5.Advances on Genetic Research of Ossification of the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament

[Summary] The ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament ( OPLL ) is caused by environmental , genetic and other factors.With the development of genomics research , researchers have found that mutations are important factors inducing OPLL . Despite the genomics research on OPLL has made important advances , no highly correlation has been found between OPLL and the exact single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) loci.The pathogenesis of OPLL needs further exploration .
6.Clinical Study on Puncturing Renying (ST 9) to Treat Poststroke Dysphagia

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of puncturing Renying (ST 9) in the treatment of poststroke dysphagia. Methods: Sixty cases of poststroke dysphagia were randomized into two groups, a control group in which 30 cases were given rehabilitation training, and a treatment group in which 30 cases were treated by puncturing Renying (ST 9) and rehabilitation training, with a course of four weeks. Results: The total effective rate for dysphagia was higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Puncturing Renying (ST 9) is quite effective for poststroke dysphagia.

10.Apoptosis of cervical cancer cell line Hela induced by Livin isoform-specific shRNA

Objective: To transfect a recombinant short hairpin RNA(shRNA)expression vector targeting Livin gene isoform(BIRC71,BIRC72)into the cervical cancer cell line(Hela cell),in an attempt to observe RNAi-mediated silen- cing on Livin gene and the induction of Hela apoptosis.Methods: Hela cells were transfected with the recombinant plas- mid pGenesil-1-BIRC71,pGenesil-1-BIRC72 and pGenesil-1-HK via Lipofectamine~(TM)2000.The expression levels of Livin was determined in Hela cells before and after transfection by fluorescence quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting. The apoptosis rate of cells was determined by FCM 24,48 and 72h after transfection.Results: The transfection efficiency at 48h was higher than those at 24 and 72h.After transfection with pGenesil-1-BIRC71 and pGenesil-1-BIRC72,gene and protein levels of Livin were significantly reduced(P
