The complex field cure instrument is a new medical instrument with which an experiment was carried out. Rats were continuously irradiated by the complex field for 90 days, with a day's total dose of 285.9 M.T.G. while other rats weren't irradiated for control group. The animals were respectively killed at 7d, 14d, 30d, 60d and 90d, and their blood samples were taken for cell and humoral immune analysis. The results show that values of lymphocyte transform rate, soluble receptor (SIL-2R), total hemolytic complement levels (CH50) and immunoglobulin (A.G.) after irradiation are more than those of the control group having proved that the instrument may improve immune function of rats.

To clear the effect of the wound to the growth of the larva of the host to the Ophiocordyceps sinensis, the wounds of same severity at the same position were made artificially to the larva and which were artificial fed at the same environment and condition. The results indicated that, over the winter, the survival rate of the wounded of the infection larva was lower than that of the healthy larva, but the weight had no significant difference between the wounded and the healthy larva. The survival rate of the wounded of the no infection larva was lower than that of the healthy larva, but except with black skin, the wounded larva with offwhite and dusty red had no influence on the variety of the weight. In summery, wound had no advantage to the survival rate, but had no influence to the weight. The result had provided theoretical basis to the reforming of the system of the artificial culture O. sinensis.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of ulinastatin on coagulation in children who underwent open-heart surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).
METHODSFifty children who underwent open-heart surgery for ventricular septal defect were randomly divided into two groups: ulinastatin treatment and control. Before CPB, ulinastatin (1.0×10(4) U/kg) was added to CPB priming fluid only in the ulinastatin treatment group. Activated partial thromboplasin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT), thrombin time (TT), fibrinogen and international normalized ratio (INR) were measured both before and at 1 hr, 6 hrs and 24 hrs after CPB.
RESULTSThe PT in the ulinastatin group was more prolonged than in the control group at 1 hr after CPB (18.7 ± 0.7 s vs 15.5 ± 0.5 s) and 6 hrs after CPB (17.5 ± 0.6 s vs 15.0 ± 0.6 s). The APTT in the ulinatatin group was also significantly more prolonged than in the control group at 6 hrs after CPB (38.7 ± 3.1 s vs 35.3 ± 3.1 s) and 24 hrs after CPB (34.2 ± 3.0 s vs 31.1 ± 2.6 s).
CONCLUSIONSUlinastatin may prolong PT and APTT after CPB, and thus affects coagulation in children.

Objective To observe the expression of silent information regulator 1(SIRT1)in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and its relationship with invasion and metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and its effect on survival and prognosis. Methods The clinical and pathological data of 104 patients with esophageal cancer who underwent radical esophagectomy at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January to December 2009 were retrospectively reviewed. Immunohistochemical method (EnVision method) was used to detect the expression of SIRT1 in cancer tissues and adjacent tissues. The clinicopathological features of different SIRT1 expressions were compared. The factors affecting the prognosis of the patients with esophageal cancer were analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of SIRT1 protein was significantly higher in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues than that in adjacent tissues(61.54% vs. 29.81%, χ2=21.100, P<0.05). The expression of SIRT1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was significantly correlated with vascular infiltration(VI),infiltration depth(pT),lymph node metastasis(pN)and clinical stage(pTNM)(P<0.05).Univariate survival analysis showed that the overall survival time(OS)was significantly lower in patients with SIRT1 positive expression than that of patients with negative expression(Log-rank χ2=10.065,P<0.05).SIRT1 positive expression, lymph node metastasis, deep tumor infiltration, late clinical stage and vascular infiltration showed poor prognosis(P<0.05). Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that SIRT1 positive expression, lymph node metastasis, depth of invasion and clinical stage were independent prognostic factors for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The prognosis of patients with deep tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, late clinical stage and high expression of SIRT1 was worse. Conclusion SIRT1 is highly expressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and which is closely related to the invasion and metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and has an effect on the prognosis of patients.

Objective To investigate the change of the basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) leve in human detrusor muscle(DM)in bladder outlet obstruction(BOO)due to benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and its implication. Methods Fifty-four patients with BPH were divided into two groups:the obstructive DM stability and instability groups;and 15 men with bladder tumor who underwent operation in the same period were enrolled in the control group. The bFGF mRNA level in DM was measured by reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and the bFGF protein level was measured by immunohistochemical staining method. Results The bFGF-mRNA expression level of bladder smooth muscle cells was significantly lower in the control group than that in the obstructive DM stability and instability groups(all P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the obstructive DM stability and instability groups(P>0.05). Conclusions The expression level of bFGF mRNA in bladder DM is elevated in BOO due to BPH,but there is little or no correlation between the increased expression of bFGF mRNA and detrusor muscle instability.
