Acta Anatomica Sinica 1959;0(Z1):-
The lumbosacral cord of a 55-day baby girl was cut serially and stained for a microscopicstudy. It was twice split into two with extensive dysplasia in its dorsal parts.Numerous primarysensory cells were strewn within the cord. The present study was particularly concerned with theirclassification, distribution and derivation. In addition to their normal sites, the sensory ganglionic cells are scattered on the dorsal aspectsof the cord, along the space between the separated cords,in the openings of the anterior and posteriormedian fissures and also within the crevices inside the cord, yet communicating to the outside.Such sensory elements are surrounded with capsular cells;this is also characteristic of a few sen-sory cells slightly sunken into the intramedullary structures in continuation with the heterotopicganglionic formations.A number of the sensory cells are deeply embedded in the supernumerary gray and white for-mations chiefly in the dorsal portions;they are especially numerous in the anterior gray commissureand the anterior horn.Such cells are devoid of a capsule. In the early embryonic period, unfavorable conditions retard the mutual approximation of theneural folds and the precocious ectomesenchyme thrusts itself between them. The dorsal edges ofthe folds are then forced to bend ventrally toward the neural plate, resulting in a duplication of thespinal cord.During the rolling-in process, the irregular margins of the neural folds and the out-thrusts ofthe ectomesenchyme conjoin to produce the supernumeraray structures in the dorsal portions of thecord. Some presumptive sensory elements on the folds may be roiled into such intramedullary unitsand grow up in situ. The neural crest represents the spear-head of the rollingin fold;its presumptive sensory ele-ments may well disperse themselves into the precursory anterior gray commissure and theanterior horn. The primarys sensory cells and the capsular cells are both derived from the ectoderm.Theformer bear capsular cells in case they have participated in the process of ganglion formation;whereas they lack such a capsule if they grow up right in their erratic sites. The intraspinal sensory ganglionic cells are chiefly derived from the neural crest;this doesnot exclude the tube wall as being another possible source.Though erratic in postion, the intraspinal sensory cells may perform a fairly normal function.

ObjectiveTo investigate the method of establishing damaged endometrial stromal cells (ESC) model in vitro. Methods ( 1 ) From June to December 2011 ESC from normal endometrim at proliferation phase ( n =8 ) and secretory phase ( n =8 ) were isolated, cultured and identified in vitro.( 2 ) ESC was treated with different concentrations of mifepristone or withdrawal of mifepristone at different time point. The proliferation inhibition percent was measured by cell counting kit-8 ( CCK-8 ). ( 3 ) 0 μmol/L (control group)and 60 μmol/L(experimental group) concentration of mifepristone was added into ESC for 48 hours, then withdrew of mifepristone, continued to be cultured for 48 hours. The morphological changes were observed and apoptosis of ESC in different menstrual cycle were detected by flow cytometry. The mRNA and protein level of vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF),caspase-3,8,and 9 were determined by one-step quantitative real-time PCR (Q-PCR) and western blot. Results( 1 ) ESC from 16 specimens of endometrium were all isolated and cultured successfully. (2) The proliferation inhibition rate of ESC was correlated with concentration and duration of mifepristone positively. The proliferation of ESC could be recovered at a range of time after withdrawal of mifepristone. However, when the concentration of mifepristone was 100 μmol/L,the growth of ESC recovered very hardly. (3) The damaged ESC spacing increased, the spindle shape and vacuolization in the cytoplasm were observed in experimental group; the rate of apoptosis of these damaged cells was significantly increased compared with control groups, which were (52 ± 12)% vs.( 13 ± 5 ) % at the proliferative phase and (53 ± 6) % vs.( 32 ± 3 ) % at the secretory phase ( all P <0.05).The relative mRNA level of VEGF was 0.52± 0.12 in experimental group and 1.00 ± 0.17 in control group at proliferation phase (P <0.05).And the relative mRNA level of VEGF was 0.19 ±0.03 in experimental group and 0.81 ±0.07 in control group at secretory phase (P < 0.05).The relative level of VEGF protein in the experimental group were both decreased 1.98 and 2.79 folds at the proliferation phase and the secretory phase when compared with those in control group, respectively ( P < 0.05 ).While the relative levels of caspase-3,8,9 mRNA were 5.62 ± 0.65,5.41 ± 0.53,7.22 ± 0.51 in the experimental group and 1.00 ± 0.44,1.00 ± 0.21,1.00 ± 0.32 in control group at the proliferative phase. In the mean time, the relative levels of caspase-3,8,9 mRNA were 10.22 ± 0.72,25.3 ± 1.72,9.48 ± 1.89 in experimental group and 1.42 ± 0.14,1.14 ± 0.28,1.16 ± 0.12 in control group at the secretory phase, respectively (P < 0.05).Compared with the control group, the levels of caspase protein in the experimental group were increased 2.04 and 1.60 folds in caspase-3,4.23 and 1.49 folds in caspase-8,2.65 and 3.5 folds in caspase-9 at the proliferative phase and at the secretory phase, respectively (P < 0.05 ).ConclusionThe damaged model of ESC can be established after 48 hours by the withdrawal of 60 μmol/L mifepristone in treatment of ESC for 48 hours.

Objective To summarize the experience in surgical treatment of hepatic cavernous hemangioma (HCH). Methods The clinical data of 345 patients who received HCH resection in General Hospital of PLA from 1986 to 2005 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The ratio between male and female patients was 1/1.8. Eighteen patients (5.2%) were incidentally found with HCH during or after operation. Most of the HCH were located in the right lobe, with the proportion of 16.2% (56/345). Ninety-one patients (26.5%) had small HCH (diameter<5.0 cm), 173 (50.3%) had large HCH (diameter ranging from 5.0-10.0 cm), and 80 (23.2%) had giant HCH (diameter>10.0 cm). The mean diameter of the HCH was (8.0±5.0) cm. Three hundred and twenty-three (99.7%) patients were with Child pugh A. Right subcostal incision and enucleation were performed on all patients. The incidence of postoperative complications and mortality were 11.3% (39/345) and 0.3% (1/345), respectively. Caudate lobe resection was performed on 9 of 11 patients with the tumor located in caudate lobe. Conclusions Some HCHs may be easy to be misdiagnosed as hepatic solid tumor. HCH resection (inclu-ding hepatic caudate lobectomy) is safe for patients with HCH, and the most severe operative complication is massive bleeding during hepatectomy.

Objective To explore the methods of surgical treatment of patients with tumors in the body and tail of pancreas. Methods We analyzed the clinical data from 45 patients with tumors in the body and tail of pancreas who underwent surgical excision between 1984 and 2002 in our hospital. The 45 cases consisted of malignant tumors(n=33) and benign tumors(n=12). Operations performed included resection of the body and tail of pancreas(17 cases), combined-organ excision (24 cases) and local tumor resection(4 cases ). Results Pathological classification:carcinoma (33 cases), islet cell tumors (8 cases ), cystic adenoma (8 cases), epithelioid fibroma (1 case) and cystic teratoma (1 case). The average diameter-size of excised tumor was determined as follows: carcinoma in the body or tail of pancreas was(8.0?2.6)cm, and that of islet cell tumors was(6.5?2.4)cm. There were no operative deaths, but operation resulted in the following complications: pancreatic fistula (2 cases), subdiaphragmatic abscess (2 cases), pancreatic pseudocyst (1 case ), upper gastrointestinal bleeding(1 case) and infection or poor healing of incisional wound (3 cases). All of the complications were cured with conservative therapy. Conclusions Excision of the body and tail of pancreas is an effective method for the treatment of patients with tumors in the distal half of pancreas. Before operation, it is necessary to be routinely prepared to perform combined organ excision. Regarding the surgical handling of pancreatic stump, we select the use of ligation of main pancreatic duct plus mattress suture, which we believe could effectively prevent pancreatic fistula.
