International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2021;43(6):613-617
Hegu needling is mainly used for the treatment of orthopedic and neurologic diseases, such as cervical spondylosis, third lumbar transverse process syndrome, myofasciitis, periarthritis of shoulder, and stroke sequela, which has a rapid and benefial effect in relieving pain and improving symptoms and signs. It is often combined with other treatment methods, such as point-point needling, electric needling, QI needling, SHU needling, bloodletting, stagnant needling, warm needling, ginger partitioned moxibustion, Qistimulated massage, Tuina, bonesetting and xercise therapy. Filiform needle or round sharp needle are mostly used in Hegu needling. At present, the acupoints of Hegu needling are mostly Ashi points or stimulation points, but the acupoints of the fourteen meridians are rarely selected. Hegu needling is rarely used in the treatment of gynecological and pediatric diseases. Hegu needling has certain effect on dementia, vertigo, panic attack, trigeminal neuralgia, facial paralysis, and cancer pain, but few clinical studies confirmedit.

Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(10):725-728
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) not only exhibit a marked tropism for tumors, but also exert antitumorigenic activity or as an emerging vectors to express foreign genes continuously and efficiently within the tumor microenvironment, suppress tumor's growth and metastasis.Conversely,MSCs can accelerate tumor development through promoting tumor stroma remodeling and tumor vascular formation, inhibiting tumor local immune and changing tumor phenotype. The reason for this discrepancy may be attributable to different sources of MSCs,the heterogeneity of MSCs,differences in tumor microenviroment,or another factor that is not yet appreciated.

Objective To investigate the expression of osteopontin ( OPN) in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue and its prognostic value. Methods The immunohistochemistry method was used to detect the expression of OPN in 64 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer tissue, and 20 cases with ovarian benign tumors and 10 normal ovarian tissues as well. The relationship between the OPN expression and clinical pathological characteristics and its prognostic value were analyzed statistically. Results The positive expression of OPN case was confirmed in 52 cases in 64 epithelial ovarian cancer. The expression level of OPN in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in benign ovarian tumor and normal control (P <0. 01). The OPN expression in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues was associated with the pathological grading, lymphatic metastasis and production of ascites. The survival time is longer in OPN negative patients than the positive group. Conclusions OPN plays an important role in the tumorgenesis and development of epithelial ovarian cancer and correlates with its prognosis.

Objective To identify susceptible miRNAs for the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy (DN) and the molecular targets of losartan treatment. Methods The 8-week age KKAy mice were divided into losartan treatment group (10 mg· kg-1· d-1) and non-treatment group,C57BL/6 mice were used as the control group. At age of 20 weeks, body weight, random blood glucose, urinary albumin and urinary creatinine were tested, and kidney morphology was observed.Glomeroli were separated by magnetic beads perfusion, and total RNA were extracted.MiRNAs expression profiles were analyzed by the Affymetrix GeneChip miRNAs arrays. Results At age of 20 weeks,KKAy mice developed higher body weight, higher blood glucose and higher urinary microalbumin creatinine ratio than C57BL/6 mice, and the glomerular basement membrane thickened, mesangial matrix widened.Losartan treatment markedly improved the level of urinary albumin creatinine ratio [(539.71±100.23) mg/g vs (728±177.19) mg/g,P<0.05)] and pathological lesion of KKAy mice. The miRNA array analysis showed that there were 22 miRNAs differentially expressed between KKAy non-treatment mice and C57BL/6 mice glomeruli at age of 20 weeks.Among them,10 miRNAs were up-regulated,and 12 miRNAs were down-regulated.The expression of 4 miRNAs was down-regulated in glumeruli of KKAy mice treated by losartan compared with that of non-treatment mice. The expressions of miRNA-503 and miRNA-181d were significantly up-regulated in the glumeruli of KKAy mice and inhibited by losartan treatment, Conclusion The expressions of miRNA-503 and miRNA-181d are significantly up-regulated in the glumeruli of KKAy mice and inhibited by losartan treatment, which may be new therapeutic targets of DN.
