Objective To establish the prediction model for ischemic stroke recurrence. Methods Consecutive patients with ischemic stroke from January 1st, 2008 to December 31st, 2009 were followed up until June 30th, 2010. The rate of recurrence were described with Kaplan-Meier curve, and the factors associated with recurrence were analyzed with monovariant and multivariate Cox's proportional hazard regression. Results There were 79 cases relapsed during the follow-up. The independent risk factors associated with recurrence were age(X),history of hypertension (X2), family stroke history (X3), total cholesterol (X4), disease progression (X5), total scores of Essen stroke risk score (X6). The personal prognosis index (PI) for predicting recurrence was as: PI=0.025X1+0.681X2+0.973X3+0.395X4+0.636X5+0.283X6. As the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve showed, when the cut-off point of PI was 2.289, the sensitivity of the model was 0.731 and specificity was 0.795. Conclusion The model for predicting recurrence of ischemic stroke was established.

Objective To analyze the growth phenotype and blood biochemical parameters of chromosome 1 substi-tution mouse strain(CSS1), and investigate their potential of QTL mapping .Methods Body weight, body length, tail length, organ weight of the CCS1 mice were measured at different days to create a growth curve while blood biochemical in -dexes were measured at about the 80th day. Results The CCS1 mice were different from C57BL/6 mice in several inde-xes.Compared with the C57BL/6 mice during different developmental stages , six strains including B6-Chr1KM mice were significantly different in body weight .There were five strains including B6-Chr1CM mice significantly different with C57BL/6 mice in body length, and all of the CSS1 mice were significantly different from C57BL/6 mice in tail length.Part of CCS1 mice were significantly different from C57BL/6 mice in the weight of liver, spleen, kidney and brain. The ALT of female B6-Chr1CM mice was significantly higher than that in the C 57BL/6 mice. The ALP of female B6-Chr1HZ mice was signifi-cantly higher than that in the male C57BL/6 and B6-Chr1KM mice, and was significantly lower than that in the C57BL/6 mice. The TB of male B6-Chr1CM, B6-Chr1SMX and B6-Chr1HZ mice was significantly higher than that of the C 57BL/6 mice. The TG of male B6-Chr1SMX mice and male B6-Chr1TW mice was significantly higher than that in the C 57BL/6 mice. Conclusions The phenotype of Chr1 CSS mice is quite different from commonly used inbred strain C 57BL/6 mice.CCS1 mice show great potential in QTL mapping for their characteristic growth phenotype and blood biochemical indexes .

Objective To investigate the association between the HLA-DRB1 gene polymorphisms and susceptibility of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in North China. Methods A 1∶1 matched case-control study was adopted. Polymerase chain reaction-sequence-specific primers techniques (PCR-SSP) and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) was used to type polymorphisms (DR15, DR16, DR1, DR11). Information on environmental-related risk factors and pathological changes of tuberculosis was collected using a pre-tested standard questionnaire. Variance analysis, Chi-square, univariate and multivariate conditional Logistic analysis were conducted with SPSS 12.0 for Window. Results A sample of 124 pairs of cases and controls was studied. Univariate analysis demonstrated that DR15 mutant increased the risk of susceptibility of pulmonary tuberculosis (OR=2.461, 95%CI: 1.363~4.444, P=0.002),and it would further increased if DR16 mutant occurred together (OR=4.904, 95%CI: 1.554~15.476). In multivariate analysis, DR15 mutant also associated with susceptibility of pulmonary tuberculosis (OR=2.996, 95%CI: 1.51~5.945). Conclusion Polymorphism of DR15 genotype might be a susceptible genotype of TB patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in North China.

This article is based on the core pathogenesis of yin-yang poisoning recorded in the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber and clarifies the characteristics of"yin poisoning"and"yang poisoning"as considered during the Han and Tang dynasties. It is found that the classification criteria for the two are based on the manifestation of syndromes rather than the cold and heat of the pathogenesis.By analyzing the syndrome of yin-yang poisoning in the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber and combining the records with people's understanding of the efficacy of various medicinals in Shengma Biejia Decoction during the Han and Tang dynasties,it is demonstrated that the core pathogenesis is stagnation, mainly reflected in three aspects:accumulation of toxins, stagnation of qi and blood, and stagnation of yang qi.Among these, the degree and location of stagnation of yang qi are the reasons for the difference between yin poisoning and yang poisoning. The disease of yang poisoning is characterized by sufficient yang qi in the body, obstruction of pathogenic factors on the surface, and intense competition between vital qi and evil qi.Therefore, yang stagnation on the surface is more severe and leads to heat symptoms. The disease of yin poisoning is characterized by deficient yang qi in the body,an inability to resist pathogen, and the deepening of evil qi.The yang qi is suppressed by depression and is relatively mild, making it unable to circulate and warm the body, resulting in cold symptoms. Therefore, when treating yang poisoning,ZHANG Zhongjing used medicinals that were pungent, warm and dispersed to relieve the yang depression on the surface. If the yang depression was dispersed, the heat would naturally dissipate. When treating yin poisoning, only internal medicine is used to relieve internal yang qi stagnation, and when yang qi is extended, cold will naturally disappear. In summary,we aimed to enhance our understanding of the efficacy of Shengma Biejia Decoction from the perspectives of promoting the dispersion of toxins, promoting blood circulation, and promoting yang stagnation,in order to provide new ideas for the clinical use of this formula and expand its application scope.
