1.Effects of vasopressin on shuttle-box passive avoidance behavior in rats

Arginine-8-vasopressin (AVP) could promote the acquisition of shuttle-box passive avoidance behavior and delay the extinction of the behavior when injected into the hippocampus of rats.Intrahippocampal injection of 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) prevented AVP from enhancing memory.The authors had also observed that AVP could accelerate the degradation of cate-cholamine in the hippocampus when the contents of monoamine transmitters and their metabolites were analyzed with high-performance liquid chromatography and electrochemical detection. These facts suggest that vasopressin promotes the shuttle-box passive avoidance behavior in rats,strcnthens long-term memory as well as short-term memory,and exerts its effect on memory through its enhancing the degradation of norepinephrine and/or dopamine in the hippocampus.
2.Layered target for evaluating axial resolution of very-high-frequency B-type ultrasonoscope

A novel layered target is designed to evaluating the axial resolution of very -high -frequency B -type ultrasonoscope. Compared with the conventional target made of tungsten wire, the target proves to be accurate, reliable and easy to make and to use, and thus it is a potential gauge or a test tool.
3.On Geographic Mark Protection of Genuine Chinese Crude Drugs with "Zhe-ba-wei" as Example

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the geographic mark protection of genuine Chinese crude drugs so as to promote its intellectual property protection. METHODS: Zhe-Ba-Wei was taken as an example to reveal the crisis of the development of Genuine Chinese Crude Drugs; the protection means between trade mark and Geographic Mark was compared, and some special problems arose in Geographic Mark Protection of Genuine Chinese Crude Drugs were discussed. RESULTS & CONCLUSION: Geographic mark protection is an effective legal means. However, a series of problems, such as confirmation of best habitat, establishment of Chinese crude drugs standard, and confliction between geographic name and geographic mark etc remained to be tackled.
4.Comparison between CT and MRI in diagnosis of spinal trauma

Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of CT and MRI in spinal trauma.Methods 41 cases of spinal trauma in patients with spinal CT scan and MRI image data were retrospectively analyzed and compared.Results MRI examination revealed 41 cases of spinal fractures,CT showed 38 cases of fracture; MRI examination revealed 10 cases of bone contusion,CT scan found 1 case of bone contusion;MRI examination revealed 15 cases of anterior longitudinal ligament injury,12 cases occurred posterior longitudinal ligament injury,CT scan found that the anterior longitudinal ligament and posterior longitudinal ligament injury of 2 cases of MRI detection rate was significantly higher than CT(P < 0.05).120 bone chips CT findings,MRI examination revealed 83 cases of bone chips,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion CT and MRI of spinal trauma are two commonlyways of imaging examination.There are advantages and disadvantages of CT examination of the bone chips shift and so can be clearly shown MRI for ligament injury.Bone contusion can be clearly demonstrated for the general compression fractures in MRI examination.Commimcted fracture should be added to do a CT scan.
5.Investigation of Sanitary Status of Waterworks for Centralized Water Supply in Anhui Province

Objective To know the sanitary status of waterworks for centralized water supply in Anhui province,and try to enhance the implementation Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB 5749-2006).Methods From April to November in 2008,the hygienic status and water quality self-test capacity of the waterworks at city,county,enterprise and town levels were investigated.Results As for the source water,over 70% of waterworks were up to the Grade Ⅲ standard.In the hygienic management and water treatment process,the city level water workswere better.The rates of complete water treatment were 80.63%,73.78%,58.12% and 60.46%,respectively for different level water works.The rates of the water quality test equipments fulfilled were 77.77%,42.99%,38.18% and 13.77% respectively.For water quality test,the 119 waterworks only focused on the aesthetic,general chemical and microbiological indexes.The performance rates of toxicological indicators,disinfectants indicators,radioactive indicators and other indicators were 17.65%,26.68%,15.97% and 3.49%,respectively.Conclusion Hygienic management of waterworks of levels for centralized water supply in Anhui province needs to be strengthened,and the water treatment process needs to be improved,the capacity building for self-test of water quality in the waterworks needs to be enhanced.
6.Study on killing efficacy of yeast cytosine deaminase /5 - fluorocytosine gene therapy system on K562B cell line

Objective:To clone the yeast cytosine deaminase(YCD) gene and to elucidate the killing efficacy of yeast cytosine deaminase / 5 - fluorocytosine gene therapy system on gene- transfered cells. Methods:YCD gene was cloned and YCD expression retroviral vector was constructed,the vector was transfered into packaging cell line and high- titer virus was abtained. Then the tum origenic leukemia cell line K5 6 2 B was infected,selected and evaluated. Finally,the killing efficacy of 5 - FC on gene- transfered cell clone observed,and the 5 - FC to 5 - FU conversion of YCD- K5 6 2 B cell lysate was estim ated. Results:YCD gene was cloned and the sequence was confirm ed. A YCD expression retroviral vector,MSCV- YCD- IRES- EGFP was constructed. Transfering it into packaging cell line? NX- A ,high- titer (3.5? 10 6 CFU / ml) virus was obtained. The virus were used to infect tumorigenic leukem ia cell line,K5 6 2 B,and the infecting rate was quite high (30 % ) . A gene- transfered cell clone,YCD- K5 6 2 B,was selected,and YCD gene m RNA expression was detected in it.YCD- K5 6 2 B cell lysate demonstrated CD enzyme activity,and it could deaminase 5 - FC to 5 - FU .MTT assay showed 5 - FC could kill YCD- K5 6 2 B cell in 96 h even at lower concentration(15?mol/ L ) . Conclusion:YCD/ 5 - FC suicide gene therapy system has a significantkilling efficacy on gene- transfered cells. [
7.Establishment of a hemorrhagic retinal detachment model in rabbits

Objective To establish a hemorrhagic retinal detachment (HRD) model for the study of the damage and treatment of HRD. Methods Fourteen rabbits (28 eyes) were divided into the HRD (12 eyes) and control (16 eyes) group randomly. Autologous anticoagulated blood (0.2 ml) was transvitreally injected into the rabbits′ subretinal space with a special glass micropipette in HRD group (12 eyes); while 0.2 ml saline with or without heparin sodium (2.5 U/ml) was respectively injected into subretinal space respectively of the rabbits in heparin saline control group (6 eyes) and saline control group (3 eyes); furthermore, another 2 control groups, i.e.,pseudo injection group (3 eyes, single retinal puncturing without subretinal injection) and normal group (4 eyes of 2 normal rabbits) were also set. The conditions of the occurrence and representation of the retinal detachment (RD) were observed and analysed by means of ophthalmoscopy, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and ultrasound A and (or) B scan examinations in the subsequent 28 days after the operation. Results After the operation, HRD occurred in all eyes of the rabbits in HRD group. The area of HRD extended from 10 to 12 disc diameter(DD). The obvious elevation of RD maintained to 14 days, and the residual subretinal hemorrhage was still observed till 28 days. The obvious RD of the rabbits in heparin saline and saline control group was only kept for no more than 12 hours. The retinal puncture hole in pseudo injection group disappeared 2 days after the operation, and there was no change in retina of rabbits in normal control group. Conclusion It is convenient, practical and effective to establish a HRD model by means of transvitreal subretinal injection of autologous anticoagulated blood.
8.Delayed Protection of Ischemic Preconditioning against Myocardial Ischemia-reperfusion Injury in Rabbits

Objective To explore the delayed protection of ischemic preconditioning against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rabbits. Methods Twenty four healthy rabbits were randomly into sham, ischemia-reperfusion(I/R) and ischemic preconditioning(IP) groups, each group containing 8 rabbits. After 24h IP, rabbits in IP group received 60 min coronary artery occlusion followed by 120 min reperfusion. Myocardial morphological changes were observed by optics microscope and electron microscope, infarction size and the area at risk were determined by triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) and Evan's blue dye, and concentrations of adenosine and calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP) in serum were assayed. Results There were a few of cardial fibers ruptured, focus hemorrhage and a mass of inflammatory cell infiltration, and the concentrations of adenosine and CGRP in serum also decreased in rabbits of I/R group. Above changes were improved in rabbits of IP group, and infarction size and the area at risk markedly reduced compared with sham group and I/R group(P

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)is a disease of unknown etiology that leads to a progressive increase in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR),if untreated,ultimately right heart failure and high mortality.It is concerted pulmonary vascular contraction and vascular remodeling are the 2 main courses of physiology and pathology leading to PAH,especially the significant role of proliferation of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells.A lot of relevant factors are revealed to take a participation into regulating the proliferation of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells and finally PAH.
