The diagnostic evidence on clinical diseases and theoretic basis of moving cupping therapy were ex- plored in the paper. By the observation of the local reaction, such as skin appearance and color, the affected location, duration of sickness and nature of disease were judged. Different moving cupping methods were selected for different disorders. It was discovered that the property of syndromes should be recognized by the palpation on skin and muscle in the moving cupping therapy so that the pathogenesis and treating principle could be carefully determined. The moving cupping therapy is the important component of body surface therapy. Skin reaction observation and syndrome differentiation is the essential guidance of the moving cupping therapy.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(9):1793-1797
Some unhealthy life habits, such as long-term smoking, heavy drinking, sexual overstrain and frequent stay-up could induce the Yin deficiency symptoms of zygomatic red and dysphoria. Stems of Dendrobii officinalis flos (DOF) showed the efficacy of nourishing Yin. In this study, the hyperthyroidism Yin deficiency model was set up to study the yin nourishing effect and action mechanism of DOF, in order to provide the pharmacological basis for developing DOF resources and decreasing resource wastes. ICR mice were divided into five groups: the normal control group, the model control group, the positive control group and DOF extract groups (6.4 g · kg(-1)). Except for the normal group, the other groups were administrated with thyroxine for 30 d to set up the hyperthyroidism yin deficiency model. At the same time, the other groups were administrated with the corresponding drugs for 30 d. After administration for 4 weeks, the signs (facial temperature, pain domain, heart rate and autonomic activity) in mice were measured, and the facial and ear micro-circulation blood flow were detected by laser Doppler technology. After the last administration, all mice were fasted for 12 hours, blood were collected from their orbits, and serum were separated to detect AST, ALT, TG and TP by the automatic biochemistry analyzer and test T3, T4 and TSH levels by ELISA. (1) Compared with the normal control group, the model control group showed significant increases in facial and ear micro-circulation blood flow, facial temperature and heart rate (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), serum AST, ALT (P < 0.01), T3 level (P < 0.05), TSH level (P < 0.05) and notable deceases in pain domain (P < 0.01), TG level (P < 0.01). (2) Compared with the model control group, extracts from DOF (6 g · kg(-1)) could notably reduce facial and ear micro-circulation blood flow, facial temperature and heart rate (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) and AST (P < 0.05) and enhance pain domain (P < 0.01) and TG (P < 0.01). Extracts from DOF (4 g · kg(-1)) could remarkably reduce AST and ALT levels (P < 0.01, 0.05). Extracts from DOF (6 g · kg(-1) 4 g · kg(-1)) could significantly reduce T3 and increase serum TSH level (P < 0.05). DOF could improve Yin deficiency symptoms of zygomatic red and dysphoria in mice as well as liver function injury caused by overactive thyroid axis. According to its action mechanism, DOF may show yin nourishing and hepatic protective effects by impacting thyroxin substance metabolism, improving micro-circulation and reducing heart rate.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2011;27(6):453-460
OBJECTIVETo explore the pathogenesis mechanism of hypertrophic scar (HS) and the effective means for its clinical treatment, the difference of the gene expressions between HS and normal skin was compared.
METHODSThe differentially expressed genes between HS and normal skin were obtained by mining PubMed. The dysregulated genes in HS were analyzed by a series of bioinformatics methods, including protein-protein interaction networks, pathways, Gene Ontology and functional annotation clustering analysis.
RESULTSA total of 55 dysregulated genes in HS was identified (46 up-regulated genes and 9 down-regulated genes). Fifty-one genes were found to encode proteins with interaction network, including up-regulated genes TGFB1, FN1, JUN, COL1A1, CTGF, VEGFA, FOS, COL3A1, IGF1, IL4, PELO, SMAD2, TIMP1, PCNA, and ITGA4 and down-regulated genes ITGB1 and DCN as the central nodes for this network. The dysregulated genes in HS involved in a variety of biological pathways, such as focal adhesion formation, integrin signal transduction, and tumor formation. Furthermore, the dysregulated genes in HS played the important roles in biological processes of cell surface receptor linked signal transduction, tissue development, cell proliferation and apoptosis, and macromolecule biosynthetic process, as well as in molecular function of calcium ion binding, double-stranded DNA binding, heparin binding, promoter binding and MAP kinase activity. The results of functional annotation clustering analysis revealed that the dysregulated genes in HS involved in epidermis development, angiogenesis, and apoptosis.
CONCLUSIONSuch key genes as TGFB1, FN1, and JUN, along with the pathways, biological processes and molecular functions involving epidermis development, angiogenesis, and extracellular matrix-integrin-focal adhesion signal transduction may play the important roles in the development of HS. The investigations of the dysregulated genes in HS could provide the new targets for clinical treatment.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2012;14(2):124-127
OBJECTIVETo study the epileptiform discharges and sleep structure in children with nocturnal epilepsy.
METHODSA total of 54 children with nocturnal epilepsy (NE group) between December 2009 and June 2011 were enrolled in this study using a cluster sampling method. Their epileptiform discharges and sleep structure were monitored using nocturnal 12 h-video-echoencephalography (EEG) and polysomnography. Meanwhile, 40 age- and gender-matched normal children were enrolled as the control group.
RESULTSAll the 54 children in the NE group suffered from epileptiform discharges and a varied number of clinical seizures, especially at S1 and S2 states. Compared with the control group, S1 and S2 states had significantly higher proportions in the NE group, and S3 and S4 states and REM state had significantly lower proportions (P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONSEpileptiform discharges and clinical seizures are more common in children with nocturnal epilepsy, especially during the non-rapid eye movement sleep. Meanwhile, remarkably disordered sleep structure also exists.
