To elucidate the mechanism of Pai Pei Tang in combination with mifepristone in termination of early pregnancy, samples of apoblema (5 each) were collected from the Pai Pei Tang group, mifepristone group, Pai Pei Tang and mifepristone group (N = 68) and routine artificial abortion group (N = 22). We found that atrophy of the decidua and chorion was the utmost in the Pai Pei Tang and mifepristone group under the electron microscope. The result suggested that Pai Pei Tang could induce degenerative and atrophic changes in the decidua and affect the chorion directly.

Resident standardization training system is established in the framework of modern western medicine. With less consideration to the specificity of TCM on the curriculum, teaching mode and other aspects, it is not suitable for the actual requirement of TCM hospital. TCM apprentice education has a long history, is an important form of the traditional education of Chinese medicine. Leading the TCM apprentice education mode into the standardized training of resident physicians, exploring the construction of the teaching model suited to help the masses of TCM college graduates training will play an increasingly important role in training work.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Microbial production of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) by photosynthetic bacteria compared to other bacteria and algae was reviewed. During anaerobic cultivation of the Rhodobacter spaeroides mutant strain, control of the redox potential was effective or producing large amounts of extracellular ALA. ALA has been practically applied in agriculture as herbicide, pesticide and growth-promoting factor for plants. New agriculture applications including salt tolerance and cold temperature tolerance of plants were also desired. Finally recent medical application for cancer treatment, tumor diagnosis and other clinical uses were discussed.

Objective To analyse effect of nalmefene hydrochloride adjuvant therapy on serum nitric oxide(NO), endothelin (ET) and cardiac troponin I ( cTnI) in patients with traumatic shock. Methods 48 patients who were diagnosed with traumatic shock were collected. All patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 24 cases in each group. On the basis of conventional anti shock treatment, the control group were treated with naloxone, the patients in experimental group received nalmefene hydrochloride treatment, after treatment, the serum levels of NO, endothelin and cardiac troponin I were detected in all patients. Results After treatment, compared with control group, the serum level of NO was lower in experimental group(P<0.05);the serum level of ET was lower in experimental group(P<0.05);the serum level of cTnI was lower in experimental group(P<0.05).Conclusions Nalmefene hydrochloride adjuvant therapy could significantly reduce the serum levels of NO, ET and cTnI in patients with traumatic shock, control the development of the disease, prevent myocardial injury.

Objective This study was carried out to investigate the relationship among the partial plasma hormones associated with the stress, main indices of liver function as well as psychical status in the patients with viral hepatitis(VH).Methods Five indices of liver function, plasma cortisol(CT) and angiotensin Ⅱ(ATⅡ) were detected, the psychical tests were simultaneously carried out by survey item life events units(LEU),symptoms checklist 90(Scl-90).Results Both CT and ATⅡ ascended in the acute period of various types VH and correlated with many indices of liver function(P

Objective To study the most appropriate approach of combination use of endoscopy and laparoscopy in the treatment of intra and extra-hepatic bile duct stones. Methods A total of 1 669 patients with intra-and extra-hepatic bile duct stones were treated from October 2000 to December 2005 in this hospital.According to patient's individual conditions, different surgical schemes were employed, including duodenoscopy only, combination of laparoscopy and duodenoscopy(or choledochoscopy),combination of duodenoscopy, laparoscopy, and choledochoscopy, and hand-assisted laparoscopic hepatectomy. The success rate and post-operative results were observed and analyzed. Results The combination use of endoscopy and laparoscopy was successfully carried out in 1 636 patients, the total success rate being 98.0%(1636/1669).There were no serious post-operative complications. Conclusions Combination use of endoscopy and laparoscopy can be employed for various conditions of patients with intra-and extra-hepatic bile duct stones. The technique integrates advantages of both digestive endoscopy and laparoscopy, broadens indications of minimally invasive treatment, and improves the success rate.

Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2004;0(01):-
Objective To study the distal intramural spread of rectal carcinoma, and provide evidence for modification of rectal carcinoma surgery. Methods Sixty patients with rectal carcinoma admitted to the first affiliated hospital of Chongqing university of medical science from November 2001 to October 2002 were included. The specimens were extended to its original size and shape by the fat clearing method. Mesenteric lymph nodes were dissected by using transillumination to examine metastases histologically, then a lymph nodes map was produced which including the site of the primary lesion, the vascular distribution, and the sites of dissected nodes. The specimen below the distal margin of the tumor was cut continuously with 0.5 cm interval then sectioned for histopathological examination. Results Tumor spread to the distal intramural was observed in 11 of 60 patients (18.3%) with the range within 1.5 cm, of which less than 0.5 cm in 5 case, 5 cm to 1.0 cm in 2 cases, 1.0 cm to 1.5 cm in 4 cases. The tumor invasion was correlated with gross type, histological type and infiltrative depth, but not with sex, age, location of the tumor, size of the tumor, lymph nodes metastases and Dukes stage. Conclusion The range of distal mural excision should exceed 1.5 cm to tumor margin in radical surgery for rectal carcinoma. This rule should be emphasized for patients with poor cell differentiation and deep infiltration.

Chinese Journal of Nephrology 1997;0(06):-
Objective To study the expression of transforming growth factor ?(TGF-?) and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) in renal interslitium of patients with lupus nephritis(LN) and itssignificance. Methods Expression of TGF-?1, CTGF, CD3, CD68, proliferative nuclear cell antigen(PCNA) and ?-smooth muscle actin (?-SMA) in renal interstitium of LN patients were detected byimmunohistochemical staining. The degrees of staining in LN patients were compared to those in patients withminimal change disease (MCD) . Results Expression of TGF-?1 and CTGF in renal interstitium elevatedsignificantly in LN patients as compared to those in MCD patients. There was a positive correlation betweenthe expression of TGF-?1 and CTGF ( r = 0. 5316, P = 0. 023). The expression of ?-SMA and the numbersof CD3, CD68 and PCNA positive cells in renal intersitium were significantly increased in LN patients as compared with MCD cases. The expression of a-SMA in renal interstitium was correlated with the degree of renal interstitial lesions or fibrosis( r = 0. 436, P = 0.032) . Conclusion The increased expression ofTGF-?1 and CTGF in LN patients may be involved in the damage of renal interstitium and the infiltration ofinflammatory cells.
