Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(08):-
AIM:To establish a digitized HPLC fingerprint of Compound Danshen Dropping PilLs (CDDP). METHODS:The RP-HPLC condition was optimized by the chromatographic fingerprint relative index (Fr). The chromatographic fingerprints were characteristically digitized and evaluated by the software of the digitized evaluation system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the super information characteristics. RESULTS:15 co-possessing peaks were selected as the fingerprint peaks of CDDP by taking protocatechualdehyde peak as the referential peak to establish the digitized fingerprint and the important digitized information for its quality control was obtained. The stabilities among different lots of samples were evaluated by the dual qualitative and dual quantitative similarity method. CONCLUSION:The fingerprints can perfectly reflect the authentical quality of CDDP.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
Of the 250 cases of blunt abdominal trauma,15 cases of pancreatic lesions were complicatedwhich include 3 cases lacerated on the head of pan-creas, 5 on the body, 6 on the tail and one con-tused. The pancreatic bed drainage was performedfor one case, repair for 8 cases and pancreatic tailresection for 6 cases, In author's experiences, theroutinely inspecting the pancreas was carried outintra operatively, with blunt epigastric trauma, es-pecially the light red hemotoliquid was found bypericentesis. Operative method was classified frompancreatic bed drainage, repair and resection in ac-cordance with severity of the trauma, For prevent-ing the pancreatic juice fistula, the main pancreaticduct must try its best to be ligated. If the traumais on the head, a common bile duct and duodenumdecompression must be done.

Objective: Affective disorder patients can be effectively treated by electro-acupuncture methods without many side effects, but the mechanism of the treatment is not known. The object of this study was to discover whether there is change of guanine-nucleotide-binding protein (G-protein) level in platelets membrane from major depression patients before and after treatment by fluoxetine and electro-acupuncture. Methods:We utilized selective antibodies to quantitate the levels of the G-protein ? subunits in platelets membrane of 78 major depression patients (24 received fluoxetine treatment, 24 received electo-acupuncture treatment and 30 received placebo treatment) and 30 matched comparison subjects.Result:Levels of both G?i and G?q of the patient groups were higher than matched normal comparison subjects before treatment of fluoxetine and electro-acupuncture,the level of G?i and G?q did not change after the treatment of fluoxetine, electro-acupuncture and placebo. The level of G?s wasn't significantly different with matched comparison subjects. Conclusion:The levels of G?i、G?q in platelets membrane from major depression patients are higher than normal, the high levels of G?i and G?q in platelets membrane may be a trait abnormality for major depression patients, not a state abnormality for major depression.

BACKGROUND: Learning and memory is a very complex biological phenomenon. Although quite a few researches on the substances participate in learning and memory and the brain areas related with learning and memory, its mechanism is still not completely clarified.OBJECTIVE:ro study the difference of antioxidase activity at different brain area in rats with different ability of learning and memory to reveal the relationship between the ability of learning and memory and the activity of antioxidase in specific brain area.DESIGN: A randomized controlled trial based on the experimental animals.SETTING: Department of Biochemistry in Jining Medical College.MATERIALS: The study was conducted in the Laboratory of Biochemistry of Jining Medical College and Suzbeu Medical College between March 2001 and January 2004. Forty 15-month old male Wistar rats with a body mass between 580 g and 650 g were selected.INTERVENTIONS: The detection of learning memory ability was carried out in MG-2 trisection radiation maze. Correction response was that the rats escaped to safe area after electric shock. Standard of master was that the rats had 9 out of 10 times continuously of correction. Observatory indicators included times of response required reaching the standard and the correct response rate. Good learning. ability meant 40 or less than 40 times of responses to reach standard; otherwise, poor learning ability was considered. Detection was repeated after 24 hours to observe the memory. Good memory meant 3 times continuously of correct response; otherwise, poor memory was considered. Rats with good learning ability and memory were included into group 1 (n= 10) and the rats with poor learning ability and memory were included into group 2( n = 12). The rest rats were washed out.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase(CAT) and glutathione-peroxidase(GSH-Px) of five brain areas including cerebral cortex, cerebella, striatum, hippocampus and hypothalamus in rats of two groups.RESULTS: To compare the rats with poor learning and memory ability with rats with good learning and memory ability: SOD activity in cortex, hippocampus and striatum significantly reduced ( t = 3.82, 4. 50, 6. 76, P <0.01); CAT activity in cortex, hippocampus, striatum and hypothalamus significantly reduced(t =4.75, 7.06, 10. 88, 17.28, P<0.001); and GSH-Px activity was similar in each brain area without statistical significance.CONCLUSION: Hippocampus, cortex, striatum and hypothalamus all might participate in learning memory process, and the activities of antioxidases in these areas are closely related with learning memory.

Objective To observe and assess the effect of different dosages of aspirin on inflammatory biomarkers, hemorheology (platelet aggregation rate) and clinical prognosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome ( ACS). Methods ACS patients were randomly assigned to receive different dosages of aspirin treatment orally. Patients in group A,B and C took 100 mg, 500 mg and 1000 mg of aspirin per day respectively. They were treated and followed-up for 1 year. High-sensitivity C-reactive protein ( hsCRP) , IL-6, tumor necrosis TNFot and platelet aggregation rate were examined and major adverse cardiac events( MACE) were recorded. Results A total of 312 patients with ACS were enrolled in the study. The baseline characteristics of the three groups were not different with respect to age, gender, cardiovascular risk profile, level of inflammatory biomarkers and concomitant treatment before and after randomization. The levels of baseline serum hsCRP, IL-6 and TNFa were higher in subjects of the study as compared with normal reference value (P<0. 05, <0. 05, <0. 01) and they decreased significantly after therapy with 3 different doses of aspirin (detected at 30 days, 6 months and 12 months, P <0. 001 ) , but there were no significant differences among the three groups( P >0. 05) . Rehospitalization , MACE and the change of platelet aggregation ratio were not significantly different among the three groups. The incidence of gastrointestinal complaints was significantly higher in groups B and C than in group A ( P < 0. 05 ). Conclusions The levels of serum inflammatory biomarker increase in patients with ACS. Aspirin therapy may decrease the level of inflammatory markers significantly, but increasing the dosage of aspirin from 100 mg to 1000 mg daily does not decrease the level of inflammatory markers and the clinical MACEs further. However, the incidence of gastrointestinal complaints increase significantly with the increase of aspirin dosage.
