2.Recent progress in immunomodulatory mechanisms of mesenchymal stem cells in diabetic retinopathy
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2016;32(2):221-224
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a common cause of blindness, its occurrence and development are the synergic results of multiple factors.Current studies suggest that inflammation and inflammatory factor has an important role in the pathogenesis of DR.The occurrence and development of DR are closely related with interleukins, intercellular adhesion molecules, hasten factors, tumor necrosis factor,C-reactive protein etc.Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are pluripotent cells derived from the mesoderm and have multiple differentiation potentials, and anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive function.Recent studies shown that MSCs transplantation can protect damaged retina by inflammatory regulation, which become a new research direction for DR treatment.
3.Recent research progress between the microvesicle and diabetic retinopathy
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2017;33(3):321-324
Microvesicles (MVs) is small membrane vesicles released from different cell types under different conditions.Studies have shown that MVs may mediate vascular inflammation, angiogenesis, and other pathological processes.MVs may play an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy (DR) by mediating endothelial cell injury, thrombosis and neovascularization. The plasma MV level may be an effective parameter to monitor the development of DR.This article will summarize the research progress of the relationship between MVs and DR in recent years.
4.Flow shear stress promotes the endothelialization of small diameter tissue-engineered vessels
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(16):2515-2520
BACKGROUND: Magnitude and action ways of flow shear stress are important for the endothelialization of small diameter tissue-engineered vessels (TEV), and the TEV resistance ability to blood flow even decides the destiny of implantation. There are many studies on how to construct the TEV and improve anticoagulant ability of TEV after host cell implantation, but the effects of different flow shear stresses on the TEV endothelialization is rarely reported, which may be helpful for increasing the success rate of TEV implantation. OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of flow shear stresses in single level or stepwise increased on the endothelialization of small diameter TEV and to optimize the TEV in the aspects of shear stress magnitude and loading method. METHODS: The number, morphology and adhesion ability of endothelial cells on the inner wall of TEV were observed through silver nitrate and F-actin staining. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Single-level shear stress at 2.5, 3.0 N/m2 for 2 hours removed almost all the endothelial cells seeded on the inner wall of TEV. In contrast, stepwise increased shear stress from 0.5 N/m2 to 3.0 N/m2 at an increase of 0.2 N/m2/2 hours maintained the integrity and oriented along the flow direction, and could induce stress fibers productionin endothelial cells. These results suggest that the stepwise increased flow shear stress can improve the endothelialization of TEV.

Objective To investigate the drug in vitro release behavior of gastric floating sustained-release preparation of Tripterygium wilfordii and establish their quality evaluating methods. Methods HPLC was Employed to gain the fingerprints of releasing medium of preparations.Triptolide was selected as marker to calculate the linear equation concerning peak area then the relative drug release and f2 simila-rity factor value were acquired. Results Various components in gastric floating sustained-release tablets and pellets of T.wilfordii could not release synchronously while sustained-releasing but all of them in the gastric floating sustained-release capsules of T.wilfordii prepared by using multiparticulate site-controlled release technology could release synchronously while sustained-releasing.Conclusion The quality and in vitro release behavior of gastric floating sustained-release preparation of T.wilfordii could be evaluated more scientifically and comprehensively by using HPLC fingerprints method.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2014;(7):702-705
Objective Dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) is a novel functional imaging tech-nique for assessing the property of the tissue vessel .This study was to investigate whether DCE-MRI can manifest the angiogenesis of pri-mary liver cancer in the aspect of vascular permeability so as to provide more objective diagnostic information for the evaluation of primary liver cancer . Methods Twenty-one patients with primary liver cancer underwent DCE-MRI.The region of interest ( ROI) was placed in the whole tumor, the hot spot of the tumor and the adjacent liver parenchyma .Tissue 4D software package was used for the post-pro-cessing of the DCE-MRI images, the quantitative parameters including transfer constant (Ktrans), rate constant (Kep) and tumor extravas-cular extracellular space volume (Ve), and such semi-quantitative parameter as the initial area under the contrast concentration versus time curve (iAUC). Results The mean Ktrans, Kep, Ve and iAUC values were (0.124 ±0.057)/min, (0.632 ±0.158)/min, (0.205 ±0.098) and (10.009 ±6.201) in the adjacent liver parenchyma , (0.196 ±0.109)/min, (0.546 ±0.214)/min, (0.424 ± 0.160) and (13.675 ±6.113) in the whole tumor, and (0.422 ±0.170)/min, (0.780 ±0.308)/min, (0.589 ±0.116) and (35.663 ±19.086) in the hot spot of the tumor .All the parameters were significantly higher in the hot spot of the tumor than in the whole tumor (P<0.05), and so were Ktrans and Ve in the whole tumor than in the adjacent liver parenchyma (P<0.05), but Ktrans, Ve, and iAUC were markedly lower in the adjacent liver parenchyma than in the hot spot of the tumor (P<0.05). Conclusion Analysis of the vascular permeability of the tissue using DCE-MRI parameters can indirectly reflect the angiogenesis of the tumor and contribute to the evaluation of primary liver cancer , while monitoring the DCE-MRI pa-rameters of the hot spots of the tumor may allow more accurate evalua-tion of primary liver cancer .

Objective To explore the deficit features of verbal working memory of dyslexia children by comparing with normal children. Methods Seventeen normal children and fifteen dyslexia children finished the classic verbal n-back task which involved three memory updating difficulty levels. Results Dyslexia children ((81.7±7.0)%,(70.8±12.0)%,(60.0±7.0)%)performed worse than NC ((88. 6 ±6. 0)% , (83. 5 ± 7.0)% ,(75.6 ±9.0)%)in all memory updating levels(n = 0,1 ,2) (P<0.01). In the performances related to memory updating operating, when the difficulty of the updating rised dyslexia children(25. 9 ± 12. 0)% revealed greater decline than normal children(14.2 ± 12.0)% (P<0.01). Conclusion Dyslexia children demonstrate the deficit in the basic level of working memory, which was showed as the bad performance of n-back task in updating level zero, and also they had problems in memory updating, which was showed as the greater updating effect. Memory updating was regarded as the advanced procession of verbal working memory.
