Objective To find out the consumption situation of iodized salt in Baotou, identify problems and take appropriate intervention measures, and to provide scientific basis for further consolidating the results of control measures, strengthening and improving the sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency disorders. Methods Three batches of each quarter, 54 salt samples were sampled in Donghe wholesale division and Qingkun wholesale division in Baotou city salt company during 2008 - 2010; each place of Damaoqi, Baiyun district, and Qingshan district were divided into five sampling areas according to the direction of east, west, south, north, and central position, one school was selected in each district, 30 students aged 8 to 10 from each school were selected, and home salt samples were taken, and salt iodine was tested by direct titration(GB/T 13025.7-1999). Results Qualified rate of wholesale iodized salt was 100%(378/378) during 2008 - 2010, and mean salt iodine was 30.4 mg/kg;qualified rate of household iodized salt was 99.8%(2417/2421 ), and mean salt iodine was 30.4 mg/kg; iodized salt coverage rate was 99.6% (2421/2430) and consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 99.4% (2417/2430).Conclusions Qualified rate of iodized salt, coverage rate of qualified iodized salt and consumption rate of qualified iodized salt are 90% or more, which has reached the standard of sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency disorders.

Methods:Total 31 root canal in vivo were measured with HM, X-RM and EM(by the electronic apical locators-Root ZX and Raypex-5 respectively), and the data were compared with the actual root canal working lengths which were obtained from the sectional view's constrictions of the extracted teeth by magnifying glass. Objective To explore the expressive level and clinical significance of tumor necrosis factor ligands related molecule 1A (TL1A) in peripheral blood of patients with viral myocarditis.Methods In 70 patients with viral myocarditis (viral myocarditis group) and 70 normal controls (control group),the plasma level of TL1A was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and the mRNA level of TL1A was detected by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.Results The plasma level of TL1A in viral myocarditis group was significantly higher than that in control group [(1.37 ± 0.41) μg/L vs.(0.85 ± 0.22) μg/L](P=0.000).The level of peripheral blood TL1A mRNA in viral myocarditis group was significantly higher than that in control group (0.39 ±0.17 vs.0.31 ±0.11,P =0.001).Conclusion The level of TL1A in patients with viral myocarditis is increased,and TL1A may participate in the occurrence of viral myocarditis.

BACKGROUND: Malnutrition and overnutrition are the two problems during growth and development of high-school students.OBJECTIVE: To understand the situation and relevant factors of malnutrition and overnutrition of high-school students.DESIGN: Transverse investigation was designed.SETTING: Health Supervision Institute of Chongqing Health Bureau; Department of Nutrition & Food Hygiene, Chongqing University of Medical Sciences; the Eighth Middle School of ChongqingPARTICIPANTS: Totally 896 students in 15 classes were collected from one full-time middle school in Shapingba district in Chongqing by cluster sampling method from March to May 2004. The students were excluded if they suffered from hereditary metabolic disease and secondary pathological malnutrition or obesity due to trauma or other diseases. All of participants were in the known in the investigation. Of those, 826 students filled up the questionnaire in detail (the effective rate was 92.19%), in which, 414 students were male and 412 students female, aged varied from 13 to 18 years.METHODS: The students chose were in the investigation with questionnaire and the contents of it included basic physical situation, state of sickness, situation of parents, dietary behavior, nutritional knowledge, dietary habits, etc. The students filled up the questionnaire by them own and handed over on the spot. The evaluation of student nutrition state adopted the heights and body masses in recent physical examination scale, in reference to the criteria in "height and body mass of Chinese students aged from 7 to 22 years". The standard body mass was 80% of body masses of people with same height, based on which, the standard body mass was 100%, that less than the standard by 90% was taken as malnutrition and more than it by 120% was taken as obesity. Non-conditional logistic stepwise regression was used to analyze the data so as to probe into the factors of malnutrition and obesity in middle-school students.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: [1] Morbidity of malnutrition and obesity in middle-school students. [1] Morbidity of malnutrition and obesity: it was 9.44% and 24.21% respectively, in which,the morbidity of malnutrition.for female was higher than male [4.84%,14.08% (x2=15.1036, P ＜ 0.05)] and the morbidity of obesity in male was higher than female [30.09%, 18.2% (x2=10.5737, P ＜ 0.05)]. [2] Factors of malnutrition and obesity: significant correlation was present between malnutrition and 5 factors, named sex, indulgence in or being choosy food,sleeping time, breakfast and animal internal organs (P ＜ 0.05-0.01). Significant correlation was present between obesity and 5 factors, named sex,body mass index of father, eating velocity, midnight snack and indulgence in or being choosy food (P ＜ 0.05-0.01).CONCLUSION: It is discovered in the investigation that the morbidity of malnutrition and obesity in middle-school students are very high and that is all closely related to sex and indulgence in or being choosy food. In order to correct malnutrition and obesity in middle-school students, it is necessary to provide correct nutritional knowledge and help them arranging diet rationally and establishing healthy life pattern.

Objective To explore the relationship between the status of the cervical lymphatic metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC)at cNo stage and tumor recurrence and the patient' s prognosis.Methods The clinical data of 498 cNo PTC patients admitted from 1986 to 1990 were retrospectively analyzed.Results All the patients were followed up for more than 10 years.16 patients died of PTC,among them 3 for metastasis,13 for local recurrence.The total cervical lymphatic metastasis rate in these 498 patients was 52.2％,in 260 cases in which detailed data were available: rate was 14.1％ in zone Ⅱ,27.1％ in zone Ⅲ,24.6％ in zone Ⅳ,12.5％ in zone Ⅴ,and 20.1％ in zone Ⅵ respectively.According to the appearances of microscopic pathology,the cervical lymphatic metastasis rates in 498 cases of cNo PTC were collected as following: uncapsuled group was 65.6％,extracapsular group was 64.5％,extralobal group was 56.5％,involved the surrounding tissue and structure group was 52.0％,focal cancerous focus group was 33.3％,latent sclerosis group was 26.9％,encapsuled and introcapsule group was 0.The cervical recurrence rate was only 2％ in the complete function neck dissection group and 9.9％ in the selective center neck dissection group.Conclusions In cNo PTC the most common cause of death was local recurrence.Prophylactic function complete neck dissection should be performed for cNo PTC cases of highly invasive type such as without tumor capsule,extracapsular,extralobal or surrounding tissue invasion.

Objective To investigate the effects of Dishevelled (DVL) on apoptosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) cell line OCI-Ly10, and to explore its possible mechanism. Methods Lentivirus plasmid overexpressing DVL2 was constructed, and after virus was packaged, it was transfected into OCI-Ly10 cells. Flow cytometry was used to detect the apoptosis rate of OCI-Ly10 cells with or without the stimulation by TNF-α recombinant protein. Then the gene expression of anti-apoptotic genes, GADD45β and A20, in NF-κB pathway was detected by RT-PCR. Results The virus was sucessfully transfected into OCL-Ly10 cells which overexpressed DVL2. The apoptosis rate of OCL-Ly10 cells overexpressing DVL2 without the stimulation by TNF-α was increased compared with that of the negative control group [(15.46 ±2.37) % vs. (11.72±3.53)%, P=0.03], the A20 mRNA expression level was decreased compared with that of the negative control group [(0.66 ±0.01) vs. 1, P=0.04], and the relative expression level of GADD45β mRNA was not significantly decreased compared with that of the negative control group [(0.79 ±0.15) vs. 1, P=0.642]. The apoptosis rate of DVL2 overexpression OCI-Ly10 cells stimulated by TNF-α was significantly higher than that of the negative control group treated by TNF-α [(22.78±4.56)%vs. (12.79±2.89)%, P=0.007]. The gene expression of A20 and GADD45β in DVL2 overexpression cells stimulated by TNF-α was significantly increased, however, the magnitude of increase in DVL2 overexpression cells was less than that in the negative control group treated by TNF-α [A20: (3.75 ±0.14) times vs. (6.89 ±0.10) times, P=0.008; GADD45β:(4.750±0.21) times vs. (6.14±0.08) times, P=0.03]. Conclusion DVL can promote the apoptosis of OCI-Ly10 cells, and its mechanism may be related with anti-apoptotic genes that inhibits its downstream via NF-κB pathway.

Polymer hydrogels composed of highly hydrated crosslinked network mimic the composites of the cartilage extracelular matrix and are embedded with articular chondrocytes not only to support chondrocytes growth but also to promote chondrocytes proliferation and division which wil induce the cartilage regeneration and repair. OBJECTIVE:To review several kinds of natural polymer hydrogels and their newest progress and achievements. METHODS:Relative literatures from January 1994 to July 2013 were classified and analyzed by searching the databases through PubMed, Springer, Sciencedirect and Ovid databases using the keywords of “natural polymers, biodegradable polymers, hydrogel scaffold, articular cartilage, regeneration”.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Natural proteins (colagen, gelatin) and polysaccharides (chitosan, hyaluronic acid) are widely used as natural polymer hydrogels. The natural polymer hydrogels have not only the physical characters beneficial to articular cartilage regeneration, but also the important biological parameters, such as biocompatibility, low immunological response, low cytotoxicity and degradation. Meanwhile, the polymer hydrogels with natural origin can promote celladhesion, proliferation and division, and enhance the regeneration of new tissue. Moreover, they also can serve as carriers to sustain the release of drugs and growth factors. Al in al, natural polymer hydrogels have a potential application in articular cartilage regeneration and repair.

Objective Investigations regarding the status of pediatric emergency and relevant facilities distribution in our province represent a crucial prerequisite for further setting up emergency network and improving our first aid capabilities.Methods We had conducted relevant surveys on the medical institutions within our province,including lever 2 and lever 3 hospitals as well as maternal and child care service centers.Results The feedback from 151 institutions indicated that they had 4485 pediatric beds and treated 5 308 severe patients in 2010.Among all,38 hospitals had ventilators for children and 4 hospitals could perform pediatric blood purification treatment.However,no one had mastered the children ECMO technique.Conclusion There is an inadequacy of some emergency equipments and the development in emergency and first aid is uneven.There is a strong request to launch and develop the blood purification and bronchfiberscope techniques,in combination with improvements in the first aid capabilities and emergency network.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of low-dose prednisone combined with methotrexate (MTX) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods In this 12-week study,150 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis were randomly divided into two groups:prednisone group (70 cases who were received prednisone 5 ～ 10 mg/d + MTX 10 mg/w +HCQ 0.2 g/d) and control group (80 cases who were treated by Meloxicam 7.5 mg/d + MTX 10 mg/w +Leflunomide (LEF) 20 mg/d).The primary end-points were tender and swollen joint counts,visual analogue scales (VAS),and global physician and patients assessments of disease.The secondary end-points were morning stiffness time,C-reactive protein,erythrocyte sedimentation rate,the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ),DAS28 and ACR20,ACR50.Results After 12 weeks,in terms of primary endpoints,tender and swollen joint counts,VAS and global physician assessments in the prednisone group were improved significantly [(4.5 ± 2.5),(3.2 ± 3.36),(21 ± 15),(24.2 ± 16.4),(20.2 ± 10.4) vs (6.4 ±5.84),(6.6±5.5),(46±14),(37.9±19.7),(34.1±12.4),P ＜0.05orP ＜0.01].In terms of secondary end-points,the prednisone group produced higher response rates [HAQ score (0.93 ± 0.52),CRP(10.2 ± 5.8) mg/L,ESR(30 ± 14) mm/h,morning stiffness time (32.0 ± 32.3) min,DAS 28 score (3.1±0.9) vs (1.22 ±0.81),(16.3±10.1)mg/L,(33±29)mm/h,(54.7±45.4)min,(4.9±1.9),P ＜0.05 orP ＜0.01].The incidence of adverse events was similar between two groups (43％ vs 49％,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions Low-dose prednisone combined with MTX and HCQ produced rapid and relevant improvements in RA signs and symptoms.

Objective To study and compare the clinical efficacy between intravitreal conbercept injection and (or) macular grid pattern photocoagulation in treating macular edema secondary to non-ischemic branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO).Methods Ninety eyes of 90 patients diagnosed as macular edema secondary to non-ischemic BRVO were enrolled in this study.Forty-eight patients (48 eyes) were male and 42 patients (42 eyes) were female.The average age was (51.25 ± 12.24) years and the course was 5-17 days.All patients were given best corrected visual acuity (BCVA),intraocular pressure,slit lamp with preset lens,fluorescence fundus angiography (FFA) and optic coherent tomography (OCT) examination.The patients were divided into conbercept and laser group (group Ⅰ),laser group (group Ⅱ) and conbercept group (group Ⅲ),with 30 eyes in each group.The BCVA and central macular thickness (CMT) in the three groups at baseline were statistically no difference (F=0.072,0.286;P=0.930,0.752).Patients in group Ⅰ received intravitreal injection of 0.05 ml of 10.00 mg/ml conbercept solution (conbercept 0.5 mg),and macular grid pattern photocoagulation 3 days later.Group Ⅱ patients were given macular grid pattern photocoagulation.Times of injection between group Ⅰ and Ⅲ,laser energy between group Ⅰ and Ⅱ,changes of BCVA and CMT among 3 groups at 1 week,1 month,3 months and 6 months after treatment were compared.Results Patients in group Ⅰ and Ⅲ had received conbercept injections (1.20 ± 0.41) and (2.23 ± 1.04) times respectively,and 6 eyes (group Ⅰ) and 22 eyes (group Ⅲ) received 2-4 times re-injections.The difference of injection times between two groups was significant (P＜0.001).Patients in group Ⅱ had received photocoagulation (1.43 ±0.63) times,9 eyes had received twice photocoagulation and 2 eyes had received 3 times of photocoagulation.The average laser energy was (96.05 ±2.34) μV in group Ⅰ and (117.41 ±6.85) μV in group Ⅱ,the difference was statistical significant (P=0.003).BCVA improved in all three groups at last follow-up.However,the final visual acuity in group Ⅰ and group Ⅲ were better than in group Ⅱ (t=4.607,-4.603;P＜0.001) and there is no statistical significant difference between group Ⅲ and group Ⅰ (t=-0.802,P=0.429).The mean CMT reduced in all three groups after treating for 1 week and 1 month,comparing that before treatment (t=-11.855,-10.620,-10.254;P＜0.001).There was no statistical difference of CMT between group Ⅰ and Ⅲ at each follow up (t=0.404,1.723,-1.819,-1.755;P=0.689,0.096,0.079,0.900).CMT reduction in group Ⅰ was more than that in group Ⅱ at 1 week and 1 month after treatments (t=-4.621,-3.230;P＜0.001,0.003).The CMT in group Ⅲ at 3 month after treatment had increased slightly comparing that at 1 month,but the difference was not statistically significant (t=1.995,P=0.056).All patients had no treatment-related complications,such as endophthalmitis,rubeosis iridis and retinal detachment.Conclusions Intravitreal conbercept injection combined with macular grid pattern photocoagulation is better than macular grid pattern photocoagulation alone in treating macular edema secondary to non-ischemic BRVO.Combined therapy also reduced injection times comparing to treatment using conbercept injection without laser photocoagulation.
