To investigate the chemical constituents of hemostatic extract of Pyrola calliantha H. Andres, the extract was subjected to chromatographic separation and purification. Along with some known compounds, a new naphthaquinone derivative was isolated and identified as 2-(1, 4-dihydro-2, 6-dimethyl-1, 4-dioxo-3-naphthalenyl)-3, 4, 5-trihydroxylbenzoic acid by physicochemical and spectroscopic analysis.

Objective To evaluate the role of transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) in preoperative evaluation of the depth of invasion in rectal carcinoma. Methods Fifty-eight cases with rectal carcinoma confirmed by pathology underwent TRUS before surgery.Preoperative staging was performed using the T staging system on the basis of TRUS sonogram. The T staging results by TRUS were compared with those of postoperative pathologic staging. Results The preoperative overall accuracy rate of TRUS was 82.76% (48/58).The diagnostic accuracy rates in T1-T4 stage by TRUS were 94.83%(55/58),86.21%(50/58),86.21% (50/58) and 98.28% (57/58).Staging rectal carcinoma with TRUS showed better consistency with postoperative pathologic staging. Conclusions TRUS has a better accuracy in preoperative evaluation of the depth of invasion in rectal carcinoma.TRUS is an important factor in rational treatment.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects and safety of angiotensin-converting enzym e (ACE)-inhibitors in the treatment of the secondary erythromatosis following ren al transplantation. Methods Twenty-four patients with erythromatosis following renal transplantation recei ved the treatment with ACE-inhibitors. During the administration of ACE-inhibi tors, the hemoglobin, hematocrit and the side effects were observed. Results All the patients were recovered except one who ha d to be stopped the treatment of ACE-inhibitors because of the depressing of th e blood pressure. The time of producing the effects was 7-20 days. The side effe cts included lower blood pressure accompanied by dizzy in 3 cases, anemia in 2 cases and damage to renal function in 2 cases. Conclusions ACE-inhibitors were effective in the treatme nt of secondary erythromatosis following renal transplantation. It was important to monitor the hemogram and the renal function of the patients.

Objective To observe the effectiveness and safety of endovascular stent assisted angioplasty for symptomatic intracranial arteriostenosis. Methods 4 patients with symptomatic intracranial arteriostenosis were treated with endovascular angioplasty using balloon expandable stents. Therapeutic effects were evaluated by clinical manifestations, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and transcranial Dopple (TCD) before and after the operation. Follow up was made for 7~10 months. Results Technical success was achieved in all patients, with no complication of cerebral embolism and hemorrhage except one of transient seizure during operation. Angiographic results immediately after stenting suggested that the residual postoperation stenosis was 8%(0%~17%), with significant reduction from preoperation stenosis of 75%(70%~80.7%). No recurrent TIA and stroke occurred and no restenosis was found with serial TCD in all 4 patients during follow up of 7~10 months. Conclusions Endovascular stenting is a safe and effective therapeutic tool for symptomatic intracranial arteriostenosis.

Chinese Journal of Interventional Cardiology 1993;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the effects of traditional transmyocardial laser revascularization (T-TMLR) and non-transmural myocardial laser revascularization (N-TMLR) on myocardial ischemic and necrotic areas and angiogenesis. Methods In rabbit models, using Evans′ blue -TTC stain and HE stain technique for measuring ischemic and necrotic areas and observing angiogenesis. Results After T-TMLR and N-TMLR,compared with the control group, the ischemic areas significantly decreased and significant elevation of angiogenesis was observed. But no difference in necrotic areas was observed among the three groups. Conclusion N-TMLR can achieve the same effects with T-TMLR. Inducing angiogenesis via laser channels and decreasing ischemic area may be one of the predominant mechanisms of TMLR whereas laser channels themselves open or not has no relation to the effects of TMLR.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases 2009;2(5):288-292
Objective To investigate the genetic features related to drug-resistance of a strain of pan-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. Methods The susceptibilities to 15 antibacterial agents were detected in Acinetobacter baumannii by K-B paper diffusing method. A strain of pan-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii was selected. The drug-resistant genes of the selected strain were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) , including 15 extended-spectrum β-lactamase genes, 3 metal β-lactamase genes, 2 AmpC enzyme genes, 7 aminoglycoside modifying enzyme genes and the genetic markers of integron I and transposons. Results The strain was resistant to 14 antibacterial agents except cefoperazone sodium/ sulbactam. β-lactamases genes ( TEM, OXA-23 and ADC) , aminoglycosides modification enzyme genes [aac(3)- I , aac(6')- I b and ant(3")- I ] , integron I qacEAi-sull and transposon tnpU were positive in PCR amplification. A new subtype of AmpC (chromosome) desoxyribonucleic acid ( DNA) was detected. Conclusion Acinetobacter baumannii is of high resistance to most antibacterial agents, and the mechanisms of the resistance are complex.

Objective To study the anti-neoplastic effect of Xuezhikang (Regulate blood-fat) Capsule in vitro and its influence on the chemotherapeutic drug 5 Fluorouracil (5-Fu).Methods Using MTT method to measure the inhibition rate of Xuezhikang Capsule used simply,5-Fu used simply and Xuezhikang Capsule with 5-Fu together on HepG2,MCF-7 and HL-60 cells. Results The inhibitory action of Xuezhikang Capsule(2.56,0.64,0.16,0.04,0.01 mg/ml) on HepG2,MCF-7 and HL-60 cells was dose-dependent and the IC50 was 14.057,19.859 and 27.771mg/ml respectively. The inhibition ratio of five different doses of Xuezhikang Capsule(0.64,0.16,0.04,0.01,0.0025 mg/ml) with 5-Fu (0.24mg/ml) together all remarkably higher than that of 5-Fu used simply. Conclusion Xuezhikang Capsule has a significant anti-cancer effect in vitro and can enhance remarkably the anti-neoplastic effect of 5-Fu.

China Pharmacy 2005;0(14):-
OBJECTIVE:To discuss the effect of anti-tuberculosis therapy on plasma concentration of calcineurin phosphatase inhibitors in renal transplant recipients.METHODS:The change in plasma concentration of calcineurin phosphatase inhibitors in 2 renal transplant recipients who were complicated with tuberculosis infection before or after renal transplantation was analyzed. The patients were routinely treated with cyclosporine(CsA)or tacrolimus(FK506)+ mycophenolate mofetil(MMF)+ prednisolone(Pred).Monoclone fluorescence polarization immunoassay(FPIA)was employed to determine the concentration of CsA or FK506 in different time point before and after administration of antituberculosis drugs.RESULTS:Plasma concentration of CsA was down-regulated significantly by Rifampicin, and the daily dose of CsA has to be increased to more than 3 times the previous concentration before meeting the target concentration. The concentration of FK506 was slightly down-regulated by rifapentine.CONCLUSION:The concentration of CsA or FK506 and the adverse effect of antituberculotic drugs should be closely monitored for renal transplant recipients complicated with tuberculosis infection.
