Objective To detect the expression of AKT2 in human colon cancer and understand its relationship with PTEN.Methods The expressions of AKT2 and PTEN were detected in 30 patients with normal colonic tissues,30 patients with colon adenoma tissues,and 64 patients with colon carcinoma tissues by immunohistochemical SP staining method.Results The positive expressive rate of PTEN presented a trend of progressive decrease from normal tissues,adenoma tissues to colon carcinoma tissues,while the positive expression rate of AKT2 presented a trend of progressive increase.PTEN expression was obviously higher in normal colon tissues than in colon adenoma tissues and colon cancer tissues(?2=68.855,P

In recent years,fluorescent probes become more available for the progress of biology and gene technology,which has accelerated the development of fluorescence molecular imaging.With these fluorescent probes,target molecular,protein and gene can be specifically located and analyzed,which make possible the early detection and treatment of disease.This paper gives an introduction of the fluorescent probe technology and its application in the fields of biology and medicine.

Objective To improve the surgical treatment of square mandible deformity. Methods Based on cephalometric and facial feature, an integrated therapeutic project was designed. Through an oral approach the bilateral prominent mandibular angles were reseeted. Meanwhile, genioplasty was applied to correct chin deformity. Results From March 2000 to December 2006, 18 cases of square mandible with chin deformity were corrected with this procedure. The postoperative appearance was improved greatly after 3～6 months. Beautiful chin outline was reconstructed in esthetical standard. Mentolabial sulcus became natural and harmonious. Conclusion Mandible angle osteotomy combined with genioplasty is an ideal methods to recontour square mandible with chin deformity. It is beneficial to whole facial con-tour improvement.

Aim To investigate whether rosuvastatin induced reduction of atherosclerotic plaque was related to the expression of Sialyltransferase ( ST6 Gal-Ⅰ) in ApoE-/ - mice. Methods Six-weeks old ApoE-/ -mice fed with high fat were divided randomly into three groups: baseline group ( n=12 ) , control group ( n=12 ) and rosuvastatin group ( n =12 ) . Sixteen weeks later, control group was sacrificed. Serum and aortic intima were saved. Control group and rosuvastatin group were fed for seven weeks continually. Concentra-tions of serum lipids(TC, TG, LDL and HDL) were analyzed. Sections from the aortic root were examined by Hematoxylin-Eosin( HE) staining. The size of ath-erosclerotic lesion in each section was evaluated. Ex-pression of ST6 Gal-Ⅰ in aortic intima was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results Plasma TG and LDL-C, plaque areas and intimal thickness of control group were significant higher than those of baseline group ( P<0. 05 ) . Those results indicated that the AS model was successfully constructed. After seven weeks, the plaque areas and concentrations of serum lipids of rosu-vastatin group were obviously smaller than those of con-trol group(P<0. 05). The expression of ST6Gal-Ⅰin aortic root was decreased in control group compared to the baseline, and which was increased in control group compared to the rosuvastatin group. Conclusion Ro-suvastatin could inhibit the progression of atherosclero-sis, which might be related to the expression of ST6Gal-Ⅰ in aortic root.

Objective To study the CT features of small hepatocellular cancer.Methods 37 patients with small hepatocellular cancer proved histopathologically underwent spiral CT examinations including plain scans and contrast-enhanced scans.The arterial phase scan,the portal phase scan and delayed phase scan started at 25th second,70th second and 5th minute respectively after injecting the contrast medium with the high pressure syringe,the velocity was 2.5 ~3 ml/s,and the dose was 1.5 ml/kg.Results 73% (27/37) of tumors showed hyperdensity in arterial phase,65%(24/37) of tumors was hypodensity and 35% (13/37) had hyperdensity during portal phase,of which eight showed hypodensity in equilibrium phase.Conclusion Spiral CT can display the features of blood supply of small hepatocellular carcinoma that is of benefit in early diagnosis.

Objective To detect the expression of 84 signaling molecules associated with nuclear factor-κB in lesions of Uygur patients with psoriasis.Methods Skin specimens were obtained from the lesional and paralesional skin of eight Uygur patients with psoriasis.Total RNA was extracted from the skin specimens and reversely transcribed into cDNA.PCR-array analysis was carried out to quantify the expressions of 84 signaling molecules related to nuclear factor-κB.Genes with a fold-change ＞ or =2 were defined as differentially expressed.Results Among the 84 tested genes,22 showed upregulated expression,7 downregulated expression,and the remaining 54 genes showed no significant changes in psoriatic lesions compared with the normal skin.The strongest upregulation was observed in the gene expressions of Caspase recruitment domain family 11 (CARD11) and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor 2 (CSF2),and the most significant downregulation in the gene expression of interleukin 10 (IL-10),tumor necrosis factor superfamily member 5 (CD40) and nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cell inhibitor,epsilon (NFκBIE).Conclusion Multiple molecules involved in the NF-κB signaling pathway might be activated or inhibited in lesions of patients with psoriasis.

Objective To discuss diagnosis,treatment and late effects of three patients with acute radiation-induced skin injury after an accident.Methods Medical history collection and physical examination were made in a manner of one or several doctors to one patient.The general health condition was evaluated through laboratory studies,including complete blood count,liver and kidney function,thyroid function and humoral immunity measurement.The genetic analysis of radiation damage was performed by using chromosomal aberrations and micronucleus assay (CB method).The psychological status of the patients was evaluated during medical follow-up.Results Among the three patients,two were diagnosed with degree Ⅲ acute radiation-induced skin injury and one with degree Ⅱ.The medical follow-up showed that two patients had syndrome of neurasthenia.The two cases with degree Ⅲ acute radiation-induced skin injury then became chronic radiation-induced skin damage.Conclusions Acute radiation-induced skin injury could be persistent and become chronic radiation skin damage.It is important for long-term medical follow-up to be taken for patients with acute radiation-induced skin injury.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the ultra-filtration and the resistance to pollution of5ultra-filtrated membrane in respect of each of the compositions from the Isatis indigotica Fort.water-extraction,in order to produce the Isatis indigotica Fort.-preparation through ultra-filtrated method instead of ethanol-sedimentary method.METHODS:By measuring the quantities of the solid residue and the contents of polysaccharide,arginine and chloroform extraction in the ethanol-sedi?mentary solution and ultra-filtrated solution by gravimetry,TLC-scan and HPLC respectively.RESULTS:The solid residue in the ultra-filtered solution was lower than that in the ethanol-sedimentary solution;The content of polysaccharide in the ultra-filtered solution with polypropylene nitrile membrane and polysulfone-6000membrane were close to that in the ethanol-sedimentary solution.The arginine in the ultra-filtered solution was higher than that in the ethanol-sedimentary solution,but the chloroform extraction in the ultra-filtered solution was lower than that in ethanol-sedimentary solution;The resistance to pollution of polysulfone membrane was the strongest in these ultra-filtrated membrane.CONCLUSION:According to the requirement for isolation of active components,ultra-filtrated method with polysulfone-50000membrane could be used instead of ethanol-sedimentary method for efficient and economical application.

Adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction is a special type of tumor,not only in the special location,but also in the biological characteristics and clinical manifestations are unique.Surgery is the main treatment,but surgery alone sometimes result in poor prognosis,as a new direction of cancer treatment,Molecular targeting therapy is playing an increasingly important role.Some molecular targets such as vascular endothelial growth factor,hepatocyte growth factor receptor,epidermal growth factor receptor,fibroblast growth factor receptor 2,human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 in the treatment of esophageal gastric adenocarcinoma show a broad prospect.This review summarizes the current status and progress of molecular targeted therapy of adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction.
