Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(11):-
Icarrin is the main monomer extracted and purified from Epimedium koreanum Nakai. Using dependentcell lines and LDH release assay, the synergistic effects of icarrin on inducing IL-2, 3, 6 and enhancing NK,LAK cell activity were studied. Results showed that icarrin can induce tonsil mononuclear cells to produce IL-2, IL-3,and IL-6 in collaboration with PHA in a dose-dependent manner. IL-2 and IL-6 peaked at 48h after reaction, and IL-3 peaked at 72h. Icarrin enhanced NK and LAK cell activity dose-dependentlylthe LAK activitypeaked on the 5th day. These results suggested that icarrin may be an effective BRM agent

Objective To elucidate the relationship between Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinaseⅡ(CaMKⅡ)and autophagy during the development of cardiac hypertrophy. Methods Rat embryonic cardiac cell line H9c2 cells was treated by angiotensin Ⅱ to establish cardiomyocyte hypertrophy model in vitro and using antagonists and gene function gain and loss to analyze AMPK-LC3Ⅱ autophagy signaling pathway. Results The phosphorylation of CaMKⅡ and autophagy related signaling-AMPK and autophagy marker LC3Ⅱ were rapidly increased by angiotensinⅡtreatment at early stage. However ,the above changes were highly blocked by CaMKⅡinhibitor and HDAC4 inhibition. Conclusion CaMKⅡ is the center factor of regulating cardiac hypertrophy ,it mediates autophagy through directly regulating AMPK or indirectly regulating HDAC4 during the development of cardiac hypertrophy.

Objective To study distribution of the calcitonin gene-related peptide-immunoreactive fibers in the cremaster arteries of the rat. Methods The distribution of the calcitonin gene-related peptide-immunoreactive fibers in the cremaster arteries had been studied by means of ABC technique. Results The calcitonin gene-related peptide-immunoreactive fibers were observed on all branches of cremaster arteries. The immunoreative fibers in first and second branches of the arteries exhibited the denser grains and denser mass, but in third branches, the network of the fibers was obvious. The density of the immunoreactive fibers reduced following the bifurcations of the arteries. The network of the fibers also could be found in the capillary. Conclusion The results demonstrated that the distribution of calcitonin gene-related peptide immunoreactive fibers might be related to the physiological regulation and microcirculation of the cremaster arteries. It formed the morphological basis for experimental model of researching nerve regulation in the microcirculation.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(12):1207-1211
Objective:
To investigate the prevalence of Internet addiction among primary and middle school students in Jiaxing City, so as to provide insights into the development of interventions for Internet addiction among primary and middle school students.
Methods:
A total of 1 701 students were sampled from two primary schools, two junior high schools, two senior high schools and two vocational high schools in Jiaxing City during the period between September and October, 2021, using the stratified cluster sampling method. The Internet addiction status was evaluated using the Internet Addiction Test, and the depression status was tested using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), while the anxiety was assessed with the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7).
Results:
The participants included 783 men (46.03%) and 918 women (53.97%), and 873 rural students (51.32%) and 828 urban students (48.68%). The overall detection of Internet addiction was 6.53% among the participants, and the prevalence of moderate and severe Internet addiction was 5.88% and 0.65%, respectively. A higher prevalence of Internet addiction was detected in rural students (χ2=4.695, P<0.05), junior high school students (χ2=65.337, P<0.05), students with a poor relationship with family members (χ2=39.231, P<0.05), teachers (χ2=28.799, P<0.05) and classmates (χ2=36.341, P<0.05). The prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms was 23.81% and 21.52%, respectively, and the prevalence rates of depressive and anxiety symptoms were both higher among primary and middle school students with Internet addiction (68.47% and 56.76%) than among those without Internet addiction (χ2=130.556 and 87.327, both P<0.05).
Conclusion
The prevalence of Internet addiction is high among primary and middle school students living in rural areas and with poor interpersonal relationships in Jiaxing City. Students with Internet addiction are more likely to develop depressive and anxiety symptoms.
