BACKGROUND:Cervical Open-door laminoplasty with unilateral mass screw fixation and laminectomy with bilateral mass screw fixation are both procedures that treat cervical spondylotic myelopathy by expanding the space available for the spinal cord. Effectiveness and safety of two operative methods remain unclear. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the biocompatibility of implant and host between open-door laminoplasty with unilateral mass screw fixation and laminectomy with bilateral mass screw fixation to treat multi-segment cervical spondylotic myelopathy. METHODS: Data of 117 patients with multi-segment cervical spondylotic myelopathy (≥ 3 segments) were retrospectively analyzed. Sixty-five cases underwent open-door laminoplasty with unilateral mass screw fixation (laminoplasty group). Fifty-two cases underwent laminectomy with bilateral mass screw fixation (laminectomy group). Clinical outcomes were evaluated by the Japanese Orthopaedic Association scoring system and by recovery rate. Cervical curvature index and cervical range of motion were assessed by X-ray films in both groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The average folow-up time was 28 months (range 12-59 months) in both groups. No C5 nerve root palsy occurred in the two groups. Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores were greater during final folow-up than pre-fixation in both groups (P < 0.01). No significant difference in Japanese Orthopaedic Association score, recovery rate, and final folow-up cervical curvature index was detected in both groups (P > 0.05). Cervical range of motion was lower during final folow-up than pre-fixation in both groups (P < 0.01). Results confirmed that open-door laminoplasty with unilateral mass screw fixation and laminectomy with bilateral mass screw fixation have similar effectiveness in the improvement of neurological function, relieving pain and reducing complications, but wil greatly reduce the cervical range of motion.

Objective:To study influence of intravenous injection urapidil and nitroglycerin micro pump on blood pressure and heart rate (HR) of hypertension patients undergoing tooth extraction.Methods:116 hypertension patients underwent electrocardiographic monitoring tooth extraction in our hospital from January 2015 to October 2016 were enrolled in this study.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into observation group and control group with 58 cases,the control group was given nitroglycerin plus pump static point to maintain,the observation group was given intravenous urapidil and pump maintenance,compared the changes of systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and HR in two groups before operation,at anesthesia,10min after anesthesia,in operation,10 min after operation,and compared the adverse reactions condition of the two groups.Results:The levels of SBP and DBP in two groups in operation and 10 min after operation were significantly lower than that before operation,and the SBP and DBP levels in the observation group in operation were significantly lower than control group,the differences were statistically significant (all P＜0.05).The HR in control group in operation,10 min after operation were significantly higher than before operation,while the observation group were significantly lower control group,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 6.90％(4/58),which has no significant difference than 10.34％ (6/58) in control group (P＞0.05).Conclusion:Intravenous injection urapidil has little effect on blood pressure and HR in hypertension patients undergoing tooth extraction,and with good safety,which is worthy of promotion.

OBJECTIVE: To perform morphometric analysis of bilateral cochleae in all subjects based on computed 3-dimensional reconstruction tomographic data and assist the surgeon in diagnosing the inner ear abnormality or surgical strategies. METHOD: Two hundred normal developed cochleae from 100 patients were divided into 5 groups according to age. Morphometric analysis of bilateral cochleae was performed in all subjects by 3D reconstructions and 2D multiplanar reformation. The length and width of the cochlear base, the length within the cochlear base, the height of the cochlea, the angle between the first and second turn of the cochlea, and the cochlear orientation within the cranial base were measured and compared in different age, sex and bilateral groups. RESULT: The length of the cochlear base was (8.56 +/- 0.52)mm, the width was (6.63 +/- 0.56)mm, the length within the cochlear base was (7.33 +/- 10.56)mm, the height of the cochlea was (3.76 +/- 0.28)mm, and the angle between the first and second turn of the cochlea was (15.82 +/- 2.78)degrees. All index above did not change significantly in different aging, sex or side (P > 0. 05). Variability in the angle between the first and second turn of the cochlea was considerable, and a smaller angle (from the midsagittal line) was showed in the older age groups than the younger groups (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION 3D and 2D volume rendering enables us to evaluate the features of cochlear morphology and orientation that may assist the surgeon in diagnosing the inner ear abnormality or surgical strategies.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of the fixation of elderly fracture of proximal humerus with locking compression plate(LCP) by mini-incision approach from lateral shoulder.Methods31 elderly patients suffered from elderly fracture of proximal humerus were treated with locking compression plate(LCP) by mini-incision approach from lateral shoulder, male 13 cases, female 18 cases; aged from 56 to 72, average 62-8 years old; fractures according to Neer classification: type Ⅱ(8 cases), type Ⅲ (19 cases), type Ⅳ (4 cases). Cause of injuries: traffic accident (9 cases), falling (20 cases), other injuries(2 cases).ResultsThe patients were followed up 6 to 36 months, an average of about 24 months. Fracture healing time was 2-2 ～ 6-4 months, on average 3-7 months; No wound infection occurred. Post-operative functional score (Neer score) revealed: excellent(18 cases), good (11 cases), fair (2 cases), the ratio of excellent(18 cases), good (11 cases) was 93-5%. ConclusionFixation of elderly fracture of proximal humerus with locking compression plate(LCP) by minimally invasive approach from lateral shoulder is a safe, reliable and minimally invasive procedure with good reduction and stable fixation. Early post-operative functional exercise may be permitted for preventing shoulder joint adhesion.

Background Asthma is a complex disease involving genetic and environment interactions.Atopy is a strong risk factor for asthma.The airway epithelium not only forms a physical barrier but also provides immune defense against harmful materials.To explore the effects of airway epithelium on asthma,we hypothesized that environmental injuries could act on bronchial epithelial cells and damage the physical barrier,which might facilitate allergens to stimulate immunoreactions and play an important role in the pathogenesis of asthma.Methods Thirty eight-week-old male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups with six rats in each group:control group,asthma group,ovalbumin (OVA)+OVA group,lipopolysaccharide (LPS) group and LPS+OVA group.In the control group,0.9％ saline was injected intraperitoneally on day 1.Fourteen days later,the rats were exposed to aerosolized 0.9％ saline.In the asthma group,the rats were sensitized with an injection of 10 mg of OVA,followed by an aerosolized 2％ OVA challenge14 days later.The OVA+OVA group was sensitized by an inhalation 2％ OVA,20 minutes a day,from day 1 to day 7,and then OVA challenged in the same way as the asthma group.In the LPS group,LPS (200 μl,1 μg/μl) was given by airway on day 1 and day 3,with a simultaneous aerosol inhalation of 2％ OVA for 20 minutes a day from day 1 to day 7.Fourteen days later,the rats were challenged with saline as in the control group.While in the LPS+OVA group,LPS (200 μl,1 μg/μl) was given by airway on day 1 and day 3,with a simultaneous aerosol inhalation of 2％ OVA for 20 minutes a day from day 1 to day 7.Fourteen days later,the rats were challenged with OVA as in the asthma group.The expression of interleukin (IL)-4,interferon-gamma (IFN-y) and thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) in the lungs was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and the pulmonary pathological changes were also observed.The level of IL-4,IFN-γ and IgE in plasma was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was collected to conduct differential cell counts.Flow cytometry analysis was also used to count Th1 and Th2 cells.Results The pathological changes in the LPS+OVA group were similar to the asthma group,while in other groups,the pathological changes were not obvious.The ratio of lymphocytes in BALF,IL-4/IFN-γ in plasma and the expression of the TSLP and IL-4 in the asthma and LPS+OVA groups were higher than in the control group and the OVA+OVA group (P ＜0.05).The level of IgE was higher in the asthma,LPS and LPS+OVA groups than in the control group and the OVA+OVA group (P ＜0.05).By flow cytometry analysis,the Th1/Th2 ratio was lower in the LPS+OVA and asthma groups than in other groups (P ＜0.05).Conclusions The experiment results show that the injury to the bronchial epithelial layer may be the initial event of allergic responses.This finding implies that a rational approach to therapeutics would be to increase the resistance of the airways to environmental injuries rather than concentrating on suppressing inflammation.

Objective:To study the influence of different dietary patterns in hypertension, and to provide references for establishing a healthy dietary pattern, improving the abnormal blood pressure, preventing the early hypertension and controlling the high blood pressure.Methods:Random cluster sampling was adopted to analyze the dietary,examine the physical situations,and measure the blood pressures among 1 394 residents of Han nationality and Korean nationality aged from 40 to 80 years old from 8 villages in Jinlin Province from 2010 to 2011.Factor analysis was used to establish the dietary patterns and to analyze the effects of different dietary patterns on the prevalence of hypertension.Results:The prevalence of hypertension of middle aged and elderly people in the rural areas of Jilin Province was 35.3%.4 dietary patterns were obtained through factor analysis,including salted product dietary pattern,alcohol dietary pattern,condiments dietary pattern and high protein dietary pattern.By multivariate Logistic regression analysis and adjustment of the age,the gender,the nationality,the education and the career background, alcohol dietary pattern was positively correlated with the occurrence of the hypertension (OR=1.43,95%CI 1.07-1.90).Conclusion:Alcohol dietary pattern is closely related to the hypertension. Long-time large amount of alcohol is a risk cause for high blood pressure. Reducing alcohol consumption and developing healthy diet habits can help to prevent hypertension.

Being introduced in Korean peninsula, Chinese medicine, which is called Korean medicine in Korea, has caused great influence in Korean ethnomedicine, culture and living.Korean medicine takes an important part in Korean medical education and medical treatment. This paper introduces the origin of Korean medicine, the current mode and feature of Korean medicine education, as well as the overview and characteristic of Korean Hospital Affiliated Qing Xi University and Korean Hospital Affiliated Daejeon University. The mode of Korean medical education and hospital can offer reference for Chinese medicine education.

This study is to investigate the influence and the expression of CMTM family of testosterone on spermatogenesis suppression in the male rats treated by gossypol and cyclophosphamide. Gossypol (50 mg kg(-1)) and cyclophosphamide (20 mg kg(-1)) were administered to male rats to induce spermatogenesis suppression. Testosterone propionate was administrated at the dose of 5 mg kg(-1) every other day for 6 times. Sperm was collected from the left caudal epididymis, the count and motility of sperm were analyzed by CASA. Morphological change of testis tissue was observed with HE staining. The expression of CMTM family was examined by Western blotting assay. Gossypol (50 mg kg(-1)) and cyclophosphamide (20 mg kg(-1)) decreased the count and motility of sperm, and the pathological change of testis tissue was also observed. But, testosterone (5 mg kg(-1)) had positive effect. Furthermore, CMTM4 down-expressed remarkably in the gossypol and cyclophosphamide treated rats, the expression of the CMTM4 was up-expressed after testosterone administration. On the contrary, the expression of CMTM2 increased significantly only in gossypol treated male rats, but not in cyclophosphamide treated male rats. The expression of CMTM2 was down-expressed after testosterone administration. However, no obvious change of CMTM2 was observed in cyclophosphamide treated rats. Testosterone did not influence the expression of CKLF1, CMTM3 and CMTM5, the CMTM6, CMTM7 and CMTM8 of CMTM family were not detected in testis tissue. These demonstrated that the spermatogenesis effect of testosterone (5 mg kg(-1)) was associated with the expression of CMTM family, and CMTM2 and CMTM4 may take part in the spermatogenesis process.

Objective To study the effects of TRβ△ on apoptosis and proliferation of liver cancer cell line RH-35 from rat in vitro. Methods RH-35 cells were transfected by empty vector pcDNA3. 1 and expression plasmid pcDNA3. 1-TRβ△, then exposure to 10 nmol/ L T3 . RH-35 cells apoptosis and proliferation were observed by flow cytometry and MTT colorimetric assay; Levels of catenin β-1(CTNNB1), senescence marker protein-30(SMP-30) and BCL2-antagonist/ killer ( BAK ) mRNA evaluation were detected by quantitative real-time RT-PCR (RT-qPCR). Results In the presence of T3 , overexpression of TRβ△ significantly inhibited the proliferation, increased the percentage of apoptotic, down-regulated CTNNB1and SMP-30 expression, up-regulated BAK expression in RH-35 cells( P < 0. 05). Conclusion TRβ△ could inhibit the proliferation of RH-35 cells and promote their apoptosis, which may be related to upregulation of BAK genes expression and downregulation of CTNNB1 and SMP-30 gene expression, and these effects could be regulated by T3 .
