Objective:To evaluate arthroscopy-assisted tibial bone tunnel fixation combined with double-row anchors in the treatment of tibial eminence fracture. Methods:The 23 patients were retrospectively analyzed who had been treated at Department of Orthopedics, Beiing Shunyi District Hospital for tibial eminence fractures by arthroscopy-assisted tibial bone tunnel fixation combined with double-row anchors from October 2015 to December 2019. They were 15 males and 8 females, aged from 12 to 55 years (average, 35.5 years). All the injuries were unilateral (14 right and 9 left sides). According to the modified Meyers-McKeever classification, 2 cases belonged to type Ⅱ, 18 cases to type Ⅲ and 3 cases to type Ⅳ. Range of motion of the knee, Lysholm and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) scores were observed before surgery, 1 month and 12 months after surgery. The anterior tibial slope angle (ATSA) on CT was measured preoperatively and 1 month after surgery for evaluation of fracture reduction. Results:All the 23 patients were followed up for an average of 23 months (from 12 to 52 months). Postoperatively, limited knee movement was observed in 2 patients and non-anatomic reduction in one patient. At 1 month and 12 months after operation, the Lysholm scores (61.4 ± 3.5 and 90.4 ± 4.3) and IKDC scores (69.6 ± 4.2 and 88.5 ± 3.0) were significantly improved compared with the preoperative values (45.4 ± 6.8 and 49.6 ± 3.9, respectively) ( P<0.05). ATSA was significantly restored from preoperative 4.2° ± 5.7° to -11.7° ± 2.9° at 1 month after operation ( P<0.05). Conclusion:In the treatment of tibial eminence fracture, arthroscopy-assisted tibial bone tunnel fixation combined with double-row anchors can achieve anatomical reduction and firm fixation, leading to satisfactory surgical outcomes.

Objective To investigate the effect of hepatitis B virus (HBV) on the immune function of natural killer (NK) cells. Methods Healthy human peripheral blood-derived NK cells were cultured alone,or co-cultured with plasmacytoid dendritic cell (pDC) (NK∶ pDC=5∶1) for 48 h with or without HepG 2.2.15-derived HBV.Cell activation was assessed by flow cytometry. The specific enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and intracellular cytokine staining (ICS) were used to determine the cytokine production, the cytotoxic effect of NK cells on the carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester (CFSE)-labelled K562 target cells as well as the granzyme and perforin levels in NK cells.Paired results were analysed using Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results HBV did not affect interleukin (IL)-12/IL-18 and IL-18/interferon α (IFNα)-induced interferon γ (IFNγ) production by NK cells when NK cells were cultured alone (both P>0.05).However,HBV significantly inhibited pDC-induced IFNγ production by NK cells (146.1 pg/mL),while CpG enhanced pDC-induced IFNγ production by NK cells significantly (1135.4 pg/mL,P=0.0005).HBV did not affect pDC-induced NK cell activation and cytotoxicity to K562 target cells as well as intracellular granzyme and perforin levels.ConclusionHBV does not activate but inhibits pDC-induced NK cell function, which may contribute to the persistence of HBV infection.

BACKGROUND:Chinese medicine therapy is effective for patients with mild-to-moderate lumbar spinal stenosis and also has a better long-term effect than surgical patients, which can enhance perioperative efficacy and prevent spinal restenosis. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of “Tongmai songjin yigu” massage therapy on lumbar spinal stenosis. METHODS:Eighty-four patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis were randomly and equaly divided into treatment group and control group. Treatment group were treated with “Tongmai songjin yigu” massage therapy; patients in the control group were treated according to the guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of common disease in orthopedics and traumatology promulgated by China Association of Chinese Medicine, once a day, continuous for 2 weeks. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After treatment, the visual analog scale score in the treatment group was improved significantly (P < 0.05), and there was a significant difference in the Japanese Orthopaedic Association Scores on subjective symptom and daily life between the treatment and control groups (P < 0.05). The effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group (P< 0.05). These findings indicate that “Tongmai songjin yigu” massage therapy is better than traditional massage, but clinical large-sample studies are required.
