Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of emergency transcatheter arterial embolization in the management of intractable postpartum hemorrhage. Methods Twenty-five patients with intractable postpartum hemorrhage were undertaken superselective catheterization into the bilateral internal iliac arteries or uterial arteries to find the causes and sites of bleeding through DSA and then followed by arterial embolization with gelfoam particles. Result All of the 25 patients with obstetrical bleeding were successfully controlled by TAE, the procedure lasted for 25 - 60 min, (mean 42.5 ? 4.6 min); with both catheterization and bleeding halt successful rates of 100%. Comparison of hemoglobin and heartbeat before and after the procedure showed significance(t = 29.49, P

BACKGROUND:Mechanical property test is an important method to evaluate the effect of drug treatment on the animal model of osteoporosis. But there are rare reports on the tensile mechanical test for evaluating the therapeutic effects of a variety of drugs on a female rat model of senile osteoporosis. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects ofGusukang capsule, alendronate, vitamin K and calcium on tensile properties of the humerus in the rat model of osteoporosis. METHODS: Totaly 180 female Wistar rats, 4-5 months old, were randomized into six groups, 30 in each group. Except the rats in the normal control group, al the rats were subjected to make ovariectomized osteoporosis models. Then, rats were givenGusukang capsule (0.9 g/kg/d), alendronate (1 mg/kg/d), vitamin K (0.1 mg/kg/d) and calcium (2 mg/kg/d) in theGusukang capsule, alendronate, vitamin K and calcium groups, respectively. After 15 weeks, the bilateral humeri were taken from al the rats, and the tensile test was carried out on an electronic universal testing machine at a speed of 5 mm/min. The fracture morphology of the specimen was observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The maximum load and maximum strain of the rat fumerus were significantly lower in the model group than in the normal control,Gusukangcapsule, alendronate and vitamin K groups (P < 0.05). There were no differences in the maximum load, maximum stress and maximum strain between the calcium group and model group (P > 0.05). These findings indicate that the tensile properties of the humerus can be improved by Chinese medicine, western medicine and vitamin K, especialy by the Chinese medicine.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the content determination of cabozantinib in its raw material. METHODS:RP-HPLC method was adopted. The determination was performed on Inertsil ODS-SP C18 column with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.02 mol/L ammonium acetate buffer (pH 5.2,52:48,V/V) at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Detection wavelength was set at 241 nm,the column temperature was 38 ℃,and sample size was 20 μL. RESULTS:The linear range of cabozantinib were 9.88-49.40 μg/mL(r=0.9999). The limit of quantitation was 11.46 ng,and the limit of detection was 3.36 ng. The RSDs of preci-sion,stability,repeatability tests were all lower than 2.0%;recoveries were 98.5%-101.7%(RSD=1.2%,n=9). CONCLU-SIONS:The method is simple, accurate and suitable for the content determination of cabozantinib in its raw material.

BACKGROUND:Induced pluripotent stem cel s have great prospects in tissue repair, due to the characteristic of self-renewal, multi-directional differentiation, no immunological rejection and ethics controversy.
OBJECTIVE:To summarize the differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cel s towards cardiomyocytes and endothelial cel s, and their applications in the cardiovascular diseases.
METHODS:The first author performed a data retrieval of PubMed and CNKI databases from 2000 to 2015 to search articles addressing the differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cel s towards cardiomyocytes and endothelial cel s, and reviewed the literatures systematical y. Final y, 78 articles were chosen for further analysis.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Induced pluripotent stem cel s can differentiate into cardiovascular cel s through a variety of methods. Factors such as cyclosporin A and ascorbic acid C may improve myocardial differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cel s, while vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor may improve the endothelial differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cel s. Cardiovascular cel s derived from induced pluripotent stem cel s can be applied to build disease models in vitro, transplantation in vivo and drug screening.

Objective To set up the 3D-finite element(FE)model of normal acetabulum-cartilage-femoral head,so that to provide an effective model for biomechanical analysis of femoral head.Methods(1)The hip joint in one healthy adult male volunteer was scanned by MRI at coronal section. The 3D reconstruction model of acetabulum-cartilage-femoral head was constructed with MATLAB and ANSYS software.(2)The 3D orthotropy finite element model of the acetabulum-cartilage-femoral head was constructed by givig the corresponding material parameters to the different structures of the model of acetabulum-cartilage-femoral head and divided into networks through ANSYS software.(3)The standing status was imitated on the model to set boundary condition and loading and then calculated. The effect of the model was evaluated in comparison with that of literature. Results A 3D orthotropy FE model of acetabulum-cartilage-femoral head was established successfully, including 89 961 points of 448 159 units. The maximal displacement was on the femoral head, and the maximal Von Mises stress was on the femur neck. The stress analysis was the same as the results of literature and the actuality. Conclusion A 3D orthotropy FE model of acetabulum-cartilage-femoral head can be setup based on MRI images, which can provide a reasonable and effective model for biomechamical analysis of femoral head.
