Traditional sequences of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) such as T1-weighed imaging, T2-weighed imaging, and fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) imaging can sensitively detect the subacute and chronic intracranial hemorrhage; gradient echo sequence can detect various stages of intracranial hemorrhage, but there is no correlation between the signal intensity of the hematoma and the time of the presence of hematoma. Diffusion-weighted imaging and apparent diffusion coefficient may provide more information about the center and surrounding areas of hematoma, as well as the hemorrhagic tendency after infarction.

Background The extraocular muscles (EOMs) Pulley in primate is related to the function of EOMs,but there are arguments about that. The location of rabbit's eyes is different from the primate.Study on the structure of the extraocular muscle connective tissue in rabbit may play a role to analyze the function of the EOMs Pulley. Objective The structure of the connective tissue around EOMs in rabbit was studied, the difference between this structure in rabbit and homan' s EOMs Pulley in past reports was analyzed, and then, the role of EOMs Pulley to ocular movement was investigated. Methods Five adult rabbits were involved. The gross anatomy of an orbit in each rabbit was observed. The other orbit was processed with paraffin imbedding and coronal serial sections.A murine monocolonal antibody to α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA) was used to show the smooth muscle, while Weigert stain was used to show muscle and collagen, and Masson trichrome stain to show the elastin. Results An encircling ring of collagen circled every EOM.The collagen ring was thin and connected to the orbital layer muscle fiber loosely.Collagen tissues coupled to adjacent EOMs.Less elastin fibers and scanty the smooth muscle cells were embedded in the collagen. Conclusions The connective tissue around rectus in rabbit is different from that in human with developed binocular ocular movements. It shows that connective tissue around EOMs may be related to the function of ocular movements.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2006;0(10):-
Hepatic artery stricture (HAS) after liver transplantation can lead directly to transplanted liver function exhaustion and complications of biliary system. The early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for better prognosis. Doppler ultrasound is the first method of choice, and angiography can give further clear dignosis. The balloon dilatation is still effective for hepatic arterial stenosis. With the more adaptable usage of oronary stent, if possible, would reveal more promising result especially for tortuous stenotic hepatic artery. The vascular reconstruction or repeated liver transplantation is still the effective therapeutic methods.

Objective To evaluate the prevalence and clinical significance of IgG,IgA and IgM isotypes of anti-peptidylarginine deiminase 4 (anti-PAD4) antibodies in early rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods IgG,IgA and IgM isotypes of anti-PAD4 antibodies were measured in the sera of 88 RA patients with disease duration less than 2 years,62 patients with other rheumatic diseases and 57 healthy subjects. The diagnostic performance of IgG,IgA and IgM isotypes of anti-PAD4 antibodies and their relationship with disease duration,DAS28,ESR,CRP,anti-CCP antibodies and rheumatoid factor (RF) were evaluated.Data analysis were performed using t test,U test and Spearman's association analysis. Results ① The sensitivities of IgG,IgA,and IgM isotypes for early RA were 28.41%,36.36% and 9.09% respectively. The specificities of IgG,IgA and IgM isotypes were 94.12%,93.28% and 95.80% respectively.② IgA isotype was positively correlated with age (r=0.234,P=0.028),DAS28 (r=0.309,P=0.007),ESR (r=0.382,P=0.000) and CRP (r=0.291,P=0.008),while negatively correlated with disease duration (r=-0.295,P=0.006).③ IgA isotype was positively correlated with IgG isotype (r=0.451,P<0.01).In the IgG negative patients, the positivity of IgA isotype was 29%(18/63),which indicated that the IgA isotype might be helpful in diagnosing RA in IgG isotype negative patients. Conclusion Anti-PAD4 antibodies can be detected in early RA,primarily with IgA and IgG isotypes.IgA isotype has negative correlation with disease duration, indicating that IgA isotype of anti-PAD4 antibody may play a role in the very early stage RA.

Objective To assess the effect of aortic valve replacement (AVR) on left ventricular (LV) twist function in severe aortic stenosis (AS) patients with preserved LV ejection fraction (LVEF) by speckle tracking imaging (STI).Methods Twenty-eight severe aortic stenosis (AS) patients (17 male, age 64.1 ± 10.4 years) with normal LVEF (≥50%) were examined by STI before and six months after AVR.The standard mitral valve and apical short-axis views were obtained to analyze LV basal and apical peak systolic rotation.LV peak systolic twist was calculated as the different between apical rotation and basal rotation.LV fractional shortening (LVFS) was calculated as the percentage fall of LV systolic dimension with respect to diastolic dimension. The data were compared with 28 age and sex-matched normal controls. Results In patients,LVEF remained unchanged after AVR.LV twist increased before (19.7° ± 5.7° vs 12.9° ± 3.2°,P <0.001) because of increased apical rotation (13.0° ± 5.8° vs 7.6° ± 2.6°,P <0.001),and normalized after AVR (14.4°± 5.2°,P <0.001).In controls,LV twist correlated with LVFS (r =0.81,P < 0.001),this relationship was reversed in patients before (r =0.52,P <0.01) and after AVR (r =0.34,P >0.05).Conclusions In patients with severe AS and normal LVEF,LV twist is exaggerated suggesting potential compensation for reduced long axis function. These disturbances normalize within six months of AVR but lose their relationship with basal LV function.
