Objective To understand the level of clinical first aid ability of nurses in non-emergency department of third-class general hospitals of Taiyuan City, and to provide theoretical basis for effective intervention of nursing managers. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1008 nurses in 5 third-class general hospitals in Taiyuan city. Results The total score of clinical first aid ability of the non-emergency department nurses in 5 third-class general hospitals of Taiyuan was (121.29 ± 12.19) points.There were significant differences in scores of different age, education, nursing age, grade, title and departmental nurses (F=25.584-128.611, P<0.01). There was only a difference in the theoretical knowledge reserve in different department (F=3.589, P<0.05). The effect of the first aid ability on the emergency first aid ability of the non-emergency department nurses was the energy level, the education degree and the first aid ability of the nurses are increasing with the education level and the energy level. Conclusions In clinical work, nursing managers should pay attention to the development of first aid ability of low-grade and low-educated nurses in non-emergency department, and can carry out the training for first aid and comprehensive ability by situation simulation, emergency plan exercise, process management and so on.

Objective To determine quercetin content in Polygonum chinense L.from different growing areas.Methods RP-HPLC was used to determine quercetin content.Chromatographic conditions were as follows:chromatographic column of Agilent TC-C18 (4.6 mm?250 mm,5 ?m),mobile phase consisting of methanol-0.6 %phosphoric acid (52:48),with a velocity of 1 mL?min-1,column temperature at (25?1)℃,detection wavelength being 365 nm,elution time of 20min,and an injection volume of 20 ?L.Results Standard curve regression equation of quercetin is:Y=85 355X-48.16(r=0.999 3).A good linearity was showed in the range of 0.004～0.012 mg?mL-1,with average recovery being 100.3 %,and RSD of 1.44 %.The content of quercetin in the samples from different growing areas is in the range of 183.0～848.1 ?g?g-1.Conclusions The method is simple and reliable,and can be used to control the quality of Polygonum chinense L.The existence of some differences of quercetin content between medicinal materials from different growing areas indicates that we should make a quality standard to ensure the safety and effectiveness of Polygonum chinense L.in clinic.

Objective To report the HLA data of volunteer donors of Chinese bank from Northwest China and characterize the distribution of HLA genes in Northwest China. Methods HLA-A, B antigens of 2315 volunteer donors were examined by the method of microlymphocytetoxicity (MLT) test .The antigen frequencies(AF) were assessed by directly counting; and based on that gene frequencies(GF) were calculated. HLA data from other population were collected and distribution characteristics were compared. With the raw data, Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, statistical parameters of forensic medicine interest for HLA were computed. Results A total of 18 specific antigens were detected in HLA-A and the most frequent antigen was A2 . AF and GF were 0.5136 and 0.3026, respectively. A total of 42 specific antigens were detected in HLA-B and the most frequent antigen was A13. Its AF and GF were 0.1978 and 0.1044, respectively. The heterozygosity(H), polymorphism information content(PIC), discrimination power(DP) and probability of paternity exclusion (PPE) of HLA-A were 0.8215, 0.8212, 0.9356 and 0.7798 accordingly; while H,PIC, DP and PPE of HLA-B were 0.9322, 0.9322, 0.9878 and 0.9528. Conclusion The polymorphism of HLA-A,B genes is characteristic in Chinese. In this research, the genetic trait of HLA in 2315 volunteers is consistent with Northern Han population.

Objective To investigate the relationship between genetic single-nucleotide polymorphisms of ligase Ⅳ (LIG4) and heat shock protein B1 (HSPB1) and prognosis in nasopharyngeal carcinomas.Methods DNAs were extracted by phenol-chlorofrom method from peripheral blood samples of 168 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.Genetic single-nucleotide polymorphisms were divided by Taqman realtime polymerase chain reaction (PCR).All statistical analyses were performed with statistical product and service solutions v13.0.A p-value of less than 0.05 was confirmed as statistical significance.Single-factor and multiple-factor logistic analyses were used to calculate odds ratio (OR) and 95％ confidence interval (CI).Long-rank test and COX were also used.Results No relationship was found between the recurrence,metastasis and overall survival of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and genetic single-nucleotide polymorphisms of LIG4 and HSPB1 with single-factor and multiple-factor logistic analyses.Conclusions LIG4 rs1805388 and HSPB1 rs2868371 had no relationship with prognosis of nasopharyngeal carcinomas.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of blocking the JAK/STAT signal pathway on the activity of Caspase-3 in the synovial tissue of rheumatoid arthritis rats.MethodsFifty rat models of collageninduced arthritis,which had arthritis index more than 2 were divided into the model group,the low dosage of AG490 group,the medium dosage of AG490 group and high dosage of AG490 group.Inaddition,6 rats were treated as normal control group.Normal saline,AG490 1,5,10 mg·kg-1 ·d-1 were given by intraperitoneal injection.Then the volume claws and pathologic scores of the rat models were recorded and the activity of Caspase-3 in the synovial tissue were compared.The results were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and LSD-t or Tamhane's T2 test.ResultsThe arthritis of the CIA models progressed fast,the volume of the claws and the pathological score of them were significantly higher than those of the control group.At the same time,no Caspase-3 positive express could be detected in the control group,whilethe model group had slightly increased expression.After different dosages of AG490 were applied,the swollen of joints was significantly improved compared with the model group.The histopathological score of the medium AG490 dosage of group and high dosage group(2.7±0.8,1.8+0.9) were remarkably decreased than those of the model group(4.3+1.2),the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.01).In addition,the Caspase-3 expression in the low,medium and high AG490 dosage group ( 1.90±0.15,3.13±0.33,3.56+0.34) was significantly higher than that of the model group(1.48±0.18)(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01 ).ConclusionBlocking JAK/STAT signal pathway can increase the activity of Caspase-3,reduce the excessive proliferation of synovial tissue,and improve arthritis symptoms.

Objective To observe the expression of STEAP4 gene(a novel obesity-related gene) during the period of human preadipocyte differentiation and to explore the relationship between the STEAP4 gene expression and adipocytes differentiation,adipogenesis.Methods Human preadipocytes were cultured and differentiated into the matured adipocytes in vitro.Adipocytes morphology and lipid accumulation were observed during this process.Total RNA was extracted from adipocytes at various time points (preadipocyte,Day 0,Day 4,Day 6,Day 8,Day 11,Day 14,and Day 17) and the level of STEAP4 mRNA expression was measured by fluorescent real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase-polyme-rase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results The level of STEAP4 mRNA expression remained high in preadipocytes.In the presence of differentiation medium (Day 4),there was a transient upregulation in the expression of STEAP4 gene.After that,with the human preadipocytes being differentiated into matured adipocytes,the expression of STEAP4 mRNA was downregulated and reached the lowest level in fully differentiated adipocytes.There was a significant difference between any 2 detected phases in the level of STEAP4 mRNA expression (Pa

The effect of high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on potassium-chloride cotransporter-2 (KCC2) protein expression following spinal cord injury (SCI) and the action mechanism were investigated.SCI models were established in SD rats.Five groups were set up randomly:normal control group,SCI 7-day (7D) model group,SCI 14-day (14D) model group,SCI-7D rTMS group and SCI-14D rTMS group (n=5 each).The rats in SCI rTMS groups were treated with 10 Hz rTMS from 8th day and 15th day after SCI respectively,once every day,5 days every week,a total of 4 weeks.After the model establishment,motor recovery and spasticity alleviation were evaluated with BBB scale once a week till the end of treatment.Finally,different parts of tissues were dissected out for detection of variations of KCC2 protein using Western blotting and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique.The results showed that the BBS scores after treatment were significantly higher in SCI-7D rTMS group than in SCI-14D rTMS group (P＜0.05).As compared with normal control groups,The KCC2 protein in SCI model groups was down-regulated after SCI,and the decrease was much more significant in SCI-14D model group than in SCI-7D group (P＜0.05).As compared with SCI model groups,KCC2 protein in rTMS groups was up-regulated after the treatment (P＜0.05).The up-regulation of KCC2 protein content and expression was more obvious in SCI-7D rTMS group than in SCI-14D rTMS group (P＜0.05).It was concluded that 10 Hz rTMS can alleviate spasticity in rats with SCI,which might be attributed to the up-regulation of KCC2 protein.It was also suggested that the high-frequency rTMS treatment after SCI at early stage might achieve more satisfactory curative effectiveness.

Intraoperative awareness is a very serious complication of general anesthesia.Several studies have evaluated the potential association between bispectral index (BIS) and intraoperative awareness,however,the results obtained were controversial.Therefore,we performed a meta-analysis to further assess the association between the BIS monitoring and the incidence of intraoperative awareness.A comprehensive search was conducted to identify all eligible studies from the online literature databases published prior to Feb.2017.A total of five studies with 17 432 cases and 16 749 controls were included.An odds ratio (OR) and a 95％ confidence interval (CI) were calculated to examine the strength of the association.The results showed that in the overall analysis,the association between the BIS monitoring and the incidence of intraoperative awareness was not significant (OR=0.58,95％ CI=0.22-1.58,P=0.29).A stratified analysis by comparing different anesthesia methods revealed that BIS monitoring group showed a lower incidence of intraoperative awareness in patients with intravenous anesthesia when compared with non-BIS monitoring group (OR=0.20,95％ CI=0.08-0.49,P=0.0004),whereas there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of intraoperative awareness between BIS and non-BIS monitoring groups in patients with inhalation anesthesia (OR=1.13,95％ CI=0.56-2.26,P=0.73).In conclusion,our meta-analysis showed that BIS monitoring had no appreciable advantage in the reduction of the intraoperative awareness incidence in inhalation anesthesia,while showed a remarkable superiority in intravenous anesthesia.
