The effect of the complement C1q expression on total hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats was investigated. Sixty healthy male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats weighing 180-200 g were randomly divided into 5 groups: sham-operation group (S group, n=12); group of I/R for 1 h (I/R 1 h group, n=12); group of I/R for 3 h (I/R 3 h group, n=12); group of I/R for 6 h (I/R 6 h group, n=12); group of I/R for 24 h (I/R 24 h group, n=12). The hepatic I/R model of rats was established, and liver tissues were obtained 1 h, 3 h, 6 h and 24 h after hepatic I/R, respectively. Furthermore, the tissues were stained using hematoxylin-eosin, and the liver injuries of rats were observed using a microscope. The malondialdehyde (MDA) level and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in liver tissue were determined. Real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western blotting were used to detect the expression levels of C1q mRNA and protein, respectively. As compared with the S group, the histopathological changes in I/R 1 h-24 h groups were gradually aggravated with the extension of I/R time. As compared with the S group, SOD activity and MDA content in the I/R groups were reduced and increased respectively with the extension of I/R time (P<0.01). Furthermore, the C1q expression at mRNA and protein levels in the I/R groups (especially in the I/R 3 h group) was significantly higher than that in the S group (P<0.05). It is suggested that C1q expression may play a principal role in hepatic I/R injury, particularly at the early stage of perfusion.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of short-term application of atorvastatin combined with ezetimibe on efficacy and related indicators of patients with primary nephrotic syndrome with hyperlipidemia. METHODS:Data of 50 patients with prima-ry nephrotic syndrome with hyperlipidemia were retrospectively collected and divided into combination group and control group ac-cording different treatment,25 cases in each group. All patients received low-salt,low-fat ,high-quality protein, giving prednisone 1 mg/(kg·d),po,qd,combined with anticoagulation,diuretic,anti-infection,taking cytotoxic drugs if necessary. Based on it, control group received Atorvastatin calcium tablet 20 mg before going to bed,qd;combination group received Atorvastatin calcium tablet(the same dosage and usage with control group)+Ezetimibe tablet 10 mg,qd. They were treated for 2 weeks. Lipid-lowering efficacy and low-density lipoprotein(LDL-C),triglyceride(TG),cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein(HDL-C),24 h uri-nary protein (M-TP),serum albumin, alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen before and after treatment in 2 groups were observed and the incidence of adverse reaction was recorded. RE-SULTS:There was no significant differences in the total effective rate of Lipid-lowering in 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment, LDL-C,TC and HDL-C in 2 groups were significantly lower than before,Alb in combination group and ALT in 2 groups were sig-nificantly higher than before, with statistical significance(P<0.05),while there were no significant difference in 2 groups(P>0.05). And there was no significant difference in the TG,M-TP,AST,serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen before and after treatment(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Atorvastatin combined with ezetimibe can improve the blood lipid of patients with primary nephrotic syndrome with hyperlipidemia, while showing similar efficacy and safety with atorvastatin alone in a short term.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the hazards of aluminum dusts to the exposed workers and the clinical features of aluminosis.
METHODRetrospective investigation on 75 aluminosis patients from a certain factory diagnosed in Shanghai Occupational Diseases Hospital from 1972 to 2004 was carried out.
RESULTSThere were 27 cases of aluminosis I (36.0%), 28 cases of aluminosis II (37.3%) and 20 cases of aluminosis III (26.7%) among 75 cases. The shortest exposure duration was 3 years, and the longest 17 years, and 37 cases of aluminosis occurred after exposure less than 10 years. hest radiographic examination mainly showed irregular micro-shadows: t (22/75), s (4/75), t/u (1/75), t/s (2/75), or predominantly irregular mixed microshadows s/p (5/75), s/r (1/75), t/p (9/75), t/q (5/75); some showed round shape micro-shadows: p (6/75), q (1/75), p/q (3/75), q/p (1/75). 27 cases showed large shadows, 20 cases of them were diagnosed as pneumoconiosis III. A lot of irregular micro-shadows gathered and developed to form uneven, loose and border-irregular masses. Most massive fibrosis looked like stripe or plait, located mostly in middle and upper lung field. 8 patients suffered from aluminosis with single side of massive fibrosis and 12 with both sides of massive fibrosis, accounting for 40% and 60% respectively. Mediastinal and bronchopulmonary lymph nodes were enlarged and calcified, accompanied with pleural thickening.
CONCLUSIONSShort exposure to high concentration of black fused alumina may cause serious aluminosis to the exposes. The hazards of aluminum dusts should not be ignored.

Objective To survey the arsenic content of drinking water in Jingzhou City, to provide basis for prevention and control of endemic arsenic disease. Methods According to historical data, the .arsenic content of water was detected in 357 villages from 6 counties of Jianglin, Songzi, Gongan, Shishou, Jianli, Honghushi in Jinzhou City in 2007 and 2008, The past have been found to have high arsenic water villages, villages known to have high concentration of arsenic were put into census. Villages not found to have high-arsenic wells were sampled 10 percent of the whole water resources at five directions of east, west, south, north and the center. Using sampling investigation, water arsenic was determined by half -quantitative fast reagent kit. All samples of water with arsenic exceeding the standard were re-determined using silver diethyl dithiocarbamate using silver diethyl dithiocarbamate colorimetric mothod. Survey on the disease was carried out in the villages with arsenic exeeeding the standard. Results All 6074 water samples was inspected. Arsenic in 210 samples outnumbered 0.05 mg/L, 51 natural villages were high arsenic areas; The maximum level of arsenic content in drinking water was 0.7 mg/L 3.2% (152/4784) of the wells no deeper that 30 meters and 4.9%(58/1184) between 30 to 100 m had arsenic exceeding the standard The water arsenic content was normal when the wells was deeper that 100 m. The abnormal percentages of water arsenic was related with the depth of wells with a significant difference(χ2 = 12.29,P < 0.01). Medical examination 84 064 residents in 51 villages having high arsenic water 31 neighboring villages was made, No Patients was found suffering from endemic arsenic poisoning. Conclusions High arsenic source has been found in Jingzhou City ,but no endemic arsenic poisoning patient in Jingzhou City. It is suggested that necessary preventive measures should be taken in high arsenic area, low-arsenic water should be spotted or high arsenic water improved. Moreover, wells should be drilled for more than 100 meters or more in depth.

Chinese Journal of Burns 2018;34(9):615-623
Objective:
To observe the clinical effects of sequential treatments of pulsed dye laser (PDL) and ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser on early stage hypertrophic burn scars.
Methods:
From January 2016 to December 2017, 221 patients with 228 hypertrophic scars in all parts of body within 6 months post healing, conforming to the study criteria and treated in our department, were included in this prospective study. They were first treated by PDL, repeated at an interval of one month until the vascularity score of scar fell below 2 points, and then treated by ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser, repeated at an interval of 3 months. Their start time and numbers of treatment and follow-up time were recorded. Before the first treatment (hereinafter referred to as before treatment) and at the last follow-up (hereinafter referred to as after treatment), the vascularity, thickness, and pliability of scars were scored by a self-made scar rating scale. The scores of patients with the observation time between 6 to18 months post healing were compared among scars of patients grouped by age, body site of scar, starting time of treatment and numbers of treatment. The laser speckle contrast imaging technique was used to measure the blood flow value of scars. The itching symptom of the scars was evaluated by the Verbal Rating Scale. The satisfaction to the final effects of the doctors and patients was investigated and scored separately by Likert scale after treatment. The therapeutic or adverse reactions were recorded during the treatment. Data were processed with paired

To analyze the genetic characteristics of echovirus 6 (E6) isolated from meningitis and encephalitis cases in Shandong Province, China, we collected cerebrospinal fluid samples from meningitis and encephalitis cases in Shandong Province from 2007 to 2012 for virus isolation. Viral RNAs were extracted from positive isolates, and complete VP1 coding regions were amplified by RT-PCR and sequenced. Homology comparison and phylogenetic analysis were performed. Six isolates were identified as E6 by microneutralization assay and molecular typing. The homology analysis showed that the six isolates had 78. 6%-99. 8% nucleotide and 95. 5%-100. 0% amino acid identities with each other, as well as 76. 9%-78. 4% nucleotide and 92. 3%-95. 1% amino acid identities with the prototype strain (D' Amori). The phylogenetic analysis based on the integrated VP1 sequences indicated that all Shandong E6 isolates could be separated into four clusters, designated as A, B, C, and D. The six E6 isolates belonged to clusters A, B, and D. Our study reveals high genetic differences between Shandong E6 isolates and suggests different transmission lineages of E6 co-circulated in Shandong Province.

This study aimed to investigate antibody levels of the newer human enteroviruses (EV) A71, A90, and B87 in the population of Shandong Province, and provide a scientific basis for the development of prevention and control measures. In this study, serum specimens were collected from 400 individuals living in Yantai city, Shandong Province in 2010. EV-A71, A90, and B87 antibodies were detected using neutralization tests, and the results were analyzed by statistical methods. It was found that the positive neutralizing antibody rates of EV-A71, A90 and B87 in the population were 46.0%, 8.8%, and 47.0%, respectively. Their geometric mean titers (GMT) were 1 : 5.20, 1 : 1.49, and 1 : 4.02, respectively. Positive antibody rates for EV-A71 and EV-B87 were lowest in the 1-yr and 7-mo age groups, respectively. Positive rates increased gradually with age, and become consistent in the population aged >5 years. Positive antibody rates of EV-A90 were consistent across all age groups. Maternal antibody levels of EV-A71 declined rapidly after birth, and the increase in seroprevalence among 3-7 years old children implied that most EV-A71 infections occurred in preschool and early elementary school children. High positive antibody rates of EV-B87 in healthy individuals, especially children, implied that there may be an immune barrier within the general population. The population monitoring of EV-A90 should be strengthened, as its positive antibody rate is low.
