscular block of cisatracurium was monitored by recording the response of the adductor pollicis muscle to TOF stimulation, the maximum suppression degree of T 1 and onset time were recorded using the Mindray BeneVision N17 monitor, and the dose-response relationship regression equation was developed to calculate the median effective dose. Results:There was no significant difference in the onset time among groups ( P>0.05). The median effective dose in elderly obese patients and young and middle-aged obese patients were 50.01 and 48.71 μg/kg, respectively, and there was no significant difference between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:There is no significant difference in the potency of cisatracurium-induced neuromuscular block between elderly obese patients and young and middle-aged obese patients, suggesting that age factor has no significant effect on it.
