Objective:To study the osseointegration after implantation of dental mini-screw under unloaded condition by histomorphometric observations.Methods:30 titanium mini-screws were used. 3 titanium implant miniscrews were implanted into each tibia of 10 New Zeland White rabbits at a distance of 10 mm between 2 mini-screws. 2 animals were sacrificed immediately,1,2,4 and 8 weeks after operation respectively.Samples of the screws with surrounding bone tissue were examined by HE staining. Results:Progressive changes were observed in the implant-bone interface.1 and 2 weeks after operation collagen fibers, locally absorbed areas and cancellous bones with loose connective tissues were found.4 weeks after operation compact cortical bone was observed.8 weeks after operatoin lamellar bone and second remodeling were found. Conclusion:Osseointegration between implanted mini-screw and bone tissue may complete in 8 weeks in rabbit tibia.

Objective To clarify the effect of myofunctional treatment on primary and mixed dentition malocclusion. Methods Twenty-seven children were selected,3 were in primary dentition among which 2 showed deep overbite.24 were in mixed dentition and presented crowding in anterior area among which 4 children combined with anterior crossbite,2 showed deep overbite and deep overjet. All the patients were treated with myofunctional trainer such as INFANT,T4K or I2N appliances according to their age and malocclusion type. The patients were instructed to wear the trainers for at least one hour a day keeping their lips together or overnight while sleeping.Muscle exercises were done when wearing the trainer during daytime. Results After 6-10 months,24 patients who were in good compliance had their teeth aligned, deep overjet and deep overbite corrected, and facial profile improved. Conclusions Myofunctional treatment is effective on primary and mixed dentition malocclusion. It is important to have patients' good compliance.

Objective To study the dose-and time-effect relationship between lipopolysaccharide(LPS) and CD14 expression in the cell line J774A.1 of mouse macrophages. Methods The cell line J774A.1 was stimulated with different doses of LPS,and the CD14 surface-positive cells from the cell line J774A.1 were detected by flow cytometry(FCM)45 min after stained with FITC-CD14 monoclonal antibody. The changes of CD14 surface expression in the cell line J774A.1 at different time(1,2,4,8 and 16 h)after stimulated with LPS were observed. After the best stimulant time was selected, the cell line J774A.1 was treated with different doses(1,10,50,100,500 and 1 000 ?g?L~(-1))of LPS and the changes of CD14 surface expression were observed.(Results In view) of time-effect,compared with control group(the positive rate was 12.50?3.71),LPS significantly enhanced the CD14 expression at 1,2 and 4 h after stimulation(the positive rates were 23.80?5.07,(23.04?)2.88 and 28.22?1.54,respectively) when the dose of LPS was 1 ?g?L~(-1)(P

Objective To observe the curative effect of auricular point sticking on menstrual distending pains of breasts. Methods Sixty-two patients with hyperplasia of mammary glands were randomized evenly into experiment group and control group:the former were managed with auricular point sticking and the latter with oral administration of Xiaoyao Pills for three treatment courses, each menstrual cycle as a course. The two groups were compared in terms of menstrual distending pains of breasts. Results The experiment group was significantly better than the control group in terms relieves of pains as well as the curative effect after the trial (P<0.01 for both). Conclusions Auricular point sticking is effective in relieving the menstrual distending pains of breasts. It is simple for manipulation and thus worth clinical spreading.

Objective To investigate the effect of clinical application of ERA resilient attachment on Kennedy Ⅰ dentition defect. Methods Twenty-eight Kennedy Ⅰ dentition defect cases were restored by ERA resilient attachment dentures. After the examination of the function of the dentures, oral tissue, X-ray, the satisfaction to the dentures was evaluated. Results After the follow-up of 6 to 32 months, all the patients were satisfied with the dentures in esthetic, retention, normal function and healthy peri-odontium. Conclusion ERA resilient attachment is an esthetieal, economical and reliable approach to Kennedy Ⅰ dentition defect restoration.

Objective To determine the genetic background and evolutional route of macrolideresistance Streptococcus pneumoniae(MRSP)strains in Shanghai. Methods Forty-seven MRSP clinical isolates were genotyped by pulse field gel electrophoresis(PFGE)to detect the donal relationship of therm.Serotyping and muhilocus sequence typing(MIST)on 6 multi-resistant strains wag used to investigate the evolutional relationship between serum types and international epidemic strain among MRSP strains in Shanghai. Results There were 2 epidemical clones(type A 45%,type B 17%)in MRSP clinical isolates containing both the ermB and the mefE genes in Shanghai.MIST analysis showed that all 6 multi-resistant strains whose PFGE pattern was A type belonging to Asia clonal complex-CC236(Taiwan19F-14 clone). There was a novel ST-ST2116,which might derived from CC236 due to the recombination with alldic change. Conclusion,The high prevalence of erythromycin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae containing both the ermB and the mere genes in Shanghai is partly due to the clonal spread of a few mtdtidrng-resistant clones.

Objective To investigate the production of carbapenemase and 16S rRNA methylase in five isolates of pan-drugs resistant E.cloacae recovered in Ruijin hospital. Methods MICs of the five isolates to 10 antibiotics were determined by E test.Six kinds of 16S rRNA methylase genes and a series of β- lactamase genes were amplified by PCR.Shotgun cloning was performed to detect carbapenem resistance determinant. The conjugal transfer of carbapenemase gene and 16S rRNA methylase gene was performed in broth culture with E.coli J53 as the recipient.Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was carried out to analyse the genotyping.IEF was performed to detect β-1actamases.Southern blot was performed to determine the location of carbapenem resistance determinant. Results The MICs of 10 antibiotics were >32 mg/L.Four β-1actamases with pIs of 5.4 ( TEM-1 ),6.7 ( KPC-2 ),8.2 ( SHV-12 ),8.4 (CTX-M-14) were determined. The insertion sequence in the recombinant plasmid was blaKPC-2 flanked by a transposon.blaKPC-2 was located on a large non-conjugative plasmid whereas armA was located on an other conjugative plasmid.PFGE patterns of 5 isolates were identical. Conclusion KPC-2 was responsible for carbapenem resistance in pandrugs resistant Enterobacter cloacae. There was no relationship between blaKPC-2 and armA.Although pandrug resistant Enterobacteriaceae remain rare, the emergence of this group of organism merits monitoring.
