1.Type 2 inflammatory responses in atopic dermatitis
Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2021;54(1):84-88
Studies have shown that the type 2 inflammatory response and related cytokines such as interleukin-4 and -13, play a key role in atopic dermatitis (AD) . Th2 cells and type 2 cytokines are the core factors in the type 2 inflammatory response, which is mainly involved in the pathogenesis of AD through 3 pathways: aggravating skin barrier defects; activating and strengthening the itching response; pathologically reprograming regulatory T cells into Th2-like regulatory T cells to amplify the type 2 inflammatory response. This review explores the relationship between the type 2 inflammatory response and AD, aiming to help optimize treatment regimens and provide new treatment options for patients with AD.
2.New progress in treatment of hypophosphatasia
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2021;36(2):151-154
Hypophosphatasia (HPP) is caused by loss-of-function mutation(s) of the gene that encodes the tissue-nonspecific isoenzyme of alkaline phosphatase (TNSALP). Its manifestations are variable, including impaired skeletal mineralization, altered calcium and phosphate metabolism, recurrent fractures, pain, impaired mobility, premature tooth loss, developmental delay, and seizures. There are different attempts for HPP.Asfotase alfa (Strensiq?), is a bone-targeted recombinant TNSALP which has shown significant improvements in morbidity and mortality in patients with perinatal and infantile hypophosphatasia, and it can improve growth, mobility function and quality of life. This enzyme replacement therapy has generally been well-tolerated, with most adverse reactions being mild-to-moderate in nature. This article reviews recent advances in the treatment of the disease.

5.Effects of Low Intensity Treadmill Training on Spatial Learning and Memory and Expression of Glycogen Synthase Kinase-3β in Hippocampus in Mice
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2013;19(11):1016-1019
Objective To investigate the effects of low intensity treadmill training on spatial learning and memory and expression of glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) in hippocampus in mice. Methods 24 female C57BL/6J mice of 3 months were assigned into control group (n=12) and exercise group (n=12). They were assessed with Morris Water Maze task 5 months after exercise. The GSK-3β protein and mRNA expressed in hippocampus were determined 1 week after the task. Results The latency and path length to escape onto the hidden platform decreased in the exercise group (P<0.05), while the cross times increased (P<0.05) compared with the control group. The level of GSK-3β mRNA decreased (P<0.05) and ratio of p-GSK-3β-Ser9 to GSK-3β increased (P<0.05) as well. Conclusion Low intensity treadmill exercise may improve the spatial learning and memory in mice, which may down-regulate the expression and activity of GSK-3β.
6.Advance in research on liver cell injury and its initiation in developing new drugs for treating liver diseases
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
Liver cell death, including apoptosis and necrosis, is triggered by a number of insults. The apoptotic cascade involving the participation of proteolytic caspases is an important pathway of cell death. Mitochondria play a key role in liver cell death. TNF as an important mediator plays an crucial action in liver cell death. Reactive oxygen metabolites may act directly or through immunological mechanism as initiating factors and modulators in liver cell necrosis and apoptosis. Some intrinsic factors may act on the cascade of liver cell death. The extensive knowledge gained in recent years about the mechanisms of hepatocyte death will lead to new and exciting advances in the prevention and treatment of liver diseases.
8.Significance of ARHI protein in adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2011;34(24):1-3
ObjectiveTo detect the expression of ARHI protein in adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix and normal uterine cervix tissue, and explore the pathogenesis of cervical cancer. MethodsThe expression of ARHI protein in 30 cases of adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix tissue and 30 cases of normal uterine cervix tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry and analyzed the relationship between ARHI protein and adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix. ResultsThe expression of ARHI protein in adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix tissue[46.67%(14/30)]was lower than that in normal uterine cervix tissue[90.00%(27/30)],the difference was significant (P<0.05). There was intimate correlation between ARHI protein and histological grade, FIGO stage of adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix tissue (P < 0.05), there was no correlation between ARHI protein and lymphatic metastasis (P>0.05). ConclusionsThe expression of ARHI protein in adenooarcinoma of the uterine cervix decreases which indicates the expression of ARHI protein take part in the carcinogenesis of adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix. It can be used as a new diagnostic indicator of adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix.
