3.Development of glucometer based on ferrocene-mediated enzyme electrode
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1989;0(02):-
A portable glucometer is developed with ferrocene as an electron mediator, which is characterized by being easy to operate and portable with the small size of 94.3mm?49.2mm?17.8mm. With this meter, the detection result can be available in no more than 20 seconds with about 1.5?l of blood drawn. The meter has a measurement range from 50mg/dl to 500mg/dl and a precision of 1mg/dl. The measurements are compared with the ones from USI 2300 Stat Plus approved by FDA. The coefficient of variation is from 3.0% to 7.8%, and the availability of linear relationship (y=1.006x-1.37, r=0.990, n=1.18) and comparability are demonstrated. Error table analysis proves that all of measurements are in the acceptable A and B sections. The meter is a validated diagnostic system for in vitro blood glocuse.

Objective: To evaluate the project performance of public health service system in rural areas during the implementation of China Rural Health Project ( hereinafter referred to asHealth XI Project) . Methods: In this paper, all 40 counties covered by the Health XI Project are selected as case study. This paper uses the performance evaluation index system for rural public health system developed for the project and continuously collect input and out-put indexes between 2008 and 2013 in order to conduct a comprehensive analysis and evaluation. Results: During the implementation of the Health XI Project, the inputs and outputs of the rural public health service system had gradual-ly increased in all the countries covered by the project. The score for inputs and outputs increased from 22. 73 and 39. 05 in 2008 to 32. 62 and 57. 60 in 2013, with a growth rate of 43. 15% and 47. 50%, respectively. The input scores significantly grew faster than output scores in some provinces. The input-output ratio increased from 1. 72 to 1. 77, with slight fluctuations between different years. Conclusion: The application of the performance evaluation index system for public health service system in monitoring project implementation process can help to timely discover the weak links associated with the implementation of rural public health service system, and thus take effective measures to promote the improvement of the system. . When increasing investment in public health, how to efficiently use re-sources and improve the service effectiveness is still an urgent problem.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2012;34(4):332-334
Acute coronary syndrome(ACS) belongs to “thoracic obstruction” and “heartache” in traditional Chinese medicine.Although many ancient physicians has discussed this disease, while due to the impact of “Yang Wei Yin Xian” in Zhang Zhong-jing's theory, the disease caused little attention by far.In the clinical practice, the author found that most ACS patients belong to heat syndrome.Based on TCM constitution theory, the author put forward the ACS was mainly caused by heat accumulation and blood stasis due to the changes of living environment, lifestyle, and diet, etc.According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, emotional disorder, spicy and hot food can burn body fluid, leading to blood stasis.Long term of blood stasis turns to heat, which further consumes heart blood and aggravates blood stasis. Therefore heat accumulation and blood stasis should be paid attention in the treatment of ACS.

Recently, the new term lamellar hole-associated epiretinal proliferation was introduced to describe a specific epiretinal proliferation.Different from conventional epimacular retinal membrane, lamellar hole-associated epiretinal proliferation (LHEP) can be found around the edge of lamellar macular holes and part of full thickness macular holes. It is defined as a thick homogenous layer of yellowish material without any contractive properties on the epiretinal surface with medium reflectivity on optical coherence tomography images.Immunocytochemical analysis showed the presence of glial cells, fibroblasts, hyalocytes and collagen type Ⅱ.Electron microscopy revealed fibroblasts and hyalocytes as predominant cell types, densely packed in cell agglomerations.LHEP is a secondary event in lamellar macular hole formation and may represent a repair process after large and deep retinal defect.Further studies on its clinical features and clinical significance are still required.
