1.Impact of motor imaginary therapy on recovery of upper limb function in patients with acute cerebral infarction
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2009;17(1):7-10
Objective To investigate the impact of motor imaginary therapy on the recovery of upper limb function in acute cerebral infarction patients with bemiplegia. Methods Fifty cerebral infarction patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into a control group (drug therapy + early exercise therapy) and a motor imaginary therapy group (drug therapy + early exercise therapy + motor imaginary therapy) using single-blind method (n = 25 in each group). Ipsilateral upper extremity function was assessed by the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) before the treatment and at day 40. The active range of motion (AROM) of the ipsilateral wrist was measured by a conimeter. Eating, washing, dressing, and putting on and off clothes were assessed by the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scale. Results The scores of FMA, AROM and FIM were increased more significantly than those before the treatment in both groups (P <0.05). All the scores in the motor imaginary therapy group after the treatment were superior to those in the control group (P <0. 05) (FMA 28.33 ± 8.63 versus 15.93 ± 5.39;AROM 19.55 ± 8.30 versus11.97 ± 6.59; FIM 16.83 ± 5.43 versus 12.51 ± 3.36).Conclusions Conventional motor rehabilitation training + motor imaginary therapy during the acute phase may promote the motor function reco,,ery in cerebral infarction patients with hemiplegia.
3.Detection of specific IgE and etiological analysis of Henoch-Schonlein purpura in acute phase in children
Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(9):947-949
Objective To explore the allergic status and allergen composition in children with acute Henoch-Schonlein Purpura in Wuxi by allergen detection, thereby to establish appropriate therapeutic strategies. Methods Two hundred and forty-six patients with Henoch-Schonlein Purpura in their acute phase were examined for serum concentrations of total IgE and specific IgE using Germany AllergyScreen system. Results The positive rate of allergen-specific serum IgE was 48.7% (120/246) ,of which, positive reactions to two or more than two allergens were found in 86 cases (34.9%) and that to one kind of allergen were found in 34 cases (13.8%)The positive rate of total serum IgE was 78.9% (194/246). In inhalation allergen group, positive reaction to allergen was found in 134 cases (54.5%). The most common allergen was dust mite/flour mites (19.1%) ,and came the next were house dust(17.1%) and Penicillium notatum/Alternaria alternata(10.2%). In food allergen group, positive reaction to allergen was found in 77 cases (31.3%). The most common allergen was fish (6.5%),and came the next were egg (5.7%) and mutton (5.3%). We found no significantly different allergen positive rates between inhalation allergens group and food allergens group (χ2 = 2.59, P > 0.05). Conclusions The combined allergens attacks were more common in children patients with acute Henoch-Schonlein Purpura by serum allergen detection. Various types of the allergens are associated with the occurrence of acute Henoch-Schonlein Purpura. To reduce the harmness of allergens,it is necessary to avoid touching these allergens.
4.ULTRASTRUCTURE OF PERINEURIAL CELLS AND FIBROUS LONG-SPACING BODIES (FLS) IN ENDONEURIUM OF NORMAL HUMAN PERIPHERAL NERVE
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
The perineurial cells of the small nerve branch of the normal human abdominal wall are observed with electron microscope. The fibrous long-spacing bodies (FLS) are found within the interstitial substance of the endoneurium. 1. 2-5 layers of the perineurial cells surround the nerve fasciculus. The perineurial cells are squamous in shape and the cytoplasm contains microfilaments and pinocytotic vesicles. Each perineurial cell has an obvious basement membrane on its basal surface but the fibroblasts, whatever situated in the endoneurium or on the outer surface of the perineurium, has no basement membrane. Numerous desmosome and some gap junctions between the close attached perineurial cells are demostrated. The collagen fibrils between perineurial cells can be often shown. FLS bodies and collagen fibrils about 45 nm in diameter in the interstitial substance of endoneurium inside perineurial cells are demonstrated. In the connective tissue surrounding the outside of perineurial cells, the collagen fibrils of 80 nm in diameter can be seen, but no FLS bodies present there. 2. FLS bodies in the endoneurial matrix can be demostrated. Most of them closely associated with the basement membrane of the Schwann cells surrounding the unmyelinated nerves but no FLS bodies are found associate with those of the myelinated nerves. A few FLS bodies do not relate to basement membrane and they are invested only with the collagen fibrils. In the longitudinal sections, most of FLS bodies are in spindle shape of various sizes, their longitudinal axes parallel to that of the adjoining collagen fibrils. Sometimes the FLS bodies continue with the collagen fibrils are found. Occasionally, FLS body like a bridge locate between two Schwann cells and its dark bands continue to the basement membrane of the Schwann cells. Two or three FLS bodies may fuse together but their cross bands do not registered at the same level. In the oblique sections, FLS bodies are nearly rectangular in shape, with the cross bands shown, and their appearance do not show greaty difference from those in longitudinal sections. The periodicity of FLS bodies is about 133nm in length; the dark band in it is about 53 nm, which is made of the dense granular substance; the light band is about 80 nm, which is made of a network with approximated parallel microfilaments. There are no further crossstriated structures within the periods. Some problems, such as the role of the perineurial cells, the relationship of FLS bodies with basement membrane, are briefly discussed.
5.Correlation between osteoarthritis and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(10):-
The hallmark of osteoarthnitis(OA) is the loss of articular cartilage caused by an imbalance between cartilage synthesis and degredation over a variable period of time.IL-1 plays an important role in the course. The IL-1receptor antagonist(IL-Ra) specific against IL-1 is becoming a pivot of wide attention. The article offers a review of the relationship between the IL-1Ra and OA.
6.Effect of TNF-? on murine osteoclast differentiation
Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2003;0(04):-
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of TNF-? on osteoclast differentiation in primary murine bone marrow cell culture with and without RANKL. Methods: M-CSF-dependent bone marrow cells were isolated from 5-6 weeks old mice, and cultured in the presence of M-CSF (25 ?g/L) with different concentrations of TNF-? (0, 1, 10, 100 ?g/L) for 5 days, the formation of TRAP(+) multinucleated cells was observed. These cells were also cultured in the presence of both RANKL (30 ?g/L) and M-CSF (25 ?g/L) with or without 10 ?g/L TNF-? for 4, 5, 6 and 9 days. The number of TRAP(+) multinucleated cells and resorption pits on dentine slices were counted under light microscope. Results: In the absence of RANKL, TNF-? was unable to induce osteoclast formation from murine bone marrow precursors. In the presence of RANKL, TNF-? augmented osteoclastogenesis and bone resorption, and this effect occurred only on the early stage. Conclusion: TNF-? enhances RANKL-induced osteoclast formation and function, but can’t substitute for RANKL. TNF-? stimulates osteoclast differentiation, but not survival.
