Objective: To establish an animal model for research of maxillary protraction. Methods: 16 pubertal rabbits were assigned randomly to 2 groups. Titanium bone markers were fixed on each side of mucogingival junction, 1 cm above incisor teeth. The experimental group underwent maxillary protraction by self-made distraction devices. A down and forward elastic force (about 3.43 N) was exerted for 30 days. Results: In 30 d, the distance of premaxilla movement in the experimental group was 1.89 mm averagely, while that in the control group was only 0.11 mm. Cephalometric analysis indicated that the maxilla of rabbits was moved forward obviously by appliance in the experimental group, and maxilla was not rotated. There was no obvious difference between the control and the experimental groups. Conclusion: Animal model used in this experiment for maxillary protraction is reliable. The appliance can move the rabbits maxilla forward obviously during the maxillary protraction.

Objective To understand the risk factors of the elderly in community of Haining city in patients with Alzheimer's disease. Methods Take the elderly Chang street Haining city selected cluster sampling method 7 437 ≥60 years as the research subjects,by using a self-designed questionnaire Alzheimer's disease causes and clinical dementia rating scale, understanding the factors that may affect Alzheimer's disease and aggravating factors, and the data of multi factor regression analysis. Results Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that women (Wald x2 =19.96,P < 0.01),aged (Wald x2 =96.01,P < 0.01),widowed (Wald x2 =5.09,P < 0.05),smoking/drinking (Wald x2 =47.77,P < 0.01),living alone (Wald x2 =16.14,P < 0.01),depression (Wald x2 =12.05,P < 0.01) were the risk factors of Alzheimer's disease; Rural (Wald x2 =458.11,P < 0.01) ; Lowculture (Wald x2 =121.39,P <0.01) were protective factors for Alzheimer's disease.According to the clinical dementia rating scale of disease severity assessment and pathogenesis of polytomous Logistic regression, the results showed that the elderly (Wald x2 =50.37,P < 0.01),lowculture (Wald x2 =30.39,P < 0.01),widowed (Wald x2 =5.20,P < 0.05),living alone (Wald x2 =16.50,P < 0.01),somatic diseases (Wald x2 =16.58,P < 0.01) and large maternal age (Wald x2 =10.53,P < 0.01) were risk factors for disease. Conclusion Age,widowed, solitude are common risk factors of Alzheimer's disease and aggravating factors, should be combined with risk factors for chronic disease management actively take measures to prevent and delay the occurrence, the development of Alzheimer's disease.

Objective To study the change and clinical significance of serum sex hormone levels in patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD).Methods The 1:1 case-control study, male AD group in 25 cases, control group in 25 cases, female AD group in 25 cases,25 cases in the control group. The serum sex hormone levels were measured by chemiluminescence immtmoassay in the two groups, and the data were analyzed. Results There was statistically significant difference in estradiol level between female patients and the control group[(40.820 ± 23.249) pmol/L vs.(153.700 ±113.900) pmol/L,t =4.85,P < 0.001].There were statistically significant differences between male patients and the control group,in estradiol[(99.243 ± 34.657) pmol/L vs.(124.t00 ± 38.432) pmool/L],testosterone [(7.904 ±3.944) nmol/L vs.(19.142 ±7.882) nmol/L] levels (t =2.40,6.37,all P <0.05).No significant difference was observed in testosterone level in the female groups (P > 0.05).The promoting follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, progesterone, prolactin levels between the male group and female group had no statistically significant differences (all P > 0.05).In patients with simple intelligent screening scale (Mini-Mental State Examination,MMSE),the score was significantly correlated with the level of estradiol (r =-0.281,P < 0.05).Conclusion The level of women's estrogen decline is related to factor in the pathogenesis of AD,estradiol, testosterone levels of male decline is related to factor in the pathogenesis of AD.Estradiol level is low,the severity of the disease moreand more heavy.

Objective To investigate the mutation characteristics in exon 7 of the PAH gene in phenylketonuria(PKU) patients in Xinjiang. Methods The mutations in exon 7 of PAH gene were detected by PCR/SSCP in 37 PKU patients. Results Five missense mutations including R243Q,L255S,E280G, E280K and P281L were identified in 74 chromosomes from 37 PKU patients, with relative frequencies of 18.9%,4.1%,1.4%,1.4% and 1.4% respectively. The frequency of mutant alleles in exon 7 was 27%. Among the five mutations,it was the second time the E280G mutation was reported in the world. In China,it was the second time the L255S,E280K and P281 L mutations were found.P281L and R243Q mutations were first found in 2 of Chinese Uygur.Considering the previous reports and the present study,R243Q was the most prevalent form in Asian PKU populations.P281L and E280K were two common mutations in PKU patients from European countries.However,E280G and L255S were two characteristic forms in Chinese. Condusions Characteristics of PAH gene mutations are shown in Chinese PKU population from Xinjiang, which is a special distribution belt that located between China and Europe. The results give a clue that Xinjiang could probably be an ideal genetic resource repertoire for studying diversity of gene mutations, heterogeneity of PAH gene, human genesis and migration.

【Objective】 To explore the application value of free prostate specific antigen density(fPSAD) based on rectal ultrasound in the prediction of prostate biopsy results. 【Methods】 Data of 578 patients undergoing transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy during Jan.2014 and Jul.2021 were retrospectively analyzed, including prostate specific antigen(PSA) level, free prostate specific antigen(fPSA) level, fPSA/total prostate specific antigen(tPSA), prostate specific antigen density(PSAD), combined prostate specific antigen density(cPSAD), fPSAD, prostate volume and other clinical parameters. 【Results】 There were 253 cases of prostate cancer and 325 cases of prostatic hyperplasia. The positive puncture rate was 43.8%. The critical value of fPSAD was 0.05, the corresponding area under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was 0.830, and the Yoeden index was 0.539. The sensitivity, specificity, diagnosis accordance rate and Kappa value of fPSAD to predict prostate cancer were 0.76, 0.77, 76.7% and 0.529, respectively. Compared with PSA, fPSA/tPSA and PSAD, PSA had the highest sensitivity (92.5%), fPSAD had the highest specificity (77.2%), and fPSAD had the highest diagnostic accordance rate (76.7%). 【Conclusion】 When transrectal prostate volume measurement is used to predict prostate cancer, fPSAD has relatively high specificity and diagnosis accordance rate, which is obviously better than using PSA, fPSA/tPSA ratio and PSAD alone in the differential diagnosis and prediction of prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia.
