Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(3):454-457
Objective To observe the clinical effects of the combination of resuscitation-inducing acupuncture therapy and Naoluotong Recipe ( NR) for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods By using simple random method, 70 qualified patients were evenly divided into combination group and control group. Both groups were given conventional western medicine treatment and Xiangdan Injection, and additionally, the combination group was given resuscitation-inducing acupuncture therapy and oral use of NR decoction. After treatment, the two groups were evaluated by the United States National Institute of Health Stroke Scale ( NIHSS) scoring and Barthel index ( BI) for independent living ability. Results ( 1) The total effective rate showed by NIHSS scoring was 93. 3% in the combination group and was 72.4% in the control group (P<0.01). ( 2) The results of BI evaluation showed that the disability rate was 43.33% in the combination group and was 75.86%in the control group (P<0.01). (3) After treatment, NIHSS scores in both groups were decreased while BI scores were increased (P<0.05 compared with those before treatment), and the improvement of the scores in the combination group was superior to that of the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of resuscitation-inducing acupuncture therapy and oral use of NR decoction can significantly improve neural function and reduce disability rate of patients with acute cerebral infarction, and the curative effect is superior to western medicine alone for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction.

Objective To explore more safe and effective method for the treatment of common bile duct stones combined with cavernous transformation of the portal vein (CTPV).Methods We report 2 cases of post-treated patients in this series. In order to avoid severe bleeding caused by dissection of bile duct,we applied different methods to remove common bile duct stones compared with traditional operation. We removed common bile duct stones in one patient through cystic duct approach during operation. Two years later,we performed endoscopic duodenal incision (endoscopic sphincterotomy,EST) for him because of lower common bile duct stenosis with sand like stone.Another patient,on the other hand,we conducted the duodenal papilla incision during operation and removed common bile duct stones with choledochoscope through the bottom of common bile duct.Result Of the two patients, all of the three kinds of operation had good curative effects. Conclusions For the patients with common bile duct stones combined with CTPV,we should select appropriate treatments to avoid dissection of bile duct in front of the dilated and tortuous collateral veins during the operation, which is the key to guarantee the safety and success of the operation.EST is the preferred method of the treatment.Open operation with choledochoscopy via cystic duct approach or duodenal papilla incision through distal common bile duct to perform stone extraction also appears to be effective and safe.

Objective To study the relationship of fatty acid binding protein-2(FABP2)and apolipoprotein E(ApoE)with coronary heart disease(CHD)in type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients.Methods FABP2 and ApoE gene polymorphisms were detected by PCR-RFLP.At the same time all CHD in T2DM patients' serum triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were(HDLC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDLC)were detected. Results The T-allele frequencies of FABP2 were higher(P

Prion diseases are infectious and fatal neurodegenerative diseases. The pathogenic agent is an abnormal prion protein aggregate. Microglial activation in the centre nervous system is a characteristic feature of prion disease. In this study, we examined the effect of PrP 106-126 on PrP mRNA gene expression in Mouse microglia cells BV-2 by real-time quantitative PCR. PrP mRNA expression level was found to be significantly increased after 18 h exposure of BV-2 cells to PrP 106-126, with 3-fold increase after 18 h and 4.5-fold increase after 24 h and BV-2 cells proliferating occurred correspondingly. Our results provide the first in vitro evidence of the increase of PrP mRNA levels in microglial cells exposed to PrP 106-126, and indicate that microglial cells might play a critical role in prion pathogenesis.

Purpose To investigate clinicopathological features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of non-sebaceous lymphadenoma of the parotid gland. Methods The histopathological morphology, immunohistochemical profiles and clinicopathological features were an-alyzed in two cases of NSL, along with review the related literatures. Results Two patients were female adults. Microscopically, The tumor was a well-circumscribed mass surrounded by a fibrous capsule of variable thickness and comprised a mixture of proliferating epi-thelium accompanied by a prominent lymphoid component, reactive lymphoid follicles were found in lymphoid stroma. The epithelial component took the form of anastomosing trabeculae, glands, solid basaloid islands or cyst formation. The cysts and glands were lined with luminal cells and abluminal cells, filled with eosinophilic secretions with occasional histiocytes. The epithelial cell was no seba-ceous differentiation, significant cytological atypia and mitotic activity. A fibrous capsule with subcapsular sinus was seen around the mass in one case. Immunohistochemically, the abluminal cells were positive for p63, CK34βE12 and CK5/6, while the epithelial cells were positive for CK(AE1/AE3) and CK7. Conclusion NSL is a very rare benign of salivary gland, which occuring in the lymph node lesions are less reported, knowledge of the wide histological spectrum of this rare tumor is important in order to avoid misdiagno-sis, particularly as malignant tumor.

This paper introduced the position setup and initial recruitment initiated in publicfunded institutions in Beijing, i.e. Beijing Stomatological Hospital. It stated that position setup should fit actual needs and recruitment standards should comply with long-term development strategy. In addition, the paper highlighted such principles as transparency and all-staff involvement, along with the supervising function of departments and experts of the hospital. Thus, position setup and initial recruitment can be smoothly accomplished, forming a long-standing incentive for medical staff.

Objective To investigate the phenomenon of coherence resonance(CR)in a nonlinear integrate-and-fire neuronal model(NIF)induced with correlated voltage-gated channel noise and synaptic noise.Meanwhile, the effects of intensity of the voltage-gated channel noise, intensity of the synaptic noise and the strength of the correlation between noises on coherence resonance are discussed. Methods Based on the adiabatic approximation theory and the two-state theory, the approximate expressions of the probability distribution of neuron first fire(FPD)and the coefficient of variation(CV)of the inter-spike intervals of neuron discharging were obtained. Results It was shown that the FPD and the CV were the function of intensities of the voltage-gated channel noise, intensities of the synaptic noise and the strength of the correlation between noises. Conclusion By choosing appropriate the intensity of noise and the strength of the correlation between noises, the minimum of the CV can be obtained,to make the maximum coherence of system and the phenomenon of coherence resonance will occur.
