Objective To establish the quality standard for Qingxin Anshen Soft Capsules. Methods Rhizoma Coptidis and Cortex Cinnamomi in Qingxin Anshen Soft Capsules were identified by TLC. Berberine hydrochloride and cinnamaldehyde were determined by HPLC. Results The characteristic identification by TLC was distinct and highly specific. The results of quantitative evaluation showed that berberine hydrochloride had the linear range of 0.6412 ?g～6.412 ?g(r=0.999 7,n=7),and the average recovery was 97.57 %(RSD=0.81,n=6);cinnamaldehyde had the linear range of 0.2148 ?g～2.148 ?g(r=0.999 8,n=7),and the average recovery was 97.70 %(RSD=0.88,n=6). Conclusion The method is reliable,accurate and specific. It can be used for the quality control of Qingxin Anshen Soft Capsules.

AIM:To establish the quality standard for Xianglian Zhixie Capsule(Radix Aucklandiae,Rhizoma Coptidis).METHODS:Radix Aucklandiae,Rhizoma Coptidis of Xianglian Zhixie Capsule were identified by TLC.Dehydro-costunolide,costunolide were determined by HPLC together.RESULTS:The characteristic identification by TLC was distinct and highly specific.The quantitative evaluation of dehydro-costunolide had the linear range of 0.217 4-2.174 ?g(r=0.999 9,n=6),the average recovery was 96.25%(RSD=1.37%,n=6).The quantitative evaluation of costunolide had the linear range of 0.199 2-1.992 ?g(r=0.999 3,n=6),the average recovery was 101.77%(RSD=1.23%,n=6).CONCLUSION:The method is reliable,accurate and specific.It can be used for quality control of Xianglian Zhixie Capsule.

Objective To study the chronology of development within puparia to determine the postmortem interval(PMI).Methods The necrophagous fly Lucilia cuprina was reared successively in constant temperatures(16℃,20℃,24℃,28℃,32℃).Sample,dissecte,and observe the pupal morphologic changes with the stereomicroscope.Results 7 morphological changes within the puparium can be used as age-markers and the pupal period of Lucilia cuprina can be divided into 9 developmental stages.The time required for each pupal stage was inversely proportional to the temperature.Conclusion Pupal developmental stages can be used as reference to the estimation of PMI.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a frequent syndrome in hospitalized patients .Recently, a number of studies have been reported that the close relationship exists between genetic polymorphism and AKI .The current research on genetic polymorphism related with AKI is reviewed in this article .

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the current situation and developing trend of the use of antipsychotics.METHODS:The data of antipsychotics in Analysis System of Drug-use in the Hospitals of the Yangtze River Valley,reported by Hangzhou,Shanghai,Nanjing,Wuhan,Chengdu and Chongqing during the period 1997～2001,were analysed by using DDD as index.RESULTS:The sum of money and frequency of use of the antipsychotics were increasing year by year;The first generation antipsychotics still occupied the marketing predominance;The use of the second generation antipsychotics assumed an increasing tendency year by year.CONCLUSION:The marketing of antipsychotics will further expand in China and the pharmaceutical factories should strengthen the development of new antipsychotics.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of malignant breast tumor.Methods 37 patients with malignant breast tumor were scanned by plain scans of MRI and contrast-enhanced MRI.MR findings including shape,border and signal intensity of lesions on plain scans,and the enhanced features after adiministration of Gd-DTPA were analysed and compared with the results of X-ray,B-ultrasound,surgery and pathalogy.Results The correct diagnostic rate of plain scans of MRI and contrast-enhanced MRI was 84.5% and 94.6% respectively.Conclusion MRI is effective medical imaging method in diagnosis of malignant breast tumors.

Incidence of cancer is increasing year by year,diagnostic techniques are continually advanced,and the numbers of anti-cancer drugs are growing,but the efficacy has not been fundamentally improved.Surgery,chemotherapy and radiotherapy can only kill the part of mature tumor cells,but can not kill the cancer stem cells,and eventually leading to tumor recurrence.While acupuncture,qigong,psychology comprehensive treatment can inhibit tumor growth and reduce metastasis and recurrence,improve quality of life and prolong survival.We should update our recognition,to carry out the study on the treatment of tumor by TCM with large sample and multiple centers,to demonstrate its low toxicity,low costs and efficiency.

Objective:To probe into the mechanism of the formation of neuroma and stump pai n,and the development of nerve fibres after the proximal ends of peripheral nerv e were bridged by pedicled skeletal muscle.Methods:Forty Wister white rats were randomly divided into experimental group an d control group.The left sciatic nerves of all the rats were transected at the s ame level,and the distal parts of nerves were cut off. The proximal end of the t ransected sciatic nerve in th experimental group was longitudinally divided into two parts,and the two ends were bridged by pedicled skeletal muscle.The proxima l ends of sciatic nerves were left in situ.The sciatic nerves were detected afte r 16 weeks.Results:In experimental group,the regenerated nerve fibres grew into skeletal mu scle bridge via anastomosis and distributed among the skeletal fascicle,and ther e was no formation of neuroma.Conclusion:The pedicled skeletal muscle bridging of the proximal ends of the amp utated peripheral nerves may prevent the formation of neuroma.

Objective:To explore the effect of nontypeable Haemophilus influenzaen(NTHi)strain ATCC49247on pri-mary rabbit tracheal epithelial(TE)cells.Methods:TE cells were isolated with low temperature protease digestion and cul-tured on collagen gel-coated membranes at an air-liquid interface in serum-free medium.Under these conditions,TE cells were proliferated and differentiated into a pseudostratified mucociliary epithelium,which were infected by NTHi.Morphologic changes of the cells were examined by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)after 24h.Results:SEM showed that bacteria adhered to non-ciliated cells;death or apoptosis occurred in90%of TE cells and cil-iaries were broken.TEM showed NTHi adhered to the cell surface on which there were many microvillus.Lamellipodia and microvilli surrounded bacteria within vacuoles of airway cells.Conclusion:NTHi can attach to non-ciliated cells,the latter de-vours the bacteria by lamellipodia and microvilli.NTHi is toxic to TE cells,resulting in the death or apoptosis of TE cells.
