The informatization of traditional Chinese medicine resources is the basis of modern medicine. With a spatial attribute traditional Chinese medicine resources could be carried out for in-depth spatial analysis, data mining and traditional Chinese medicine resources regional industrial layout. In this paper, we took the data of Glycyrrhiza uralensis in the third national Chinese medicine resources survey as the experimental data, described the principles and structure of traditional Chinese medicine resources spatial information database. We also described the establishment of analysis model with the help of this spatial database.

China Oncology 2006;0(09):-
Background and purpose:Nowadays, the golden standard of diagnosis for malignant hydrothorax or ascites is exfoliocytology examination, but the missed diagnosis rate is too high. Other methods including immunologic test, telomerase activation test, conjugation of chromosome analysis with cytological examination test, and RT-PCR test. But none of them was widely used due to high cost or high false positive rate. Immunomagnetic beads (IMB) technique is a popular method all over the world in recent years. It was mainly used in isolating and purifying cells, but it was rarely used to detect cancer cells in patients with hydrothorax or ascites so far. Our aim was to fi nd an effi cient way to detect the cancer cells in patients with cancer related hydrothorax or ascites and to improve the corresponding diagnosis rate. Methods:In the experiments, both the traditional exfoliocytology examination method and IMB technique were used to detect the cancer cells in the hydrothorax or the ascites for comparison. Results:Using IMB technique and exfoliocytology method, the positive rates in 30 patients with cancers were 63.3% (19/30) and 23.3% (7/30), respectively, and the false positive rates in 30 patients without cancers were 3.3% (1/30) and 0.0% (0/30), respectively. It could be observed that the positive rate using IMB technique was much higher than that using exfoliocytology method (P0.05). Conclusions:The present study demonstrated that IMB technique is an accurate, sensitive, fast and economic method in detecting the cancer cells in patients with cancer related hydrothorax or ascites, especially for diagnosis and therapy in the early clinical stage. Due to the high effi ciency, IMB technique could be used after exfoliocytology examination to improve the diagnosis rate..

Objective To investigate the incidence and the related factors of the depression in Parkinson's disease. Methods 52 cases with idiopathic Parkinson's disease were included in this study. Such scales as Hamilton depression scale-24 item (HAMD-24), Non Motor Symptoms Scale for Parkinson's disease (NMSS), 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39), unified Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS), revised Hoehn-Yahr rating scale (H-Y), revised Schwab and English daily life event scale (S-E), Minimum Mental State Examination (MMSE), etc. were applied and underwent Spearman correlation analysis. Results Thirty-six patients with Parkinson's disease (69.23%) met the criteria for depression. The spearman rank correlation analysis showed that MMSE (r=-0.294, P=0.036) and S-E (r=-0.506, P<0.001) had negative correlation with depression in Parkinson's disease, and the course of the disease (r=0.274, P=0.049), UPDRS (r=0.485, P<0.001), H-Y (r = 0.459, P = 0.001), NMSE (r = 0.729, P < 0.001) and PDQ-39 (r = 0.619, P < 0.001) had positive correlation with depression in Parkinson's disease. Conclusions The patients with Parkinson's disease had high incidence of depression. The depression in Parkinson's disease is associated with many factors and affected the quality of life of the patients.

Une new flavonoids named as notabilisin K (1), together with four known compounds, morusin (2), mulberrofuran A (3), neocyclomorusin (4) and mornigrol F (5) are separated from 95% ethanol extracts of the twigs of Morus notabilis. Compounds 2-5 are separated from this plant for the first time. Notabilisin I, notabilisin J exhibits certain effect against cells of HCT-116, HepG2 and A2780 with IC50 values ranging from 1.47 μmol x L(-1) to 5.46 μmol x L(-1). Morusin exhibits strong effect against five kinds of human cancer cells (BGC823, A2780, HCT-116, HepG2 and NCI-H1650) with IC50 values ranging from 0.74 μmol x L(-1) to 1.58 μmol x L(-1).

Objective To introduce the mini-open anterior correction under video assisted thoracosco- py for thoracic idiopathic scoliosis and report its clinical results. Methods From July 2001 to 2006,37 ca- ses of right thoracic idiopathic seoliosis were surgically corrected with mini-open anterior instrumentation. There were 4 males and 33 females with average age of 14.1 years and average Cobb angle of 56?.Fourteen cases with Lenke I A 14 cases,IB ++-++++ 14 cases,IC 9 cases. The Risser sign was ++-++++. The operative time, blood loss, instrumented levels, correction rate and loss of correction were analyzed. Results The operative time averaged 220 miu.The intraoperative blood loss averaged 320 ml.The average number of instrumented levels was 7.8.The postoperative Cobb angle was 16.8?on average with correction rate of 70%.With a follow-up of 18-36 months, the loss of correction averaged 4.6%,but no hardware complications. Conclusion The clinical results of mini-open anterior correction under thoracoscopy for tho- racic idiopathic scoliosis were satisfactory. It may minimize the complications of classical thoracotomic anterior correcion and mav reduce the high requirement for anesthesia, long operative time and high cost of thoraco- scopic anterior instrumentation.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2004;21(5):727-731
This study was designed to evaluate the effect of Bazhen decoction on bone marrow depression induced by cyclophosphamide (CY) in mice. An experimental model of mouse bone marrow injury was established through cyclophosphamide induced and the following phenomena were observed. The techniques of culture of hematopoietic progenitor cell and hematopoietic growth factor assay were used. Bazhen decoction could obviously promote the proliferation of bone marrow cells of anaemic mice. The culture media of spleen cell, macrophage, lung and skeletal muscle treated with Bazhen decoction had much stronger stimulating effects on hematopoietic cells. The bone marrow cells of the anaemic mice could yield TNF through Bazhen decoction treatment. It was suggested that Bazhen decoction is clinically a hopeful drug used to cure bone marrow depression and attenuate the side effects of CY.
