Objective To investigate the expression of thymidylate synthase (TS) in bladder urothelial carcinoma(BUC) and its clinical significance, and to evaluate its prognostic value, thus to help predict the prognosis and choose therapy protocal. Methods The expression of TS was assessed by immunohistochemistry in 54 BUC and 15 normal bladder specimens, and all these clinical data were retrospectively analyzed after surgery. Expression of TS,clinicopathologic findings and two prognostic variances (relapse-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS)) were determined. The prognostic value of TS was estimated by survival curve and Cox proportional hazards model. Results Immunohistochemistry showed that 25 of 54 BUC cases (46. 30%) had high TS expression. In these cases,there was 29. 41%o (5/17) for G1 ,46. 43% (13/28) for G2,77. 78% (7/9) for G3 ;21.43% (3/14) for Ta, 26. 32% (5/19) for T1, 86. 67% ( 13/15 ) for T2,66.67% (2/3) for T3,66.67% (2/3) for T4. Expression of TS was positively associated with the grade and stage of carcinorma ( Kruskal - Wallis H, P = 0. 0 3 and P ＜ 0. 0 0 1 ). The recurrence and case - fatality of patients with high TS expression was 60. 00% (15/25) and 44. 00% (11/25) ,respectively. The survival analysis and Cox regression analysis showed that expression of TS were independent predictor for recurrence ( RR = 2. 65,95% CI was 0.80～8.81,P＜0.05) anddeath (RR=1.42,95%CIwas0. 36～5.58,P＜0. 05). Conclusions The probability of BUC progress and recurrence increases with the increasing of TS expression. Detection of TS expressing level can contribute to select appropriate treatment and follow-up schema.

Objective To use the flow cytometry to detect the platelet vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein(VASP)phospho-rylation level and to evaluate the clopidogrel curative effect after PCI.Methods 17 cases in the control group without any drug in-tervention and 26 cases of acute coronary syndrome(ACS)after PCI operation with clopidogrel were selected.Platelet VASP phos-phorylation levels at being selecting and on 7 d after anti-platelet therapy were detected by the flow cytometry and the platelet reac-tivity index (PRI)was calculated.Results The PRI after anti-platelet therapy in the ACS group was decreased significantly,the difference between before treatment and after treatment had statistical significance (P <0.05 ).Conclusion The platelet VASP phosphorylation level detected by the flow cytometry can specifically evaluate the effect of clopidogrel.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of transendoscopic Doppler ultrasonogra-phy in various gastrointestinal diseases. Methods Transendoscopic Doppler ultrasonography was performed in 59 patients with various gastrointestinal diseases. Results The Doppler signals were detected beneath the peptic ulcer base in 29 of 39 patients (74. 4% ) . ICH GCP requires that all information of clinical trial should be recorded, processed, and stored in a way that allows the accurate reporting, interpretation and verification. A trial master file (TMF) contains all paper or electronic records/documentations related to a clinical trial. As a tool of the retrospective analysis, the TMF profile should be able to reproduce the full procedure of the trial completely. As a part of TMF profiles, both the accuracy and completeness of clinical data management documentation are important in data integrity. It is helpful to learn the workflow of clinical data management in different stage of a clinical trial, to understand which documents are essential, and why the documentation of clinical data management is important for data integrity. This paper elaborates how to perform the good documentation practice of clinical data management, and suggests that both the precise and efficient document management and regular quality control may ensure the high quality of clinical data documentation management on the basis of an intensive awareness of the overall process of clinical data management.

Objective To provide the exact anatomic basis for guidance of inserting catheter promptly.Methods Thirty five cases of adult crania were fixed by 10% liquor formaldehyde. In turn with precise discection of surrounding tissues and exposing carotid C 5～C 1 segments, paid attention to observe and measure vessel's trend, angulations, and direction of routes. Analysis of 50 cases of negative result of normal brain DSA is then taken as the basis for further application. Results Angulations of siphon were divided into 3 kinds of angulation and 1 characteristic curve but, the difference with the counter part is insignificant. Conclusions Mastering the applied anatomy of carotid could improve catheter maneuver and the rate of success.

Objective The empirical validity of the National Medical Licensing Examination (NMLE) has rarely been studied. This is one of the first studies comparing NMLE and annual assess-ment scores. This study provided the criterion-related validity evidence for the NMLE. The NMLE can be used to test the abilities and skills of physicians. Method We evaluated the test 163 residents in 12 medical school-affiliated hospitals who had finished their first year of tralning and had taken the NMLE and an annual skills assessment. We used Pearson correlations to estimate the relationship be-tween NMLE scores and annual assessment scores. Results A total of 163 residents met inclusion requirements. Correlations between NMLE scores and annual assessment scores ranged from 0.300 to 0.843. Conclusions The criterion-related validity of NMLE was high, so it can be use to evaluate the residents clinical competence indeed.

Objective To investigate the value of virtual colonoscopy in the diagnosis of malignant and benign lesions in the colon. Methods CT colography was performed in 37 patients. Patients included 20 cases colon polyps, 6 cases colon cancer, 4 cases diverticulum, 5 cases ulcerative colitis and 2 cases other benign lesions. The colon lesions were evaluated with 2D and 3D images, depending on individual software. Results were compared with colonoscopy for each case. Results 17 cases colon polyps, 6 cases colon cancer, 4 cases diverticulum, 2 cases ulcerative colitis were detected by CTC. Conclusion CT virtual colography is a promising technique for the detection of colorectal lesions. This procedure is minimal invasive and fast, causes mild patient discomfort.

Objective: To observe the effect of Yufeng Capsule (Radix Astragali, Radix Salviae Mitiorrhizae, Rhizoma Gastrodiae, etc) on the moisture content, activity of Na +,K + AT Pase and Ca 2+ ATPase in brain tissue of rat with ischemia reperfusion.Methods:the model with ischemia reperfusion was established by line embolism method, the moisture content and activity of ATPase in brain tissue of model rat were determined respectively at ischemia 2h reperfusion 1h and ischemia 2h reperfusion 24h.Results:Yufeng Capsule could significantly decrease moisture content of rats brain, increase the activity of Na +,K + ATPase and Ca 2+ ATPase.Conclusion:Yufeng Capsule could prevent and treat the cerebral edema caused by ischemia reperfusion, its mechanism may be related to improving cytomembrane ionic transport after ischemia reperfusion.

Although there is great technological disparity between the best foreign lithotripters and domestic ones, the clinical efficacy of the latter is quite good. In this article, the characteristics, developing status and clinical applications of domestic lithotripters are introduced.
