1.Protective effect of tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside on hippocampal neurons damage induced by glutamate in rats

ObjectiveTo observe the protective effect of tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside (TSG) on rats' hippocampal neuronal damage induced by glutamate (Glu) in the culture.MethodsHippocampus was isolated from newborn SD rats and dispersedly cultured in the medium for 9 days. Neurons were incubated with TSG (5—100μmol/L) for 24h, the cells were washed twice with Lock's solution without Mg2+,then Glu 500 μmol/L was added. Thirty min later, the reaction was terminated by washing the monolayer cells twice with the Lock's solution and then cultures were kept at 37℃ for 24h. Cell viability was measured by MTT method and cell membrane damage was determined by LDH leakage; with Fluo-3/AM as an intracellular calcium indicator and added into the bathing medium, fluorescent intensity of intracellular free calcium were observed through laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM).ResultsAfter the treatment with 5—100μmol/L TSG for 24h, the decrease of cell viability and the increase of LDH leakage caused by Glu was obviously resisted dose dependently. TSG inhibited increase of Ca2+ in cytoplasm, compared with model group.ConclusionTSG can significantly promote the cell viability and reduce the cell membrane damage in Glu treating hippocampal neurons. The neuroprotective activities of TGS is mediated by inhibiting Ca2+ overload in cytoplasm.
3.Protective Effect of Diphenyl Ethylene Glycoside on Hippocampal Neuron Cells Ischemic Injury Model Rats

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the protective effects of diphenyl ethylene glycoside(TSG)on hippocampal neuron cells ischemic injury model rats.METHODS:Hippocampal nerve cells ischemic injury rats’model was established with sodium dithionite,antagonism of TSG on ischemic cerebral injury was determined by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT)microcol-orimetry and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)efflux assay.RESULTS:Pseudo-ischemic cerebral injury could cause significant injury to neurons with elevated cell death rate,significantly decreased MTT value and increased LDH efflux rate.The appli-cation of TSG could lead in significantly decreased LDH efflux rate,elevated MTT value and reduced cell death rate.CON-CLUSION:TSG has a significant protective effect on nerve cells ischemic injury model rats.
4.Discussion on Symptoms Measurement of Traditional Chinese Medicine

The realization of symptom measurement of the traditional Chinese medicine is a must for the development of traditional Chinese medicine, which obtained a common acceptation academically. This article believed the methods for realizing symptom measurement are the combination of both TCM two basic theories of "the wholism conception" and "treatment based on syndrome differentiation" and modern scientific measures and methods. Meanwhile, the western medicine should be simply excluded, other than simply compare a TCM syndrome to a physiological and biochemical indicator of western medicine.
5.Effect of Different Ratios of Ginsenosides and Panax Notoginsenosides on Proliferation of Rats Peritoneal Mesothelial Cells in Peritoneal Dialysis Solution

Objective To investigate the effect of different ratios of ginsenosides(GS) and panax notoginsenosides(PNS),which are extracted from Qi-strengthening herbs of Radix Ginseng and blood-activating herbs of Radix Notoginseng respectively,on rats peritoneal mesothelial cells(PMCs) in peritoneal dialysis solution(PDS).Methods PMCs were isolated from rat peritoneal membrane by trypsin digestion method,and then a stable PMCs culture model was established.PMCs were pre-exposed in 4.25% PDS for 3 hours,and then respectively grew in culture solution with different ratios of GS or PNS for 6 hours.The capacity of proliferation of rat PMCs was assessed by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) assay.Results GS 100?g/mL and PNS 80?g/mL showed protective effect on the proliferation of injured PMCs in PDS(P 0.05).Conclusion The combination of GS and PNS,which are extracted from Qi-strengthening herbs of Radix Ginseng and blood-activating herbs of Radix Notoginseng respectively,exerts certain protective effect on PMCs in peritoneal dialysis solution.

Academe hash't got the same view about science attribute of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)up to now.This article demonstrates the scientific attribute of the traditional Chinese medicine from the nature of science,the seientific attribute of medical science and the relationship between the traditional Chinese medicine and medical science.TCM needs development.In order to develop the traditional Chinese medicine quickly,on the basis of inheriting tradition,we should make the best use of modem scientific technology.Not simply copy the theories and methods of western medicine but using the scientific measurement to build up the measurement of TCM symptoms,the relationship between symptoms and the change of the body,explore the process of physiology and pathology,and combine with western medicine to develop a mature science-medical science.
7.Research Progress,Bottlenecks and Strategies in the Plant Bioreactor

Past decade,plants as production systems for recombinant proteins has been actively investigated,and is one of the most active research fields in life sciences. Plants are attractive as protein factories because they with advantages of cost,scale,and safety,and emerge capability to produce pharmaceutical production with bioactivity proved by previously studies. The plant-made pharmaceuticals possess enormous viability for market and wide prospects for application. Based on those reasons,the rise of plant bioreactor was reviewed,and research advance on the expression systems and plant-made recombinant proteins was introduced. Bottleneck problems and adopted strategies using plant system to produce recombinant proteins and research hotspot in the near future were summarized,and prospect of plant bioreactor in future was described. Synchronously,some opinions including research progress of plant bioreactor,differences to foreign and strategies in the future were discussed.
8.Effects of Hirudo on level of Endothelin-1 in diabetic nephyropathy rats

AIM:To study the effect of Hirudo on level of Endothelin-1(ET-1),kidney structure and function in diabetic nephyropathy(DN) rats. METHODS: STZ-induced DN rats were randomly divided into four groups: model group,Hirudo(17.5 g/kg,8.75 g/kg) treatment group,and captopril group,in addition,normal rats for control group.All rats were given by ig for 6 weeks.Kidney function and kidney index(kidney weight/body weight) were determined,the level of ET-1 was determined by Radioimmunoassay,the expression of ET-1 in the kidney tissue by immunohistochemicai,and kidney tissue was observed by lightmicroscope and transmission electron microscope. RESULTS: The level and expression of ET-1,kidney index in DN rats significantly increased.The level and expression of ET-1 markedly decreased in Hirudo treatment group,and kidney pathologic changes of DN rats in Hirudo treatment group were improved. CONCLUSION: Hirudo can ameliorate early kidney hyperdynamic abnormality in DN rats,possess protective effect on kidney of DN rats,whose mechanism may be associated partly with a down-regulation of levels and expression of ET-1.

Doctors ought to belong to a social stratum with fairly high incomes. The high input and long cycle that is essential to becoming a high-caliber doctor constitute the high costs of the medical profession; high technology, high responsibility and high sacrifices constitute the high risks of the medical profession; the contrast between the input of high intelligence, high academic degree, and high expertise and the output of low economic income tends to warp the minds of doctors. The inversion of the burden of proof in medical lawsuits has practically put doctors on the weak side. Their rights and interests as well as their practice circumstances have been disregarded. For the sake of the development of the health cause, it is imperative to respect the labor of doctors and to provide them with sound survival circumstances.
10.Effect of Congsheng Capsule on free radical change after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in mice

Object To investigate the effects of Congsheng Capsule (CSC) on free radical change after cerebral ischemia reperfusion, and analyze the mechanisms of CSC anti cerebral ischemia action. Methods Bilateral carotid artery occlusion and reperfusion combined with tail bleeding hypotension were employed in this study. Changes in free radicals were observed by means of spectro photometry. Results CSC 1, 3, 9 g/kg could enhance SOD activity, reduce the MDA content, and decrease NOS activity and NO content. Conclusion The protective effects of CSC on cerebral ischemia may be mediated by its anti free radical and NO damage.
