4.The application of the new assistance chemotherapy in breast cancer
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2010;17(22):3072-3073
Objective To summarize the application of new assistance chemotherapy(NCT) in the surgeriable breast cancer,to study the security of NCT in the near future curative effects and the influence to surgery way. Methods The clinical date of 36 cases with Ⅰ~Ⅲ breast cancer were retrospectively analyzed. Results There are 8 examples of CCR, 19 examples of CPR,3 examples of PCR in the total cases. The total effective rate is 83.3%.There is no obvious side reaction. Conclusion As a result of the safety and effectiveness, NCT is an important way for treating breast neoplasms.
5.CT diagnosis of acute appendicitis
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2009;16(5):837-838
Objective To investigate the value of CT in diagnosis of acuteppendicitis. Methods Acute appendicitis was confirmed by pathology in 30 cases after the operation. CT features of 30 acute appendicitis were analyzed and compared with the surgery and pathological results retrospectively. Results Among of 30 acute appendicitis,20 cases were simple appendicitis,6 cases were acute suppurative appendicitis and 4 cases were appendiceal abscess. 20 cases simple appendicitis showed the appendix enlarged in diameter, with wall thickening in CT imaging. 6 cases acute suppurative appendicitis showed the appendix enlarged in diameter, with wall thickening and periappendiceal inflammation in CT imaging. 4 cases appendiceal abscess showed inflammatory tumors with asymmetrical attenuation in ileocecal region and complicating fluid collection in right iliac fossa and cavity of pelvis in CT imaging. In 4 cases appendiceal abscess,2 cases complicated small intestine obstruction. 7 cases appendiceal fecalith were found in 30 acute appendicitis. Conclusion CT scanning can illustrate feature of acute appendicitis and make correct diagnosis, and can provide important information for clinician.
7.Clinical observation of omeprazole in treating chronic superficial gastritis
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2010;17(23):3220-3221
Objective To observe the therapeutical effect of omeprazole in treating patients with chronic superticial gastritis. Methods160 patients with chronic superficial gastritis were divided into treatment group(80 cases)and control group(80 cases)randomly.Patients of treatment group were treated with omeprazole, patients of control group were treated with famotidine. The symptoms and healing state of gastritis were observed at 1,2,4 weeks after treatment. ResultsThe curative effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group. ConclusionThe application of omeprazole had a good clinical therapeutical effect on chronic superficial gastritis.
8.Carry out epigenetic research in endocrine and metabolic diseases and adrenal tumors
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2010;26(8):629-632
This editorial introduces the definition and development of epigenetics, and its theory in the pathogenesis of many diseases, including endocrine and metabolic diseases. The difference between genetics and epigenetics in explaining neoplastic pathogenesis is compared in detail with illustration. It emphasizes the importance of environmental factors as well as the interaction of genetical and environmental factors in causing the diseases. The article calls for more epigenetic research in endocrine neoplasm, especially in pheochromocytoma and neuroblastoma.
9.Advance for Diaphanous-related forming
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(5):327-329
Forming are regulator of actin cytoskeleton. They are characterized with two formin homology domains. Diaphanous-related formin (DRF) is isolated as a subfamily because they have two specific domains such as CBD(GTPase binding domain) and DAD(Diaphanous-autoregulatory domain). DRF is required for a growing number of biological progresses, such as cell adhesion and motility, cytokinesis, morphogenesis, cell polarity and the transcriptional activation of serum response factor. They are closely invovled in cell signal transduction of Rho/Rock, so they play an important role in actin cytoskeleton rearrangements and the process of neoplasm invasion and matastasis. DRF should be studied further, for it will be helpful for deep revealing the mechanism of neoplasm invasion and matastasis, and may be an important basis of potential targets for clinic practice.
10.Application and analysis of mixed scientific methods in life experience of older persons with depression in Macau
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2010;26(7):54-57
Objective To analyze and discuss the appropriate use of mixed methods using both qualitative and quantitative approaches to research older persons with depression in Macau in combination with Chinese characteristic of Macau. Methods A mixed methods research design, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, was employed to interpret the lived experiences of these older persons.Using a purposive sampling approach, the final study involved 31 older persons with depression.A range of standardized, validated scales including the MSQ,GDS-15,BI,Lawton IADL,LSNS,SF- 36QOL were adopted. Results These lived experiences clustered into four broad dominant categories: negative thinking, physical limitations and complaints, poor living conditions and social support, and the tragic experience.Negative emotion included useless, hopeless, pessimistic and helpless.Physical limitations included poor activity, dependence, arthralgia, insomnia, poor appetite and memory, too many medicine.Poor living conditions and social support included poverty, illiterate, unfair, etc.Tragic experience included strenuous labor, passing away of father, failure of marriage, etc. Conclusions Mixed methods can be successfully used in discussing life experience of older persons with depression, combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches can explain this research phenomenon more comprehensively and deeply.
