Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Rats were divided into 6 groups fed with 2 levels of zinc (1.41 and 100 ppm) and 3 levels of vitamin A (retinyl acetate 0, 7 and 46 mg/kg). Each group of the rats was tube-fed for 18 days and killed on the 19th day of experiment. Growth rate, zinc and vitamin A levels in serum and tissues, alkaline phosphatase (AKP) activity in serum, total protein and hemoglobin concentrations were measured. Both zinc levels in serum and tissues and AKP activity of the zinc deficient groups were significantly lower than those of the control group. The serum vitamin A values were distinctively depressed in the vitamin A free and vitamin A normal group. The serum vitamin A values in the vitamin A enriched group were not affected by zinc deficient diet and its serum zinc levels was higher than vitamin A free and normal group. The results suggest that zinc deficiency will interfere the release of vitamin A from liver and lead to the decrease of blood vitamin A, which may occurs only when the blood zinc is lower than a certain "critical level" . Different levels of vitamin A have different effect on rats of zinc deficiency, such as vitamin A deficiency will aggravate the zinc deficient symptoms and the increase of vitamin A intake can alleviate zinc deficient harms.

Objective To investigate the dose distribution and radiation risk of Varian thoracic cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) with default parameters with reference to Monte Carlo simulation and International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) report 110.Methods EGSnrc/BEAMnrc code was used to simulate the material, thickness, and geometry of the kV CBCT source (kVS) to establish the kVS model.A benchmarked MCSIM code was applied to calculate the dose distribution in the ICRP phantom after the scan with the standard thoracic parameters (110 kV, 20 mA, and 262 mAs), and the conversion coefficient of absolute dose was obtained in a spherical phantom following the TG-61 protocol. The results of Monte Carlo simulation were validated by PDD and Profile in a water phantom and the measurement of the absolute dose in the computed tomography dose index (CTDI) phantom and Alderson phantom. The models including BEIR VⅡ were used to evaluate the radiation risks. Results With reference to the criterion of 3%/1 mm, the uncertainties of PDD and Profile were less than 2%.The difference between the measured and calculated values was<2.9% in the CTDI phantom and ≤0.05 cGy in the Alderson phantom. In the ICRP110 phantom, the doses to the left lung, right lung, left breast, right breast, heart, thyroid, trachea, cancellous bone, and cortical bone were 1.28, 1.39, 1.74, 1.80, 1.46, 0.48, 0.88, 0.85, and 1.84 cGy, respectively. The relative risks of ischemic heart disease, breast cancer, lung cancer, thyroid cancer, and tracheal cancer in a standard scan were1.001 , 1.009, 1.019, 1.000, and 1.008, respectively. Conclusions The accumulated dose and long-term risks of CBCT during image-guided thoracic radiotherapy cannot be neglected and should be effectively controlled.

Bc58 is a UV resistant wild type strain that has an ability to produce a sorrel pigment induced by L-tyrosine.The FT-IR spectra and chemical tests of its pigment are similar to that of the standard melanin(Sigma).By bioassay shows that the LC_(50) of a Bt formulation added with the melanin of Bc58 and exposed to UV for 5 h is 16.1?g/mL,which is similar to that of Bt formulation without treated with UV,however,it is almost double higher than that of Bt formulation exposed to UV without the melanin of Bc58.The result of SDS-PAGE indicates that the melanin of Bc58 can protect the insecticidal crystal proteins from degradation. It suggests that an excellent UV protective agent to the insecticidal crystal proteins of Bt formulation.

Objective To study the effects of Cad-Ⅱgene on osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells in vitro. Methods The human marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs) were isolated and cultured in vitro before they were divided into 2 groups. In the transfeetion group, the hBMSCs were transfeeted with Cad- Ⅱgene;in the simple osteogenic inducement group, they were cultured in the condition medium. Then the expressions of Cad- Ⅱ protein were determined and the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities and the expressions of ostcocalein were measured at 3, 7, 14 and 21 days for comparison between the 2 groups. Results The ALP activity and positive expression of osteoealcin were regulated significantly higher in the transfeetion group than in the simple osteogenic inducement group at different times (P <0.05). The mineralized nodes began to appear at 14 days in the 2 groups and increased with time. Conclusion Cad-Ⅱgene transfeetion can promote differentiation of hBMSCs into the osteoblasts.

In this study, we explored the feasibility of biotin-mediated modified polymeric micelles for pancreatic cancer targeted photodynamic therapy. Poly (ethylene glycol)-distearoyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine (mPEG2000-DSPE) served as the drug-loaded material, biotin-poly(ethylene glycol)-distearoyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine (Biotin-PEG3400-DSPE) as the functional material and the polymeric micelles were prepared by a thin-film hydration method. The targeting capability of micelles was investigated by cell uptake assay in vitro and fluorescence imaging in vivo and the amounts of Biotin-PEG-DSPE were optimized accordingly. Hypocrellin B (HB), a novel photosensitizer was then encapsulated in biotinylated polymeric micelles and the anti-tumor efficacy was evaluated systemically in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that micelles with 5 mol % Biotin-PEG-DSPE demonstrated the best targeting capability than those with 20 mol % or 0.5 mol % of corresponding materials. This formulation has a small particle size [mean diameter of (36.74 ± 2.16) nm] with a homogeneous distribution and high encapsulation efficiency (80.06 ± 0.19) %. The following pharmacodynamics assays showed that the biotinylated micelles significantly enhanced the cytotoxicity of HB against tumor cells in vitro and inhibited tumor growth in vivo, suggesting a promising potential of this formulation for treatment of pancreatic cancer, especially those poorly permeable, or insensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
